Letters of John, con't

My Dear Family in Christ,

Let us continue now in our study of “The Letters of John”. John, the beloved disciple, was the longest living of the disciples. I am beginning to believe that it isn’t food or genes or work that keeps us alive, I am beginning to believe that it is the power of love that produces long life here and for eternity. Let us listen now to a heart filled with love for His Savior. Let us open our hearts, minds and souls to a heart who had walked, talked and touched the “Word of Life”.

1st John 4 through 3rd John

Dear friends, stop believing every spirit. Instead, test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize God’s Spirit: Every spirit who acknowledges that Jesus the Messiah has become human—and remains so—is from God. But every spirit who does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist. You have heard that he is coming, and now he is already in the world.

John was having the same problem in his day. People were blindly going to church and accepting whatever the church, pastor or leadership shoved at them. They were sleeping in their sins and were not willing to “test the spirits to see whether they were from God”. They were not willing to continue testing to make sure their church or leaders had not fallen away from God. Why? Same as today, lazy, afraid they might have made a mistake and are not willing to acknowledge it, don’t want to change their sinful lives. You name it, we have a thousand ways to go to hell, but there is only one very narrow Way to Eternal life. Pride and ego are so deadly.

Instead of acknowledging Jesus, they were acknowledging their church, pastor and denomination. The only way to “acknowledge that Jesus” is the Messiah, is to be obedient to His teachings. You cannot be a follower of Jesus or believe that He is from God if you do not obey what He teaches. You are breaking the 3rd commandment by taking the name of God in vain by “claiming”, but not obeying that name. If you are not following His teachings to be perfect, to stop sinning and to keep the Ten Commandments for your eternal life, you have the “spirit of the antichrist”. It is that simple. To “acknowledge” Jesus is to be obedient to Him. Those who “acknowledge” Christ are living as He commands: perfect, sinless. “Not everyone who calls Me their Lord will get into the kingdom of heaven. Only the ones who obey My Father in heaven will get in.” Matthew 7:21.

Little children, you belong to God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. These people belong to the world. That is why they speak from the world’s perspective, and the world listens to them. We belong to God. The person who knows God listens to us. Whoever does not belong to God does not listen to us. This is how we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deceit.

And how do we know we “belong to God”, because we “have overcome them”. Unless you are living the perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life, you have not overcome. You are still living in sin and believe the lies that the church is teaching. John belonged to God and those who are born of God will listen to John and be obedient to His teachings. Why? Because he taught and lived what Jesus commanded him to live and teach. Jesus said, “Go into all the world teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:20. And so the disciples did. And we are to follow their example as they followed the example of Jesus who came into the world to teach us to obey everything His Father had commanded Him to teach. Those who are not living in obedience to the teachings of Jesus to be perfect, sinless and commandment keeping are not of God.

Dear friends, let us continually love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born from God and knows God. The person who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

And what is “LOVE”? “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” John 14:15. How simple. Love is obedience to the Commandments of God. It is living His perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life. If you are not living perfect and sinless, you do not know God, nor do you love Him. You may know church, you may know your pastor, you may know church leadership, you may “love” your pastor, church and denomination, but you don’t know or love God and will die eternally.

This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent his unique Son into the world so that we might live through him. This is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, if this is the way God loved us, we must also love one another.

How did God love us? In obedience to that love, He came and gave His life in obedience to the Law of the Kingdom of Heaven. He showed us through His “atoning sacrifice for our sins” how to sacrifice for Him and each other. In the Garden of Gethsemane “the divine Son of God was fainting, dying. . . Could mortals have viewed the amazement and the sorrow of the angelic host as they watched in silent grief the Father separating His beams of light, love, and glory from the beloved Son of His bosom, they would better understand how offensive sin is in His sight.” {2T 206}

But how little we are willing to “understand how offensive sin is in His sight”. We love our sins and expect to be praised and honored by God who gave His life to redeem us from sin. Once we settle on “our” opinion, how hard it is for the prideful heart to surrender to the truth. How hard to admit that “I was wrong” and need to change my opinions, beliefs and ideas that are contrary to the teachings of Jesus. We would rather go to hell holding on to our opinions than to go to heaven believing the teachings of Jesus. We must stop sinning. We must live as Jesus lived.

