WORK & HEALTH
The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. Genesis 2:15
Work was instituted by God for the good of the human race. God's blessings are upon those who work. Work occupies the body and mind in order to keep the body and mind pure and healthy. Work that is productive and creative for the good of others is the best work for the body, soul and mind.
God created our bodies. They are His. We are only occupying them momentarily. But someday God is going to ask us what we did with His body. Did you keep it strong, healthy and active?
When Joe came to the ministry at the age of 87, he was way over weight. The doctors wanted to put him on all sorts of medication, encluding medication for diabeties. I told them to wait 6 months.
During the next six months, I introduced Joe to the shovel, pick, rake and other ground and gardening tools. Afte six months Joe returned to the doctor and he literally asked him if he was the same person. He could not believe his eyes. Joe was in perfect health. At the time of this writing, at the age of 91, the doctor told him he had the health of a 50 year old man.
Since the Body was created to work, the body begins breaking down when not at work. Work needs to be introduced to children as soon as they are capable of accomplishing the smallest and simplist tasks. Household chores should be introduced as a blessing and privilge. Children should not be "rewarded" for work, but privilges should be withheld if chores are not accomplished. Work is for our good. Children who learn the blessing of work in their younger years will accomplish much in their adult years.
the Life of Jesus was a life of work. "“My Father is always at His work to this very day, and I too am working.” John 5:17. If we call ourselves "Christian", then we need to follow the example of Jesus in everything we do. It will produce happiness, joy, peace, clear depression, lift the spirits and improve the mind.

At the age of 91, here is Joe carrying a 50 pound bag of dog food from the car to the shed. This is normal for Joe. He does not take any medications. His has perfect health because he is living by the laws and principles God has laid down for us. Each morning Joe is out making his mile and a half walk/jog of the property.
If you would like to learn how to live by those laws and principles, please visit our Bible studies and videos.
"To many of the afflicted ones who received healing, Christ said, 'Sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.' John 5:14. Thus He taught that disease is the result of violating God’s laws, both natural and spiritual. The great misery in the world would not exist did men but live in harmony with the Creator’s plan.
"Christ had been the guide and teacher of ancient Israel, and He taught them that health is the reward of obedience to the laws of God. The Great Physician who healed the sick in Palestine had spoken to His people from the pillar of cloud, telling them what they must do, and what God would do for them. 'If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God,' He said, 'and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.' Exodus 15:26. Christ gave to Israel definite instruction in regard to their habits of life, and He assured them, 'The Lord will take away from thee all sickness.' Deuteronomy 7:15. When they fulfilled the conditions, the promise was verified to them. 'There was not one feeble person among their tribes.' Psalm 105:37. {DA 824}
