Matthew: A Sinking Ship

My Dear Family in Christ,

“Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” Then pointing with his hand at his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers, because whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” Matthew 12:48-50.

Even today the Jewish people think of their own as “family”. If you are not “family”, you don’t count. You will be used and abused, but never considered “family”. The Catholic church picked up on that attitude and adopted it. From it, all of the Mother’s little whores have adopted the same philosophy. “If you don’t belong to my church, you are not of God.” Every church today is sinking with pagan rituals and services adopted from the “Mother Church” of Pagan-Catholicism.

The Jewish church of Christ’s day was now sinking. It had slipped off the Rock of Christ, landed on the sand of human wisdom, philosophy, ceremonies and rituals. Now the tide was coming in and it was about to be overwhelmed with the flood of evil and sunk into everlasting destruction.

Jesus was literally pointing out the fallacy in such “family” or “church” thinking. To God, all who are obedient to the “family” rules are “family”. The Kingdom of Heaven is one big happy family of individuals from every nation, race and religion who have surrendered their lives to the rules of God’s Kingdom. No church is God’s family. No race is God’s family. No religion is God’s family. Only those who live as Jesus lived: perfect, sinless and Commandment keeping. They are the brothers and sisters of Jesus.

“From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered—
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he today that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother.”
Shakespeare

Shakespeare had it right. Those who live by the rules of Heaven will be persecuted and hated. They will shed their blood beside Jesus and be counted as His brother. But those who sit in church, sleeping their lives away, far from the battle, will be rejected by God and cast into the Lake of Fire. There is a war going on. We ought to get in it!

Matthew 13:1 - Matthew 14:33

That same day Jesus left the house and went out beside Lake Galilee, where he sat down to teach. Such large crowds gathered around him that he had to sit in a boat, while the people stood on the shore. Then he taught them many things by using stories.

Sitting in the “life boat” on the lake and throwing out the “life preservers” to the people of their sinking ship, Jesus was attempting to save their lives. Jesus didn’t take the people to church. Jesus didn’t teach “church”. He didn’t tell them to go to church. The Kingdom of God is bigger than any church or denomination. The Kingdom of God encompasses the whole universe. All who want to be a citizen of that “country” may. But those who have entered illegally through their churches and denominations have become “illegal” aliens and will be gathered up and cast out to destruction. But those who go through the proper vetting process, applying for the proper passport to the Kingdom of God, may obtain one when they fulfill all the legal requirements. Jesus is no respecter of religions, churches, denominations, nationalities, race or sex. His Kingdom is open to everyone who is willing to go through the proper course of action to get there. But all the “illegals” will be “cast out” into a lake of fire.

He said: A farmer went out to scatter seed in a field. While the farmer was scattering the seed, some of it fell along the road and was eaten by birds.

For over 6,000 years Jesus has been sending out “farmers” to scatter His seed, His Word of truth, to the world. As it is scattered, much of it is scattered along the worldly paths, highways and byways. As people trudge along these broad ways to death, they trample on the seed of life. They ground it into the dirt. They kick it off to the side. When they are done disrespecting the seed of life, it is eaten by the birds. The majority of the world is not interested in the “seed of life”. The majority are too busy searching for worldly entertainment, prideful ambitions and egotistical achievements. Unfortunately, it is church members who disrespect the seed of life the most. The path to Heaven is not desirable by churches.

Other seeds fell on thin, rocky ground and quickly started growing because the soil wasn’t very deep.

Some people are “thin-skinned” while others have “hard heads” filled with rocks. At first they accept the seed of life because it is “different” or makes their ego and pride puff up by “knowing” what others do not. They love to spout the seed of life and show it off. They yell and scream at those who don’t want to bow down to their new knowledge.

But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched and dried up, because they did not have enough roots.

But when the people begin ridiculing them, insulting them, and they see that the seed of life is not popular and entails too much persecution and trouble, they dry up and blow away. They are nothing but hot air. They did not let the seed of life first grow deep within them so it could withstand the heat of persecution and the dry winds of ridicule and insults. Therefore, many just sit in church sleeping and accepting what the hot “windbags” teach. They don’t want to get “involved” in the war.

Some other seeds fell where thornbushes grew up and choked the plants.

The seed that fell among thornbushes is that which was received by those who continued to live among the thorny and prickly places of life. Instead of moving out from their former friends that were thorny and prickly, they continued to live around “bad company” that corrupts good character. Instead of moving away from their churches, they continue to accept the thorns that are choking out their eternal life. Eventually, the influence of the “bad company”, the cares of this world and desires for worldly greatness and things, choke out the good seed and it dies for lack of nurturing. What is surprising is the fact that church seems to grow the most thornbushes. People gather under the cover of their thornbush-churches feeling safe and do not realize the danger they are in.

But a few seeds did fall on good ground where the plants produced a hundred or sixty or thirty times as much as was scattered. If you have ears, pay attention!

However, a few seeds, not many, very few fell on good hearts who nurtured, watered and cared for it. They valued the seed more importantly than anything this world had to offer. Therefore, it grew and produced offspring. If you are not producing offspring, bringing people to the life Jesus has taught us to live, you will die. Are you paying attention? Do you have ears? Sitting in church is not producing offspring. Seed sitting in church is being chocked, scorched and withered. It will die for lack of proper Christian activity.

“Everywhere there is a tendency to substitute the work of organizations for individual effort. Human wisdom tends to consolidation, to centralization, to the building up of great churches and institutions. Multitudes leave to institutions and organizations the work of benevolence; they excuse themselves from contact with the world, and their hearts grow cold. They become self-absorbed and unimpressible. Love for God and man dies out of the soul.

“Christ commits to His followers an individual work—a work that cannot be done by proxy. Ministry to the sick and the poor, the giving of the gospel to the lost, is not to be left to committees or organized charities. Individual responsibility, individual effort, personal sacrifice, is the requirement of the gospel.

“‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in,’ is Christ’s command, ‘that My house may be filled.’ He brings men into touch with those whom they seek to benefit. ‘Bring the poor that are cast out to thy house,’ He says. ‘When thou seest the naked, that thou cover him.’ ‘They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.’ Luke 14:23; Isaiah 58:7; Mark 16:18. Through direct contact, through personal ministry, the blessings of the gospel are to be communicated.” {MH 147}

The Jews were very good “church-sitters”. They were not producing offspring for God. They were so involved in building up their church they didn’t need God. They hated Him for interfering with their church-building projects and activities. They did not realized that their ship was sinking. Hole after hole was being punched into the side of the ship, not by an enemy from the outside, but from the inside. God gave them a perfect, unsinkable ship, but they did not like it as given by God and began “remodeling” it from the inside. It had been so long since they had been outside that they did not understand that to put holes into the side of the ship, to hang their gaudy church paraphernalia and human wisdom, would sink their ship.

Jesus’ disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you use nothing but stories when you speak to the people?” Jesus answered: I have explained the secrets about the kingdom of heaven to you, but not to others. Everyone who has something will be given more. But people who don’t have anything will lose even what little they have. I use stories when I speak to them because when they look, they cannot see, and when they listen, they cannot hear or understand.

So God’s promise came true, just as the prophet Isaiah had said, “These people will listen and listen, but never understand. They will look and look, but never see. All of them have stubborn minds! Their ears are stopped up, and their eyes are covered. They cannot see or hear or understand. If they could, they would turn to me, and I would heal them.” But God has blessed you, because your eyes can see and your ears can hear! Many prophets and good people were eager to see what you see and to hear what you hear. But I tell you that they did not see or hear.

How true. We sit in church listening and listening but never understanding. We sit in church looking and looking, but never seeing. Those sitting in church have stubborn minds and ears that are plugged and eyes that are covered.

