Bible Archeological Discoveries
The Bible tells us that Mt. Sinai is in Arabia. Well, the Mt. Sinai that is on most maps is in the Sinai desert, not Arabia. You don’t get into Arabia until you cross the Gulf of Aqaba. So the real Mt. Sinai must be in Arabia. (Galatians 4:25).
The first thing you notice when looking at the pictures is the blackened peak on top. What would make that peak black? There is no vegetation. Nothing there to burn. And look at how even it is.
Maybe it was caused by the cloud of fire that God came down in. The Bible says that the mount was all a smoke.
In the same area is the rock that was struck by Moses and split in two, causing water to come out. In the videos, you can see very clearly the water erosion. As you can see, this is desert and there is nothing that could collect enough water to put water grooves in the rocks. Yet the water erosion is as plain as any found today made by a riverbed or gully.
Another aspect of the split rock is that it stands out all by itself. When God told Moses to go stand by that rock, He didn’t even have to point it out or show the way. You can’t miss it.
In the upper right hand corner is the picture of a foundation. This foundation is sitting at the base of Mt. Sinai. It was where the temple was sitting. In the lower right hand corner is a picture of an altar. Moses built this altar to the Lord after they defeated their enemies at “Rephidim”.
The cow shaped petroglyph in the middle is on an alter at the Mt. Sinai site. There are several of these cow shaped petroglyphs. All are around this Mt. Sinai. These are the only cow shaped petroglyphs in all of Saudi Arabia. They are all just like the ones you find in the Egyptian tombs. Egypt is where the Israelites came from.
By the way, this mountain in Saudi Arabia is called, “Jebal El Lawz”. That means, “The Mountain of the Law”. I think the name says it all.
Yes my friend, you can trust the Bible. It is real. It is true. It will never let you down. Give your heart to Jesus today and be obedient to all that He tells you to do. If you will be obedient, you will have eternal life. If you disobey, you will have eternal death.
What do we do with those Bible stories? Are they for real? Did they actually happen? Yes to all! Let's take for an example, the story of the flood. Did it really happen. Of course. How else are you going to explain ocean critters found on top of Mt. Everest. It is the only way to explain the Grand Canyon. It is the only way to explain why every culture in the world has a “flood” story. It was handed down by Noah and his sons to their children and grandchildren, etc.
In the book there are pictures that show the ark before it was uncovered by a 1978 earthquake. Up to this point, it had been sliding down a mountain side, being pushed by mud and volcanic action. It was covered and almost unidentifiable.
Other pictures show it after the 1978 earthquake. This earthquake either pushed it identifiable in this picture.
Other pictures show it after a team from the U.S. laid out tape. These tape arrangements were made by a metal detector being moved across the top of the shape. Following the metal signals, they laid out the tape. The tape shows a man made structure underneath the top layer of mud and ground.
Photo shows a petrified rivet and washer that were recovered from the ark area. In Genesis we read where iron was used. The people before the flood were far superior to any of us. They came fresh from the hand of God.
Photo shows ribs that have been excavated. The structure is definitely a man made boat.
Photo shows what it would look like based on a computer print out. The computer print out is based on radar scan data.
Sodom & Gomorrah
After the flood, the next great event was the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Did this event really take place? Or is it just a fairy tale?
Again, not long ago, Ron Wyatt and Johnathan Gray found these cities. As you can see in the pictures, they are very real. The fireballs (the sulfur balls in the picture) that destroyed these cities are found no where else in the world. This is the only place in the world where they are found. There are millions of them, just as if they had “rained” down.
The “sphinx” like structure in front of the gates looks just like the sphinx in Egypt. The only difference being, this one was baked a little too long.
You can also see the organized structure to the wall. In the pictures, look at the upper left hand corner. You can see very clearly how man-made those are. You can even see the windows in the walls. Truly, this is not a natural, nature made object.
In the bottom left hand photo, you can see a section of the city. Look at how organized and rectangular the walls are. In the lower right photo, you can see a wall with a door in it.
The reason these cities have been preserved for us today is because of the climate. It doesn’t get much rain out there in the desert. The ash is still intact after almost 3,000 years.
The Red Sea
After the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, we have another magnificent display of God’s power. In the pictures you will see the beach area on the West side of the Red Sea from where the Israelites crossed over.
You can see where they would have come through the canyon to come out onto the beach. This fits perfectly the description that is mentioned in the Bible.
The standing round pole you see on the bottom left is one of two. The other one is on the Arabian side of the Red Sea. These poles have inscriptions on them which read to the effect that:
"These monuments were erected by King Solomon, in honor of Yahweh, to commemorate the crossing of the Red Sea.
So where did they cross? In the picture above, do you see where the two fingers of water move up, one to the left and one to the right. In between them is what we call the “Desert of Sinai” or the “Sinai Peninsula”. Most of the world believes that the Israelites wandered around in that area for 40 years. Not so.
Instead of crossing the Red Sea across the finger of water going to the left and up by Egypt, they crossed the body of water known as the Gulf of Aqaba.
How do we know this? Well, there are the pillars that stand on either side of the Gulf of Aqaba. That is pretty good indication. But also, there are chariot wheels and horses hooves and human skeletons down at the bottom of the Gulf of Aqaba. How did they get there? The bible says the sea swept over the Egyptians and drowned them in the sea. Not bad. The bible is proven to be very accurate. I have drawn in the route they took when they crossed the Red Sea. On the map below, it shows that there is a land bridge that crosses at exactly that spot. On either side of the land bridge, the water drops about 5,000 feet. Too steep to climb down for getting across.
But the land bridge is only about 1,000 feet deep at its lowest. This makes the crossing a very gentle 6% slope. That would be very easy to cross with wagons, horses, sheep and little children.
After crossing the Red Sea, the Israelites came to Mt. Sinai. There God gave to them the Ten Commandments. They spent over a year at that place, building the tabernacle and preparing to cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan.