“Who can comprehend the love here displayed! The angelic host beheld with wonder and with grief Him who had been the Majesty of heaven, and who had worn the crown of glory, now wearing the crown of thorns, a bleeding victim to the rage of an infuriated mob, fired to insane madness by the wrath of Satan. Behold the patient Sufferer! Upon His head is the thorny crown. His lifeblood flows from every lacerated vein. All this in consequence of sin! Nothing could have induced Christ to leave His honor and majesty in heaven, and come to a sinful world, to be neglected, despised, and rejected by those He came to save, and finally to suffer upon the cross, but eternal, redeeming love, which will ever remain a mystery. {2T 207}

That is how we are to show our love to God. Not by going to church, not by praising our minister or denomination, but by sacrificing our lives, our opinions and beliefs in service to those around us in bringing them the Law of the Kingdom of Heaven. As He sent His Son, so He is sending you. You are only a “son” or “daughter” of God if you obey His “sending” and go into the world sacrificing your life teaching them “to obey everything” He has commanded. Open your home and use the material God has given to this ministry to begin teaching people.

“Love is power. Intellectual and moral strength are involved in this principle, and cannot be separated from it. The power of wealth has a tendency to corrupt and destroy; the power of force is strong to do hurt; but the excellence and value of pure love consist in its efficiency to do good, and to do nothing else than good. Whatsoever is done out of pure love, be it ever so little or contemptible in the sight of men, is wholly fruitful; for God regards more with how much love one worketh than the amount he doeth. Love is of God. The unconverted heart cannot originate nor produce this plant of heavenly growth, which lives and flourishes only where Christ reigns.

“Love cannot live without action, and every act increases, strengthens, and extends it. Love will gain the victory when argument and authority are powerless. Love works not for profit nor reward; yet God has ordained that great gain shall be the certain result of every labor of love. It is diffusive in its nature and quiet in its operation, yet strong and mighty in its purpose to overcome great evils. It is melting and transforming in its influence, and will take hold of the lives of the sinful and affect their hearts when every other means has proved unsuccessful. Wherever the power of intellect, of authority, or of force is employed, and love is not manifestly present, the affections and will of those whom we seek to reach assume a defensive, repelling position, and their strength of resistance is increased. Jesus was the Prince of Peace. He came into the world to bring resistance and authority into subjection to Himself. Wisdom and strength He could command, but the means He employed with which to overcome evil were the wisdom and strength of love. . . . Seek not for happiness, for it is never to be found by seeking for it. Go about your duty. Let faithfulness mark all your doings, and be clothed with humility.

“‘Whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them.’ Blessed results would appear as the fruit of such a course. ‘With what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.’ Here are strong motives which should constrain us to love one another with a pure heart, fervently. Christ is our example. He went about doing good. He lived to bless others. Love beautified and ennobled all His actions. We are not commanded to do to ourselves what we wish others to do unto us; we are to do unto others what we wish them to do to us under like circumstances. The measure we mete is always measured to us again. Pure love is simple in its operations, and is distinct from any other principle of action. The love of influence and the desire for the esteem of others may produce a well-ordered life and frequently a blameless conversation. Self-respect may lead us to avoid the appearance of evil. A selfish heart may perform generous actions, acknowledge the present truth, and express humility and affection in an outward manner, yet the motives may be deceptive and impure; the actions that flow from such a heart may be destitute of the savor of life and the fruits of true holiness, being destitute of the principles of pure love. Love should be cherished and cultivated, for its influence is divine.”{2T 135-136}

No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us. This is how we know that we abide in him and he in us: he has given us his Spirit. We have seen for ourselves and can testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. God abides in the one who acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, and he abides in God.

The devils believe that “Jesus is the Son of God”. They are not confused in the least. So what is the difference between a devil’s “belief” and a Christian’s “belief”? Only one thing. A Christian demonstrates his belief by obeying the teachings of Jesus to be perfect, stop sinning and to keep the Ten Commandments to get eternal life. That is how “we abide in him and he in us”. The Spirit is not given to the devils who believe but refuse to obey. The Spirit is not given to those who claim to be “Christian” but refuse to obey. The Spirit is only given to those who “abide in him” in perfect obedience to the teachings of Jesus.

We have come to know and rely on the love that God has for us. God is love, and the person who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. This is how love has been perfected among us: we will have confidence on the day of judgment because, during our time in this world, we are just like him. There is no fear where love exists. Rather, perfect love banishes fear, for fear involves punishment, and the person who lives in fear has not been perfected in love.

How do we know we abide in God? Because “during our time in this world” we have been developing His nature, His character, His Law to abide in us. If we are living in obedience to the teachings of Jesus to be perfect, to stop sinning and to keep the Ten Commandments for our eternal life, then “we are just like him”. Then there will be “no fear where love exists. Rather, perfect love banishes fear”. Why? Because only the wicked, those who live in sin, will be punished. Those who live in obedience to the teachings of Jesus will not be punished. Our love has been perfected through obedience to the Law of God. Nowhere in all the Bible are we commanded to go to church. That is not how we show our love to God. Yet, like good Catholics, we humble ourselves to the devil and the pagan-Catholic system without realizing how offensive it is to God. Church going is pure selfishness.