Sometimes we get so “tunnel visioned” and so concentrated staring at the problem we are unable to see the solution. Church people are so focused on their church that they are not seeing Jesus. By looking away from the church they would see the solution to their problems. Jesus would come into focus. Very few are listening to Jesus. It is all about what this man says, what that church leader says, what that famous church-person says, but none are listening to what Jesus says.

The gentleman who keeps writing me is so focused on his Sabbath-keeping church, he has never seen Jesus. He keeps writing me, telling me what his church leaders and important church people, with their degrees and foreign speech, have to say. But he completely rejects Jesus and His teachings. That is because he came out of a Catholic church and sat down in a Sabbath-keeping church. No difference, only the day he goes to church on. But it is all Catholic and “anti-Christ”. It takes the eyes off of the teachings of Jesus and puts them squarely on the church.

Telling someone to look away from what they want to see is almost pointless. People are so fixated on what they want, they have a hard time understanding the truth. If people would just look away from their churches, desires, selfishness and egos, they would find the true meaning of life. I just don’t understand why we are not listening. It was church people Jesus was talking to. It was to people who thought they belonged to God. It was to Sabbath keeping, church-going, tithe-paying people Jesus was addressing. Jesus could not teach the people “straight-up”, they were not ready or willing to hear it. Even today, as the Spirit of God attempts to bring this message to church members, so very few are able to understand it. They are so fixated on their churches and denominations they do not hear, see or understand what Jesus is trying to tell them.

How true that what they think they have, church and salvation, will be taken away from them. They are fighting so hard to hang on to their church, they refuse to listen to Jesus and let go of their selfishness, pride and ego. Church has totally destroyed them as it did the Jews of Christ’s day. Church people keep going to church and listening, watching and doing but never coming to the truth. A lot of Bible facts are being taught, and a lot of busy church work being accomplish, but no seeds are being watered, cultivated and nurtured for Jesus. Bible “facts” and Bible “truth” are not the same.

Now listen to the meaning of the story about the farmer: The seeds that fell along the road are the people who hear the message about the kingdom, but don’t understand it. Then the evil one comes and snatches the message from their hearts.

They do not understand because they do not want to understand. There is nothing wrong with the seed that is being scattered. There is nothing wrong with the watering by the Spirit of God. But the people on the road refuse to get off the broad way, get out of their churches and get on to the narrow path that would give themselves time to hear, study and understand the seed. It is their own fault. God is not to blame. Since they do not give God an opportunity in their head-long rush for the things of the world, the devil is more than happy to snatch the seed from their hearts.

The seeds that fell on rocky ground are the people who gladly hear the message and accept it right away. But they don’t have deep roots, and they don’t last very long. As soon as life gets hard or the message gets them in trouble, they give up.

I have seen this over and over again. So few have deep roots in Jesus. Not one person in a hundred churches is able to defend his beliefs biblically. People get “convinced” and baptized, and then they sit in church. Church people have become so dead sitting in church, all they can do is feebly point people to a sinking church. They have no strength to row the “Life Boat” to Jesus. We must dig our roots deep into the Word of God, not church, and draw the sap from Jesus. We must memorize the Bible and know it or we won’t make it. That is why I keep reading the Bible over and over again. I have now read the Bible over 100 times. You have already given up if you are sitting in church.

The seeds that fell among the thornbushes are also people who hear the message. But they start worrying about the needs of this life and are fooled by the desire to get rich. So the message gets choked out, and they never produce anything.

How wealthy our churches are. Our little, tiny church here in this town, that meets on the Sabbath, has over $100,000 sitting in a bank account. There are only about 6 members in it. It does nothing for Jesus. They could open up the kitchen for the homeless, of which there are many. After school programs would save a lot of kids from drugs and other problems. On and on the list could go, but they are more interested in sitting smugly for a couple hours on Saturday patting themselves on their backs claiming to be “The Remnant”, the “people of God”. They sit there fighting among themselves as to what to eat, drink and wear while discussing the latest in conspiracy theories. How deceived. All seeds sitting in church have withered, dried up and are not producing fruit. Their Titanic is sinking and they are oblivious to it.

The seeds that fell on good ground are the people who hear and understand the message. They produce as much as a hundred or sixty or thirty times what was planted.

Those who have good seed in their hearts are not sitting in church. They are out, as Jesus was, working the fields that are white and ready for harvesting. They are in the gutters helping those who have stumbled in to stand up and clean up in Jesus. They are looking into prisons to see who has fallen in. They are so busy working for Jesus producing fruit, they have no idea what the inside of a church looks like. While the big ship is sinking, they are rowing off in their Life Boats picking up those who have “jumped ship” and taking them to Jesus. Have you produced a hundred or sixty or thirty times more fruit? Can you point to one person you have brought to Jesus who is now living as Jesus commands?

Jesus then told them this story: The kingdom of heaven is like what happened when a farmer scattered good seed in a field. But while everyone was sleeping, an enemy came and scattered weed seeds in the field and then left. When the plants came up and began to ripen, the farmer’s servants could see the weeds. The servants came and asked, “Sir, didn’t you scatter good seed in your field? Where did these weeds come from?” “An enemy did this,” he replied. His servants then asked, “Do you want us to go out and pull up the weeds?” “No!” he answered. “You might also pull up the wheat. Leave the weeds alone until harvest time. Then I’ll tell my workers to gather the weeds and tie them up and burn them. But I’ll have them store the wheat in my barn.”

Throughout the history of this sinful world, while God has been scattering good seed in the field of the world, the devil keeps scattering bad among the good seeds. The devil is not scattering weeds among the weed seeds. They are already weeds and will be destroyed. No, he is scattering his weed seeds among the places God is scattering His wheat seeds. That is why our churches are so dangerous. They have been advertized as “safe zones” for Christians, while the devil is sowing wild seeds of weed among them. The weed seeds are accepted as “good” seed and lives are destroyed that would have been saved. Why, because the people in church are sound asleep. Remember, the weed seeds were sown while everyone was sleeping. If they had been awake, they would have stopped the sowing of the weed seed. They are not warning people of the bad seed that is being preached among them. “Saved by grace”, “unconditional love of God”, “can’t stop sinning” and other weed seeds are being scattered about our churches. Get out. Don’t let a weed seed fall on or around you.

When the weed seed begins to sprout and becomes a big weed, the “good” church people of course want to pull them out. When the “weed” gets to weedy the “good” church people can’t stand them. Fingers get pointed and tongues begin to wag and people divide into clicks and “gangs”. The devil loves this. While the “good” church people are acting like the devil in all of this, good plants are being pulled up and left to die.

Do all you can to prevent the sowing of the weed seeds. If you sit in a church, do everything you can to prevent the satanic teachings of “Saved by Grace”, “Unconditional Love of God” and “We Can’t Stop Sinning”. But once it is sown, we must leave the pulling up of weeds to Jesus. All we need to do is love, sow good seed, cultivate the good and live as Jesus lived. In our own lives, we are to pull up any weed that may sprout. But in the lives of others, leave it alone. Clear your own garden of weeds and others will see your wonderful garden and want to imitate it. If you can’t stop the weed seeds from being sown, you need to get out and take everyone you can with you. I can guarantee that if you attempt to stop the weed seeds from being sown, you will be cast out of your church just as Jesus was. Don’t you want to be like Jesus?

Another point, the weeds will be gathered at the end of time and burned. There is no separate harvest of the good seed and the bad seed. Both are harvested together at the end of time so that the good wheat is gathered to God and the weeds are burned. There is no separate “rapture” of the righteous taking place first and then at a later time another “reaping” of the weeds. The weeds are actually pulled up first in the parable and then the wheat will be free to be gathered up for Heaven.

Jesus told them another story: The kingdom of heaven is like what happens when a farmer plants a mustard seed in a field. Although it is the smallest of all seeds, it grows larger than any garden plant and becomes a tree. Birds even come and nest on its branches.

You see, if you are out busy pulling up weeds, you might just pull up a “mustard plant”, then where would all the birds go to nest? Where would all the animals find cool shade? If you stop pulling up weeds in others, you could stand up straight and stretch out your arms in love and become a noble tree of refuge for people. No, leave the pulling up to Jesus and you just water every seed with love. You never know which will become what over time. God has a way of turning “weeds” into “trees”. No matter how small the seed is, such as a little book called “Change Your Life Biblically”, if you will sow it, in time it will produce a large tree that will produce much fruit, shade and rest. What a blessing you could be. Get up out of your church and start sowing. Pull the weeds out of your own life and water the good seeds.

Each one of you, who are reading this, could be a mighty “farmer” for Jesus. Request a case of books and begin sowing beside all rivers, roads and byways. Let God do the weeding, you just keep up the sowing. Get up now and walk out of your church. Stop wasting time there and begin sowing good seed. Think how much more a farmer could sow and produce on his farm if he wasn’t sitting in church.

Jesus also said: The kingdom of heaven is like what happens when a woman mixes a little yeast into three big batches of flour. Finally, all the dough rises.

What kind of “yeast” are ye? Are you a “Christian” yeast or a rotten yeast? Do you help people rise to God or fall to church? Does your yeast produce beautiful loaves of “Christians” or “sour dough”?

Jesus used stories when he spoke to the people. In fact, he did not tell them anything without using stories. So God’s promise came true, just as the prophet had said, “I will use stories to speak my message and to explain things that have been hidden since the creation of the world.”

Stories have a way of captivating the mind and the imagination. God created us with an imagination in order for us to better understand a God we cannot see or fathom. Stories help us to internalize what is told in order for us to “see” it. What can you do to take the “truths” of the Bible and turn them into “stories” for those around you? The Spirit of God will work with you as you begin working for Him. As you give your life to Jesus, to become a “farmer” for Him, He will teach you how to hoe, cultivate and sow. Not many farmers need to be taught how to sit and look at the field. That is what the book, “Change Your Life Biblically” is all about: teaching you how to become a good “farmer” for Jesus.

After Jesus left the crowd and went inside, his disciples came to him and said, “Explain to us the story about the weeds in the wheat field.” Jesus answered: The one who scattered the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seeds are the people who belong to the kingdom. The weed seeds are those who belong to the evil one, and the one who scattered them is the devil.

We are to be the “good seed” of Jesus. We are to let Jesus “scatter” us around the world in order to produce fruit for others to see and desire. Of course, if you are producing rotten fruit that no one wants, then you are not working for Jesus. It might be best for you to sit in church, out of the public view. If you are seed that is sitting in church, you are not being scattered and therefore are useless to Jesus. Seed sitting in the seed-bag is good-for-nothing. So get up, climb out of the seed-bag and let God take you and scatter you around your neighborhood with stories that will lighten up the imaginations for good. The devil would love to keep God’s seed-bag closed up. Don’t let him. Get out. Go find the rotten seed the devil is scattering and turn it into good seed.

The harvest is the end of time, and angels are the ones who bring in the harvest. Weeds are gathered and burned. That’s how it will be at the end of time. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather from his kingdom everyone who does wrong or causes others to sin. Then he will throw them into a flaming furnace, where people will cry and grit their teeth in pain. But everyone who has done right will shine like the sun in their Father’s kingdom. If you have ears, pay attention!

We read it, we hear it, but we don’t understand it. We truly do refuse to understand. We love our safe and peaceful churches. We don’t want to rock the boat. After all, down deep inside, we truly do realize that it is sinking, but we have been so conditioned to just ride along, we refuse to acknowledge the fact that we are the walking dead. Everyone who does wrong or causes others to sin will be destroyed. Do you do wrong? Do you sin? If you are sitting in church, you are giving a bad example of Christianity and causing others to sin. You will be destroyed. Only those who live as Jesus commands: perfect, sinless and Commandment keeping will shine like the sun in their Father’s kingdom.

The kingdom of heaven is like what happens when someone finds treasure hidden in a field and buries it again. A person like that is happy and goes and sells everything in order to buy that field.

We sit in our churches claiming to love God and that the world means nothing to us. What a lie. We spend every waking moment of our lives thinking about this world, how to make money, how to spend it, what to eat, what to drink and what to wear. Have you sold everything for the Kingdom of God? How much time, each day, do you spend with Jesus in His Word? What hypocrisy! We have been infiltrated by the Catholic Church that has taught us, “saved by grace”, “unconditional love of God” and “go to church”. We are taught to “just believe”, do a few church things, and you are saved. Jesus loves you. My, my, what a peace and safety message for those who don’t want to get their fingernails dirty for Jesus. The book, “Change Your Life Biblically” is a “Treasure” from God. Who is willing to sell everything to get cases of books and share them?

“What is the condition in the world today? Is not faith in the Bible as effectually destroyed by the higher criticism and speculation of today as it was by tradition and rabbinism in the days of Christ? Have not greed and ambition and love of pleasure as strong a hold on men’s hearts now as they had then? In the professedly Christian world, even in the professed churches of Christ, how few are governed by Christian principles. In business, social, domestic, even religious circles, how few make the teachings of Christ the rule of daily living. Is it not true that ‘justice standeth afar off: ... equity cannot enter.... And he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey’”? Isaiah 59:14, 15. {MH 142.3}

The kingdom of heaven is like what happens when a shop owner is looking for fine pearls. After finding a very valuable one, the owner goes and sells everything in order to buy that pearl.

Over and over again the Lord is trying to press home the fact that Jesus is the Pearl of great price and the Treasure in the field. For some reason, we sit in church thinking we have found Jesus. If you are sitting in church, you haven’t found the Pearl of Great Price or the Treasure. After you had bought it, would you hide it? Would you not show it to every one of your friends? Maybe like you, they don’t care about it. They have their own toys to play with and to show off. The value of the Treasure is simply not understood because our churches have watered it down and buried it under human ceremonies, customs, traditions and philosophies. We show off our worldly treasures and hide our heavenly treasure under our clay church pots. We just refuse to listen to Jesus any more. It is all about church.

The kingdom of heaven is like what happens when a net is thrown into a lake and catches all kinds of fish. When the net is full, it is dragged to the shore, and the fishermen sit down to separate the fish. They keep the good ones, but throw the bad ones away. That’s how it will be at the end of time. Angels will come and separate the evil people from the ones who have done right. Then those evil people will be thrown into a flaming furnace, where they will cry and grit their teeth in pain.

How large that net is. Every single person who claims to be a Christian, or to “follow God” or to “know Jesus” is in that net. But God is separating the fish. And it isn’t by church affiliation. He is separating by character. Are you sinless? Are you perfect? Do you live by the Ten Commandments? If you are taught that belonging to a certain religion or denomination or church will get you into God’s favor, you are lost. Salvation is an individual responsibility. Only you can work yourself into Heaven. Philippians 2:12. No other person, church or denomination can do it for you. Going to church is not “working out your salvation”. Going to church is working out your destruction. You will be thrown into a flaming furnace. If you don’t believe that, you don’t believe in Jesus. Like the Pharisees of Christ’s day, you do not understand these things and will die.