We love because God first loved us. Whoever says, “I love God,” but hates his brother is a liar. The one who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love the God whom he has not seen. And this is the commandment that we have from him: the person who loves God must also love his brother.

The Pharisees claimed to love God as they went to church and preformed all their selfish church rituals. But they hated their brother Jesus. Why? Because He kept the Ten Commandments perfect and they did not. They set up church in place of obedience to God and His Law. They set up their rounds of ceremonies in place of obedience to God and His Law. They set up man in place of God. They hated their brother Jesus for showing that the perfect, sinless life could be lived outside of their church. They wanted to do it their way, not God’s way. And so it is today. Those who hate, gripe, complain, argue and fight against this ministry do not know God and are not loved by God and will be destroyed by God. They refuse to love this ministry because their lives are sinful. They love it that way. Church has become their “anti” Christ. It stands “in the place of” obedience to the teachings of Jesus.

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Messiah has been born from God, and everyone who loves the parent (God) also loves the child (Jesus). This is how we know that we love God’s children: we love God and keep his commandments. For this demonstrates our love for God: We keep his commandments, and his commandments are not difficult, because everyone who is born from God has overcome the world. Our faith is the victory that overcomes the world.

What more do I need to say? John just said it all. We demonstrate (work) our love for God by keeping (working) His commandments. We live in obedience to the teachings of Jesus to stop sinning, be perfect and to keep the Ten Commandments to get our eternal life. If we have faith in God, we will live in obedience to God. That is the victory that overcomes the sin of the world. Those who are not obedient to the teachings of Jesus do not have faith in God. They have not overcome the world.

Who overcomes the world? Is it not the person who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? This man, Jesus the Messiah, is the one who came by water and blood—not with water only, but with water and with blood. The Spirit is the one who verifies this, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three witnesses—the Spirit, the water, and the blood—and these three are one.

If we believe that Jesus came from Heaven, and believe that we can go to where He is in Heaven, then we will truly obey Him and have nothing to do with this world. He overcame by the power of the Spirit in His life. He overcame by the water representing death to this world and a new resurrection. And then He overcame by giving His blood for our eternal life. We must also overcome as He overcame. Being baptized without the Spirit of His life in you will do you no good. Being baptized without the sacrifice of His life in you will do you no good.

If we accept human testimony, God’s testimony is greater, because it is the testimony of God and because he has testified about his Son. The person who believes in the Son of God believes this testimony personally. The person who does not believe God has made him a liar by not believing the testimony that he has given about his Son. This is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is found in his Son. The person who has the Son has this life. The person who does not have the Son of God does not have this life.

How true. Unless the Son of God is in our life, demonstrated by living as He lived, perfect, sinless and Commandment keeping, we have no life. Those who live as Jesus lived please God and will be commended by God. Three times God the Father gave a personal testimony to the fact that Jesus pleased Him. The first was at His baptism. “You are my Son, whom I love. I am pleased with you!” The second was on the Mount of Transfiguration. This is my Son, whom I love. I am pleased with him. Keep on listening to him!” And the third time was a few days before He went to the cross when the Greeks came to see Jesus. “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again!” Why did God glorify Jesus? Because He was obedient unto death. If we want to be “glorified” at the end and resurrected as Jesus was, we must also have the Father “pleased with us”. To do that, we must be like Jesus, perfect, sinless and commandment keeping. We must obey the Father who told us to “Keep on listening to him!”. But instead of listening to and obeying Jesus, we listen to and obey our churches, as long as they tell us what we want to hear and obey. So we pay them well to tell us what we want to hear. The whole church system has fallen and become Babylon: antichrist.

I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. And this is the confidence that we have in him: if we ask for anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to our requests, we can be sure that we have what we ask him for.

Again, those who “believe” are those who obey. (Romans 1:5). No obedience, no belief. When we obey, we can have the confidence that He will listen to us and give us everything that is in accordance with His will. That is true belief. His will is for us to develope His perfect, sinless and commandment keeping character. Whatever is necessary to develope that character, He will do for those who are obedient. Those who obey the book, “Change Your Life Biblically” have the “ear” of Jesus and His Father. Are you sick? Is your business in need? Is your family in need? Whatever your needs, you “can be sure that we have what we ask him” if you obey the teachings of God as given to this ministry.

If anyone sees his brother committing a sin that does not lead to death, he should pray that God would give him life. This applies to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not telling you to pray about that. Every kind of wrongdoing is sin, yet there are sins that do not lead to death.