“It has ever been the design of Satan to draw the minds of the people from Jesus to man, and to destroy individual accountability. Satan failed in his design when he tempted the Son of God. He succeeded better as he came to fallen man. The doctrine of Christianity was corrupted. Popes and priests (churches) presumed to take an exalted position, and taught the people to look to them to pardon their sins (make them feel “saved”), instead of looking to Christ for themselves. The Bible was kept from them, in order to conceal the truths which would condemn them.” {1SG 108.1} Open up your Bibles and learn how to obey Jesus.

Jesus asked his disciples if they understood all these things. They said, “Yes, we do.” So he told them, “Every student of the Scriptures who becomes a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like someone who brings out new and old treasures from the storeroom.”

Once I became a “student of the Scriptures” and not church, I then became a “disciple in the kingdom of heaven”. God called me to bring out “new and old treasures from the storeroom”. And that is what I have been doing since 1997. God is using this ministry to try and awaken those who claim to be “His people” and “the Remnant”. But like the Jews of Christ’s day, they just refuse to listen. They have “church”, who needs God. They refuse to get into the Life Boat.

When Jesus had finished telling these stories, he left and went to his hometown. He taught in their meeting place, and the people were so amazed that they asked, “Where does he get all this wisdom and the power to work these miracles? Isn’t he the son of the carpenter? Isn’t Mary his mother, and aren’t James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas his brothers? Don’t his sisters still live here in our town? How can he do all this?”

Church people are no different than worldly people. Both are afraid that God is going to come and rain on their parade. They love their lives and the routine they have set up and do not want God to tell them He doesn’t approve. Like Lucifer in Heaven, they want to do it their way and they want God to approve. Therefore, they set up churches to tell them that God said it was all right for them to live as they want. After all, they are “saved by grace”.

So, when the Lord sends a servant to warn them and tell them what He wants, they have to discredit him, try to make him look no different than themselves. Like the Jews of Christ’s day, people today just don’t want to accept the life God demands of them. No, they love the world and what it has to offer. Church is big business. Since the people are unhappy with the servant God has sent, they go to church to listen to what they want to hear. But there is only one way to Heaven. Their church is going the other way.

At the time of Jeremiah, he was the only one in Jerusalem who was teaching the teachings of Jesus. There were many others who claimed to be prophets and teachers, and the people flocked to them since they taught the people what they wanted to hear. Jeremiah, like this ministry, was insulted, hated and ignored. While Jeremiah was telling the people to get out of their church, the church teachers, prophets, ministers and priests were telling the people to stay in church.

So the people were very unhappy because of what he was doing. But Jesus said, “Prophets are honored by everyone, except the people of their hometown and their own family (church).” And because the people did not have any faith, Jesus did not work many miracles there.

How many are missing out on the wonderful life, and the miracles Jesus offers them, because of their unbelief. Church people are so unhappy with what this ministry is doing. They have a historical belief, but they have no spiritual belief in Jesus. Their “belief” does not motivate them to action. They go to church sitting with the devil and believe as the devil does. But that belief will not get them into heaven any more than it will the devil. The sad fact is, the devil truly does believe in God. He lived with Him. Church people have absolutely no belief in God. They may believe some facts about the Bible: creation, flood, Mt. Sinai, etc., but none of the “facts” of the Bible will get you into heaven.

Over and over again Jesus was attempting to warn the people that their ship was sinking. Over and over again the people refused to listen and believe. The same today. I send out the messages God is giving me, but who is listening? Who cares? Everyone is so involved with their churches, the world and their families, who is listening?

About this time Herod the ruler heard the news about Jesus and told his officials, “This is John the Baptist! He has come back from death, and that’s why he has the power to work these miracles.” Herod had earlier arrested John and had him chained and put in prison. He did this because John had told him, “It isn’t right for you to take Herodias, the wife of your brother Philip.” Herod wanted to kill John. But the people thought John was a prophet, and Herod was afraid of what they might do. When Herod’s birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced for the guests. She pleased Herod so much that he swore to give her whatever she wanted. But the girl’s mother told her to say, “Here on a platter I want the head of John the Baptist!” The king was sorry for what he had said. But he did not want to break the promise he had made in front of his guests. So he ordered a guard to go to the prison and cut off John’s head. It was taken on a platter to the girl, and she gave it to her mother. John’s followers took his body and buried it. Then they told Jesus what had happened.

The experience of Herod is much like church people. They have invested so much in their church, as Herod did in his word, that they are unwilling to recognize they have made a mistake and get out of their “word”.

Herod didn’t like being told he was a sinner. The church leaders didn’t like being told they were sinners. The whole church was not pleased that John and Jesus were condemning them in their sins. They loved and wanted their church to tell them that all they had to do was go through their church ceremonies, systems and rituals and they would be saved. After all, they were in the “right” church. And all the time, that “right” church was plotting against those who were sent by God. How many church people have wanted my head on a platter!

After Jesus heard about John, he crossed Lake Galilee to go to some place where he could be alone.

For a very brief time Jesus and the disciples could be alone. Jesus let the disciples talk out their sadness, frustrations and loneliness. He understood and encouraged them to keep their eyes on the Father.

But the crowds found out and followed him on foot from the towns. When Jesus got out of the boat, he saw the large crowd. He felt sorry for them and healed everyone who was sick.

Do you feel sorry for those around you who are lost in church, lost in the world and lost in sadness, frustrations and loneliness? Today, Jesus pities and feels sorry for all those who are wasting their time going to church. What a loss. Why are you not sharing the good news that all they have to do is go to Jesus. All they have to do is follow Him. All they have to do is live in obedience to His Word and their lives would be filled with joy, happiness and salvation. Have you found Jesus?

That evening the disciples came to Jesus and said, “This place is like a desert, and it is already late. Let the crowds leave, so they can go to the villages and buy some food.”

Too many look around and become discouraged by the need. They do not believe they are capable of “feeding” the multitudes around them. Therefore, they try to get the crowds to leave “so they can go to the villages (churches) and buy some food (truth).” Jesus replied, “They don’t have to leave. Why don’t you give them something to eat?”

Why don’t you give them something to eat? You don’t have to point them to a church. You don’t have to call your minister? All you have to do is know your Bible and Jesus Christ so you can feed them the Words of Life.

But they said, “We have only five small loaves of bread and two fish.”

Do you feel that your “truth” is too small for the people? Do you feel inadequate to feed those around you?

Jesus asked his disciples to bring the food to him, and he told the crowd to sit down on the grass. Jesus took the five loaves and the two fish. He looked up toward heaven and blessed the food. Then he broke the bread and handed it to his disciples, and they gave it to the people.

If you will take what you have to Jesus, bring the people and invite them to sit in your home, then look up to Jesus and pray for the Spirit of God and He will multiply the truth in your hand to feed those around you. Use the material the Spirit of God has dictated to this ministry. It is waiting for you to distribute to the hungry.

After everyone had eaten all they wanted, Jesus’ disciples picked up twelve large baskets of leftovers.

Then, remember to gather up what you have learned. Don’t waste any truth the Spirit of God gave you. When the crowd is gone, be sure to spend time eating of God’s food for yourself so you will have plenty to share with others.

There were about five thousand men who ate, not counting the women and children.

Whether one or ten thousand (counting women and children), don’t be intimidated. God is by your side if you are walking with Him, not church. He will provide and multiply your abilities to serve God.

Right away, Jesus made his disciples get into a boat and start back across the lake. But he stayed until he had sent the crowds away. Then he went up on a mountain where he could be alone and pray. Later that evening, he was still there.

This also is a very important concept to keep in mind when working with people. This is why church becomes so dangerous. “Feeding the people” can become very prideful. In order to keep your head about you, don’t let the people congregate around you making your head swell. After feeding them, send them out to share with others and you go “alone and pray” for strength to keep your head on straight. Our churches and ministers have become very egotistical, prideful and elated with crowds and membership numbers. But they do not know God. The “food” they are feeding the people is rotten, sour and filled with worms.

By this time the boat was a long way from the shore. It was going against the wind and was being tossed around by the waves. A little while before morning, Jesus came walking on the water toward his disciples. When they saw him, they thought he was a ghost. They were terrified and started screaming. At once, Jesus said to them, “Don’t worry! I am Jesus. Don’t be afraid.”

Working for the Lord can be hazardous to your health. Many think that the “blessings” of God are lots of money, a big house, great car, good job and other worldly blessings. But the true blessings of God are storms in our lives. Going against the wind builds character. These help to produce the life that will fit us for heaven. As Jesus said about Paul, “I will shew him how great things he must suffer for My name’s sake.” Luke 9:16. Are you suffering for Jesus? The Bible is very plain, if you are not suffering for Jesus, you are not a disciple of Jesus. But if you are following Jesus, no matter what the storm, Jesus bids us, “Don’t be afraid”. He is testing and admonishing and disciplining us to prepare us for Heaven. Just trust and obey.

Peter replied, “Lord, if it is really you, tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come on!” Jesus said. Peter then got out of the boat and started walking on the water toward him. But when Peter saw how strong the wind was, he was afraid and started sinking. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. Right away, Jesus reached out his hand. He helped Peter up and said, “You surely don’t have much faith. Why do you doubt?” When Jesus and Peter got into the boat, the wind died down. The men in the boat worshiped Jesus and said, “You really are the Son of God!”

You see, without storms in our lives, we would forget God. We would become proud and arrogant like our churches. Peter took his eyes off of Jesus. Why? He turned to see if the other disciples were watching him walk on water. He got a big head. That is what is wrong with our churches. We are looking at them to see if they are looking at us doing some great work. Our churches are sinking. It is because of the storms we realize we need Jesus and when we call out to Him, He is there ready to reach out and save us. Get your eyes off of church and people and put them firmly on Jesus. Bringing Jesus into your life will calm the storm and bring peace.

Testimony for God's People

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I do not want to interrupt the following article (too much) in order to bring it up-to-date. So I will share with you preliminary information here, so you can better understand what is being written by the prophet of God.

This article was written around 1885. The “church” was purer at that time. The church itself was teaching the original message that God gave in the messages of the 1840’s and 1850’s. That message was the substance of what we call the 1st, 2nd and 3rd angels’ messages. The substance was: Stop sinning, be perfect and keep the Ten Commandments to get your eternal life. They believed Jesus was coming because of a mistake in understanding of what the “tabernacle” was. God allowed that misunderstanding in order to test His people. They had to be perfect, without sin, in order to be prepared for the coming of Jesus.

Jesus did not come because the people did not change their lives. The “church” from the 1840’s through 1861 was not a denomination or building, but a movement of people who were preparing their lives for the soon coming of Jesus. They were getting sin out of their lives by living the Ten Commandment life. However, by 1863, the majority of those in the movement fell away from the original message and the coming of Jesus had to be postponed. The “church” instead of doing the work God called it to do, slipped and fell and became like the worldly churches. It set up a denomination and slowly apostatized. It began teaching the shell but not the substance.

A hundred years later, by the 1960’s, it was no longer the “Church of God”. It had completely rejected the messages given by God. It was more interested in becoming famous, wealthy and popular. The institutions God had set up through it were no longer performing as God had commanded them too. They no longer prepare people for the coming of Jesus. They no longer prepare people to live the perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life. Now, the “church” has accepted the popular theology of “Saved by Grace”, “Unconditional love of God”, going to church on Sunday and “We can’t be perfect”. Preparing people for the world has become the object of our churches, schools, health and food institutions.

Therefore, when you read the following article, keep in mind the times and conditions. We are worse off today than then. The message of this article would be akin to Isaiah and the fallen church of his day. It helped to stem the tide, but did not reverse the flow. Today, God has raised up this ministry much as He did Jeremiah for a completely fallen church. It cannot be saved. The true “church” of God is now, as it has always been, those who are obedient to the teachings of Jesus to be perfect, stop sinning and to keep the Ten Commandments to get our eternal life.

Let us never take concepts out of context and try to prove our opinions based on information that was given in a different time, place and spiritual circumstance. The church today that claims to keep God’s commandments and the Sabbath day holy, is doing nothing of the sort. It is like the Jews of Christ’s day, hollow, shallow and fallen. Keep in mind, “going to church” on the Sabbath is found nowhere in all the Bible. God never commanded it. Going to church does not make the Sabbath “holy”. Living perfectly without sin does. You must be holy to keep the Sabbath holy, for “in order to keep the Sabbath holy, men must themselves be holy.” {DA 283}. Going to church only makes you a good Catholic.

The message you are about to read you must take personally. It is for you. If you are not living as Jesus commands: perfect, sinless and commandment keeping, you are not of God’s church. It does not matter what “church” you sit in. All that matters to God is your character. So take warning and change your life. Jesus postponed His Second Coming, He did not cancel it. With or without you, He is now preparing to come. Please, go to our web site and read, study and watch the material that God has been dictating and directing over the last 20 years.

Also, keep in mind that the “treasury” of God has nothing to do with a “church”. The funds that God has given us is to go to those who teach the teachings of Jesus. If the church, institution or organization you are supporting no longer teaches people to stop sinning, be perfect and keep the Ten Commandments to get their eternal life, they are not of God. The Bible tells us that if you are supporting those who are not teaching the teachings of Jesus, you are participating in their wickedness. (2 John 7-11). The movement God raised up in the 1840’s to prepare the world for His coming has become a “worldly church” and is fallen as the Israeli nation fell. If you continue to support it, you are supporting wickedness and will be destroyed.

God is asking you to help those ministries that are teaching people to prepare for the close of probation by living as Jesus commands: perfect, sinless and commandment keeping. It is time to wake up. It is time to get serious. Your church has been putting you to sleep long enough. If you don’t wake up you will be one of the five virgins who refused to fill their lamps with oil. That oil is the perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life of Jesus.

Keep in mind, “Church” is not a denomination or organization. “Church” to God are those who are living as He commands: perfect, sinless and commandment keeping. They are the true “saints” of God and make up His “Church”. His “Church” is spiritual, not physical. To belong to His Church you must live as Jesus lived. Please keep in mind, in this article, when the word “professors” is used, it means “those who claim (profess) to be Christian”.

The Church the Light of the World

The Lord called out His people Israel and separated them from the world that He might commit to them a sacred trust. He made them the depositaries of His law, and He designed, through them, to preserve among men the knowledge of Himself. Through them the light of heaven was to shine out to the dark places of the earth, and a voice was to be heard appealing to all peoples to turn from their idolatry to serve the living and true God. Had the Hebrews been true to their trust, they would have been a power in the world. God would have been their defense, and He would have exalted them above all other nations. His light and truth would have been revealed through them, and they would have stood forth under His wise and holy rule as an example of the superiority of His government over every form of idolatry.

But they did not keep their covenant with God. They followed after the idolatrous practices of other nations, (going to church on Sunday - Baal worship) and instead of making their Creator’s name a praise in the earth their course held it up to the contempt of the heathen. Yet the purpose of God must be accomplished. The knowledge of His will must be spread abroad in the earth. God brought the hand of the oppressor upon His people and scattered them as captives among the nations. In affliction many of them repented of their transgressions and sought the Lord. Scattered throughout the countries of the heathen, they spread abroad the knowledge of the true God. The principles of the divine law came in conflict with the customs and practices of the nations. Idolaters endeavored to crush out the true faith. The Lord in His providence brought His servants, Daniel, Nehemiah, Ezra, face to face with kings and rulers, that these idolaters might have an opportunity to receive the light. Thus the work which God had given His people to do in prosperity, in their own borders, but which had been neglected through their unfaithfulness, was done by them in captivity, under great trial and embarrassment.

God has called His church in this day, as He called ancient Israel, to stand as a light in the earth. By the mighty cleaver of truth, the messages of the first, second, and third angels, He has separated them from the churches and from the world to bring them into a sacred nearness to Himself. He has made them the depositaries of His law and has committed to them the great truths of prophecy for this time. Like the holy oracles committed to ancient Israel, these are a sacred trust to be communicated to the world. The three angels of Revelation 14 represent the people who accept the light of God’s messages and go forth as His agents to sound the warning throughout the length and breadth of the earth. Christ declares to His followers: “Ye are the light of the world.” To every soul that accepts Jesus the cross of Calvary speaks: “Behold the worth of the soul: ‘Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.’” Nothing is to be permitted to hinder this work. It is the all-important work for time; it is to be far-reaching as eternity. The love that Jesus manifested for the souls of men in the sacrifice which He made for their redemption, will actuate all His followers.

But very few of those who have received the light are doing the work entrusted to their hands. There are a few men of unswerving fidelity who do not study ease, convenience, or life itself, who push their way wherever they can find an opening to press the light of truth and vindicate the holy law of God. But the sins that control the world have come into the churches, and into the hearts of those who claim to be God’s peculiar people. Many who have received the light exert an influence to quiet the fears of worldlings and formal professors. There are lovers of the world even among those who profess to be waiting for the Lord. There is ambition for riches and honor. Christ describes this class when He declares that the day of God is to come as a snare upon all that dwell upon the earth. This world is their home. They make it their business to secure earthly treasures. They erect costly dwellings and furnish them with every good thing; they find pleasure in dress and the indulgence of appetite. The things of the world are their idols. These interpose between the soul and Christ, and the solemn and awful realities that are crowding upon us are but dimly seen and faintly realized. The same disobedience and failure which were seen in the Jewish church have characterized in a greater degree the people who have had this great light from heaven in the last messages of warning. Shall we, like them, squander our opportunities and privileges until God shall permit oppression and persecution to come upon us? Will the work which might be performed in peace and comparative prosperity be left undone until it must be performed in days of darkness, under the pressure of trial and persecution?

church

There is a terrible amount of guilt for which the church is responsible. Why are not those who have the light putting forth earnest efforts to give that light to others? They see that the end is near. They see multitudes daily transgressing God’s law; and they know that these souls cannot be saved in transgression. Yet they have more interest in their trades, their farms, their houses, their merchandise, their dress, their tables, than in the souls of men and women whom they must meet face to face in the judgment. The people who claim to obey the truth are asleep. They could not be at ease as they are if they were awake. The love of the truth is dying out of their hearts. Their example is not such as to convince the world that they have truth in advance of every other people upon the earth. At the very time when they should be strong in God, having a daily, living experience, they are feeble, hesitating, relying upon the preachers for support, when they should be ministering to others with mind and soul and voice and pen and time and money.

Please folks, get out of your churches now. Stop relying upon your church and preachers! Study the Word of God and know it for yourself.

Brethren and sisters, many of you excuse yourselves from labor on the plea of inability to work for others. But did God make you so incapable? Was not this inability produced by your own inactivity and perpetuated by your own deliberate choice? Did not God give you at least one talent to improve, not for your own convenience and gratification, but for Him? Have you realized your obligation, as His hired servant, to bring a revenue to Him by the wise and skillful use of this entrusted capital? Have you not neglected opportunities to improve your powers to this end? It is too true that few have felt any real sense of their responsibility to God. Love, judgment, memory, foresight, tact, energy, and every other faculty have been devoted to self. You have displayed greater wisdom in the service of evil than in the cause of God. You have perverted, disabled, nay, even besotted your powers, by your intense activity in worldly pursuits to the neglect of God’s work.

Still you soothe your conscience by saying that you cannot undo the past, and gain the vigor, the strength, and the skill which you might have had if you had employed your powers as God required. But remember that He holds you responsible for the work negligently done or left undone through your unfaithfulness. The more you exercise your powers for the Master, the more apt and skillful you will become. The more closely you connect yourself with the Source of light and power, the greater light will be shed upon you, and the greater power will be yours to use for God. And for all that you might have had, but failed to obtain through your devotion to the world, you are responsible. When you became a follower of Christ you pledged yourself to serve Him and Him alone, and He promised to be with you and bless you, to refresh you with His light, to grant you His peace, and to make you joyful in His work. Have you failed to experience these blessings? Be sure it is the result of your own course.

In order to escape the draft during the war, there were men who induced disease, others maimed themselves that they might be rendered unfit for service. Here is an illustration of the course which many have been pursuing in relation to the cause of God. They have crippled their powers, both physical and mental, so that they are unable to do the work which is so greatly needed.
The greatest crippler is the church. It has nothing to do with eternal life and maims its members to keep them from working for Jesus. Sitting in church has nothing to do with working for Jesus. Get out now before it is too late.

Suppose that a sum of money were placed in your hands to invest for a certain purpose; would you throw it away and declare that you were not now responsible for its use? Would you feel that you had saved yourself a great care? Yet this is what you have been doing with the gifts of God. To excuse yourself from working for others on the plea of inability, while you are all absorbed in worldly pursuits, is mockery of God. Multitudes are going down to ruin; the people who have received light and truth are but as a handful to withstand all the host of evil; and yet this little company are devoting their energies to anything and everything but to learning how they may rescue souls from death. Is it any marvel that the church is weak and inefficient, that God can do but little for His professed people? They place themselves where it is impossible for Him to work with them and for them. Dare you continue thus to disregard His claims? Will you still trifle with heaven’s most sacred trusts? Will you say with Cain: “Am I my brother’s keeper?”

Remember that your responsibility is measured, not by your present resources and capacities, but by the powers originally bestowed and the possibilities for improvement. The question which each one should ask himself is not whether he is now inexperienced and unfit to labor in God’s cause, but how and why he is in this condition, and how it can be remedied. God will not supernaturally endow us with the qualifications which we lack; but while we exert the ability we have, He will work with us to increase and strengthen every faculty; our dormant energies will be aroused, and powers which have long been palsied will receive new life.

I have found this so true in my life. I never would have believed what I have done over the past 20 years in this ministry. It is all because I simply stepped out and obeyed the call and am doing my duty. God is teaching me and working with me to increase and strengthen every faculty that I now have. What I have learned in printing, movie making, web design, computers, animation and so much more is unbelievable. He will do the same for you if you will get out of your church and lay your lives before God and listen to Him and Him alone.

So long as we are in the world, we must have to do with the things of the world. There will ever be a necessity for the transaction of temporal, secular business; but this should never become all-absorbing. The apostle Paul has given a safe rule: “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.” The humble, common duties of life are all to be performed with fidelity; “heartily,” says the apostle, “as to the Lord.” Whatever our department of labor, be it housework or field work or intellectual pursuits, we may perform it to the glory of God so long as we make Christ first and last and best in everything. But aside from these worldly employments there is given to every follower of Christ a special work for the upbuilding of His kingdom—a work which requires personal effort for the salvation of men. It is not a work to be performed once a week merely, at the place of worship, but at all times and all places.

Everyone who connects himself with the church makes in that act a solemn vow to work for the interest of the church and to hold that interest above every worldly consideration. It is his work to preserve a living connection with God, to engage with heart and soul in the great scheme of redemption, and to show, in his life and character, the excellency of God’s commandments in contrast with the customs and precepts of the world. Every soul that has made a profession of Christ has pledged himself to be all that it is possible for him to be as a spiritual worker, to be active, zealous, and efficient in his Master’s service. Christ expects every man to do his duty; let this be the watchword throughout the ranks of His followers.

We are not to wait to be solicited to give light, to be importuned for counsel or instruction. Everyone who receives the rays of the Sun of Righteousness is to reflect its brightness to all about him. His religion should have a positive and decided influence. His prayers and entreaties should be so imbued with the Holy Spirit that they will melt and subdue the soul. Said Jesus: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” It would be better for a worldling never to have seen a professor (one who claims to be a Christian) of religion than to come under the influence of one who is ignorant of the power of godliness. If Christ were our pattern, His life our rule, what zeal would be manifested, what efforts put forth, what liberality exercised, what self-denial practiced! How untiringly should we labor, what fervent petitions for power and wisdom would ascend to God! If all the professed children of God would feel that it is the chief business of life to do the work which He has bidden them to do, if they would labor unselfishly in His cause, what a change would be seen in hearts and homes, in churches, yea, in the world itself!

Vigilance and fidelity have been required of Christ’s followers in every age; but now that we are standing upon the very verge of the eternal world, holding the truths we do, having so great light, so important a work, we must double our diligence. Everyone is to do to the very utmost of his ability. My brother, you endanger your own salvation if you hold back now. God will call you to account if you fail in the work He has assigned you. Have you a knowledge of the truth? Give it to others.

What can I say to arouse our churches? What can I say to those who have acted a prominent part in the proclamation of the last message? “The Lord is coming,” should be the testimony borne, not only by the lips, but by the life and character; but many to whom God has given light and knowledge, talents of influence and means, are men who do not love the truth and do not practice it. They have drunk so deeply from the intoxicating cup of selfishness and worldliness that they have become drunken with the cares of this life. Brethren, if you continue to be as idle, as worldly, as selfish as you have been, God will surely pass you by, and take those who are less self-caring, less ambitious for worldly honor, and who will not hesitate to go, as did their Master, without the camp, bearing the reproach. The work will be given to those who will take it, those who prize it, who weave its principles into their everyday experience. God will choose humble men who are seeking to glorify His name and advance His cause rather than to honor and advance themselves. He will raise up men who have not so much worldly wisdom, but who are connected with Him, and who will seek strength and counsel from above.

The phrase, “The Lord is coming”, for them meant that you must stop sinning, be perfect and to keep the Ten Commandments to get eternal life. Today, it means nothing that it did back in the 1860’s. Today it is nothing but a lifeless phrase, useless in meaning that does nothing to warn people of the requirements for eternal life: perfect, sinless obedience to the Ten Commandments.

Some of our leading men are inclined to indulge the spirit manifested by the apostle John when he said: “Master, we saw one casting out devils in Thy name; and we forbade him, because he followeth not with us.” Organization and discipline are essential, but there is now very great danger of a departure from the simplicity of the gospel of Christ. What we need is less dependence upon mere form and ceremony, and far more of the power of true godliness. If their life and character are exemplary, let all work who will, in any capacity. Although they may not conform exactly to your methods, not a word should be spoken to condemn or discourage them. When the Pharisees desired Jesus to silence the children who sang His praise, the Saviour said: “If these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.” Prophecy must be fulfilled. So in these days, the work must be done. There are many departments of labor; let everyone act a part as best he can. The man with one talent is not to bury that in the earth. God has given to every man his work according to his ability. Those to whom larger trusts and capabilities have been committed should not endeavor to silence others who are less able or experienced. Men with one talent may reach a class that those with two or five talents cannot approach. Great and small alike are chosen vessels to bear the water of life to thirsting souls. Let not those who preach the word lay their hands upon the humblest worker and say: “You must labor in this channel or not work at all.” Hands off, brethren. Let everyone work in his own sphere, with his own armor on, doing whatever he can do in his humble way. Strengthen his hands in the work. This is no time for pharisaism to control. Let God work through whom He will. The message must go.

All are to show their fidelity to God (not church) by the wise use of His entrusted capital, not in means alone, but in any endowment that will tend to the upbuilding of His kingdom. Satan will employ every possible device to prevent the truth from reaching those who are buried in error; but the voice of warning and entreaty must come to them. And while only a few are engaged in this work, thousands ought to be as much interested as they. God never designed that the lay members of the church should be excused from labor in His cause. “Go, labor in My vineyard,” is the Master’s command to each of His followers. As long as there are unconverted souls in the world, there should be the most active, earnest, zealous, determined effort for their salvation. Those who have received the light should seek to enlighten those who have it not. If the church members do not individually take hold of this work, then they show that they have no living connection with God. Their names are registered as slothful servants. Can you not discern the reason why there is no more spirituality in our churches? It is because you are not colaborers with Christ.

God has given to every man his work. Let us each wait on God, and He will teach us how to work and what work we are best adapted to perform. Yet none are to start out in an independent spirit to promulgate new theories. The workers should be in harmony with the truth and with their brethren. There should be counsel and co-operation. But they are not to feel that at every step they must wait to ask some higher officer if they may do this or that. Look not to man for guidance, but to the God of Israel.

Unfortunately, how the church loves to accept those who have started out in an independent spirit to promulgate new theories. It loves to hear and support new theories. But when God sends His servants to teach the old truths that Jesus taught, they are hated, shunned and called, “Independents”. How sad. How far the church has fallen. All “brethren” are to be “in harmony with the truth” as Jesus taught it. But the church wants you to be in harmony with the church and the Catholic doctrines they are now teaching. How sad. Get out of your church now. The churches, all churches, which also includes those going to church on Sabbath, have fallen. Now the individual members will have to do the work without the “church” to back them since the church has fallen. It will only get worse. Know your truth. Know your Bible. Know what Jesus taught and start teaching and living it.

The work which the church (members) has failed to do in a time of peace and prosperity she will have to do in a terrible crisis under most discouraging, forbidding circumstances. The warnings that worldly conformity has silenced or withheld must be given under the fiercest opposition from enemies of the faith. And at that time the superficial, conservative class, whose influence has steadily retarded the progress of the work, will renounce the faith and take their stand with its avowed enemies, toward whom their sympathies have long been tending. These apostates will then manifest the most bitter enmity, doing all in their power to oppress and malign their former brethren and to excite indignation against them. This day is just before us. The members of the church will individually be tested and proved. They will be placed in circumstances where they will be forced to bear witness for the truth. Many will be called to speak before councils and in courts of justice, perhaps separately and alone. The experience which would have helped them in this emergency they have neglected to obtain, and their souls are burdened with remorse for wasted opportunities and neglected privileges.

Understand, the “superficial, conservative class, whose influence has steadily retarded the progress of the work, will renounce the faith and take their stand with its avowed enemies, toward whom their sympathies have long been tending.” Those people will not leave the “church”. They are the church. The church system has renounced the faith and are turning the church against us “to oppress and malign their former brethren and to excite indignation against them.” We who have left the fallen church will be oppressed by church members who have renounced the faith as Jesus taught it. As the disciples of Christ were oppressed by the church of their day, so are we who teach the teachings of Jesus. Sabbath churches have now joined Sunday churches.

My brother, my sister, ponder these things, I beseech you. You have each a work to do. Your unfaithfulness and neglect are registered against you in the Ledger of Heaven. You have diminished your powers and lessened your capabilities. You lack the experience and efficiency which you might have had. But before it is forever too late, I urge you to arouse. Delay no longer. The day is almost spent. The westering sun is about sinking forever from your sight. Yet while the blood of Christ is pleading, you may find pardon. Summon every energy of the soul, employ the few remaining hours in earnest labor for God and for your fellow men.

My heart is stirred to the very depths. Words are inadequate to express my feelings as I plead for perishing souls. Must I plead in vain? As Christ’s ambassador I would arouse you to labor as you never labored before. Your duty cannot be shifted upon another. No one but yourself can do your work. If you withhold your light, someone must be left in darkness through your neglect.

Eternity stretches before us. The curtain is about to be lifted. We who occupy this solemn, responsible position, what are we doing, what are we thinking about, that we cling to our selfish love of ease, while souls are perishing around us? Have our hearts become utterly callous? Cannot we feel or understand that we have a work to do for the salvation of others? Brethren, are you of the class who having eyes see not, and having ears hear not? Is it in vain that God has given you a knowledge of His will? Is it in vain that He has sent you warning after warning? Do you believe the declarations of eternal truth concerning what is about to come upon the earth, do you believe that God’s judgments are hanging over the people, and can you still sit at ease, indolent, careless, pleasure loving (in your churches)?

“God will surely punish the transgressor. Although he may bear with him for a while, his punishment may come suddenly. Such do not always realize that judgments are from God. He is a jealous God, and requires heart service and perfect obedience to all his commandments.” {3SG 293.1}

It is no time now for God’s people to be fixing their affections or laying up their treasure in the world. The time is not far distant, when, like the early disciples, we shall be forced to seek a refuge in desolate and solitary places. As the siege of Jerusalem by the Roman armies was the signal for flight to the Judean Christians, so the assumption of power on the part of our nation in the decree enforcing the papal sabbath will be a warning to us. It will then be time to leave the large cities, preparatory to leaving the smaller ones for retired homes in secluded places among the mountains. And now, instead of seeking expensive dwellings here, we should be preparing to move to a better country, even a heavenly. Instead of spending our means in self-gratification, we should be studying to economize. Every talent lent of God should be used to His glory in giving the warning to the world. God has a work for His colaborers to do in the cities. Our missions must be sustained; new missions must be opened. To carry forward this work successfully will require no small outlay. Houses of worship are needed, where the people may be invited to hear the truths for this time. For this very purpose, God has entrusted a capital to His stewards. Let not your property be tied up in worldly enterprises, so that this work shall be hindered. Get your means where you can handle it for the benefit of the cause of God. Send your treasures before you into heaven.

What is so sad, is those missions and institutions that were set up by God are now nothing but money making idols of worldly endeavor. The salaries commanded by the workers is totally unacceptable to God. Our health and educational institutions consume far more funds than necessary in expensive and gaudy buildings and produce nothing for eternal life. Self-gratification, selfishness, worldly ambition has taken the place of living for Jesus. Unless you give up this world and live as Jesus lived: perfect, sinless and commandment keeping, you have no eternal life. The “houses of worship” that are needed are not churches. They are “houses”. You must get out of your church and do what the early Christians did, open up your homes and begin sharing the truth that the churches no longer teach.

The members of the church should individually hold themselves and all their possessions upon the altar of God. Now, as never before, the Saviour’s admonition is applicable: “Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Those who are fastening their means in large houses, in lands, in worldly enterprises, are saying by their actions: “God cannot have it; I want it for myself.” They have bound up their one talent in a napkin and hid it in the earth. There is cause for such to be alarmed. Brethren, God has not entrusted means to you to lie idle nor to be covetously retained or hid away, but to be used to advance His cause, to save the souls of the perishing. It is not the time now to bind up the Lord’s money in your expensive buildings and your large enterprises, while His cause is crippled and left to beg its way, the treasury half-supplied. The Lord is not in this way of working. Remember, the day is fast approaching when it will be said: “Give an account of thy stewardship.” Can you not discern the signs of the times?

Again, find out if the organization you are sending your money to is teaching people to stop sinning, be perfect and to keep the Ten Commandments to get their eternal life. If they are not, you must stop supporting the devil. God’s treasury in this little ministry is in need. Will you help?

Every day that passes brings us nearer the last great important day. We are one year nearer the judgment, nearer eternity, than we were at the beginning of 1884. Are we also drawing nearer to God? Are we watching unto prayer? Another year of our time to labor has rolled into eternity. Every day we have been associating with men and women who are judgment bound. Each day may have been the dividing line to some soul; someone may have made the decision which shall determine his future destiny. What has been our influence over these fellow travelers? What efforts have we put forth to bring them to Christ?

It is a solemn thing to die, but a far more solemn thing to live. Every thought and word and deed of our lives will meet us again. What we make of ourselves in probationary time, that we must remain to all eternity. Death brings dissolution to the body, but makes no change in the character. The coming of Christ does not change our characters; it only fixes them forever beyond all change.

God will not change your character when He comes. You must now be living the perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life or you will be burned up. Wake up, get up out of your church and begin learning from Jesus.

Again I appeal to the members of the church to be Christians, to be Christlike. Jesus was a worker, not for Himself, but for others. He labored to bless and save the lost. If you are Christians you will imitate His example. He has laid the foundation, and we are builders together with Him. But what material are we bringing to lay on this foundation? “Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.” If you are devoting all your strength and talent to the things of this world, your lifework is represented by wood, hay, and stubble, to be consumed by the fires of the last day. But unselfish labor for Christ and the future life will be as gold, silver, and precious stones; it is imperishable.

My brethren and sisters, awake, I beseech you, from the sleep of death. It is too late to devote the strength of brain, bone, and muscle to self-serving. Let not the last day find you destitute of heavenly treasure. Seek to push the triumphs of the cross, seek to enlighten souls, labor for the salvation of your fellow beings, and your work will abide the trying test of fire.

“If any man’s work abide, ... he shall receive a reward.” Glorious will be the reward bestowed when the faithful workers are gathered about the throne of God and the Lamb. When John in his mortal state beheld the glory of God, he fell as one dead; he was not able to endure the sight. But when mortal shall have put on immortality, the ransomed ones are like Jesus, for they see Him as He is. They stand before the throne, signifying that they are accepted. All their sins are blotted out, all their transgressions borne away. Now they can look upon the undimmed glory from the throne of God. They have been partakers with Christ of His sufferings, they have been workers together with Him in the plan of redemption, and they are partakers with Him in the joy of beholding souls saved through their instrumentality to praise God through all eternity. {5T 454-467}

As you can see, the Light has gone out of our churches. Get out now before it is too late. They are doing just what the early Christians did, making it “easy” for the pagans to become “Christian”. Now we open our churches on Sunday so the pagans can come to hear the same message they hear in their Sunday churches. Sabbath churches no longer know what the Gospel is. They do not know Jesus. They have all fallen.

I thank God for all our donors who have been so faithful last year in supporting this little ministry. I am praying that God will send someone who can begin our Spanish department so we can put our material out in Spanish. I want to reach the Spanish speaking inmates with the truth. How powerful it would be. Maybe there is someone you know who can translate the book, “Change Your Life Biblically” so we can at least get the book out in Spanish.

God bless you and keep you this new year.

Love in Christ,

Ron

Here is the inside of a card Charles sent me from a Texas prison. He and all his Bible study buddies signed it. God bless our brothers and sisters in prison.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your love to God through this ministry. Thousands of inmates are hearing, for the first time, the gospel as taught by Jesus. Lives that would never have had an opportunity to be in heaven are now being taught how to travel on the narrow path. Your tithes and offerings keep this little ministry going. Each month from $500 to $700 is spent on postage. More on paper, ink, toner and envelopes. Equipment that needs upkeep and new equipment that needs purchasing to keep the truth going out depends on your monthly commitment. We are reaching over 6,000 people over the internet each day because of your donations. Thousands who otherwise would never have heard the love of Jesus and the conditions of heaven, would be lost. It is all done on less than about $2,000 each month. Please pray for hearts to be touched. May God bless you for your love.