There is a difference between unintentional sin and rebellion. In the Old Testament God plainly laid it out that those who sinned unintentionally were to confess, repent and turn away from their “unintentional” sin. (Leviticus 4:27). Sins that are a mistake. Sins that are unknown. But when we turn our backs on the teachings of Jesus to stop sinning, be perfect and to keep the Ten Commandments for eternal life, that is rebellion and there is no sacrifice for it. Hebrews 10:26. This is called the “unpardonable” sin. “So I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.” Matthew 12:31. The Spirit is striving with us to be obedient to Jesus. When we reject that striving and the plain statements of Jesus to stop sinning, be perfect and to keep the Ten Commandments to get our eternal life, the Spirit of God can no longer reach us as is withdrawn. King Saul is an example of this rebellion. He refused to be obedient to the command of God and lost his eternal life. It didn’t matter that he was out fighting “God’s battles”. It didn’t matter that he claimed to love God. It didn’t matter that he went to church. It didn’t matter that he was even picked, chosen and anointed by God to be head of God’s church. God rejected him because he rebelled against the commands of God. Absalom also rebelled against God by attempting to take the kingdom of God away from his anointed father. Even David refused to take the kingdom away from King Saul and let God remove him. The penalty for rebellion is death. Judas rebelled against the teachings of Jesus and attempted to manipulate the “kingdom of God” for his own profit. The penalty for rebellion is death. The Jewish nation did the same. The Jews rebelled against those who had been called by God and were destroyed. So today, those who rebel voluntarily against God and those He has anointed who are giving His messages, refusing to accept the teachings of Jesus to be perfect, stop sinning and to keep the Ten Commandments to get eternal life, have no eternal life. And it doesn’t matter what church you go to, what day you go to church on, how vegan you are or how much money you give. You are lost.

We know that the person who has been born from God does not go on sinning. Rather, the Son of God protects them, and the evil one cannot harm them. We know that we are from God and that the whole world lies under the control of the evil one. We also know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know the true God. We are in union with the one who is true, his Son Jesus the Messiah, who is the true God and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves away from idols.

We know that we are born of God when we stop sinning. No sin, no temptation can overcome one person who is determined to live as Jesus lived: perfect. God will protect them. Those who refuse to believe the teachings of Jesus to be perfect, to stop sinning and to keep the Ten Commandments for eternal life, are under the “control of the evil one”. They are not “in union with the One who is True”. Unfortunately I know of no church or denomination that is “in union with the One who is True”. None believe or teach the teachings of Jesus. That is why Jesus commands us to come out of them at this time of Earth’s history.

“The great plan of redemption, which was dependent on the death of Christ, had been thus far carried out. And there was joy in heaven that the sons of Adam could, through a life of obedience, be finally exalted to the throne of God. Oh, what love! What amazing love! that brought the Son of God to earth to be made sin for us, that we might be reconciled to God, and elevated to a life with Him in His mansions in glory. Oh, what is man, that such a price should be paid for his redemption!“{2T 211}

From: The Elder,

To: The chosen lady and her children, whom I genuinely love, and not only I but also all who know the truth, that is present in us and will be with us forever. Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us from God the Father and from Jesus the Messiah, the Father’s Son, in truth and love.

Truth is forever. It has never changed and it will never change. Love, the keeping of the Ten Commandments, is the truth that is eternal. Your pastor may try to change it, your church may try to change it, your denomination may try to change it, but it is eternal. Unless that eternal truth lives in you, you have no eternal life.

I was overjoyed to find some of your children living truthfully, just as the Father has commanded us. Dear lady, I am now requesting of you that we all continue to love one another. It is not as though I am writing to give you a new commandment, but one that we have had from the beginning. And this is what demonstrates love: that we live according to God’s commandments. Just as you have heard from the beginning what he commanded, you must live by it.

So few today are living truthfully. The churches have all become organizations of lies. They do not teach what the Father has commanded us. They do not teach what Jesus taught. The love Jesus taught is no longer taught in the churches. We are to demonstrate that love by living “according to God’s commandments”. But the churches no longer teach that. It is all about church, saved by grace and God’s unconditional love. It is all about what God does for us, and nothing about our obligations to God. The devil is now using the churches to change God’s laws in our hearts.

For many deceivers have gone out into the world. They refuse to acknowledge Jesus the Messiah as having become human. Any such person is a deceiver and an antichrist.

If you believe that Jesus is of God and became human to teach us the teachings of God and how to live perfect, then you would obey Jesus. But if you do not obey Jesus and His teachings to be perfect, stop sinning and to keep the Ten Commandments to get your eternal life, then you don’t believe Jesus is from God. You have accepted your church as god or your pastor as god or your denomination as god. You have become “antichrist”. If your church or denomination no longer teaches you to be perfect, stop sinning and to keep the Ten Commandments to get your eternal life, it has become “antichrist”.

See to it that you don’t destroy what we have worked for, but that you receive your full reward.

Does any church, pastor or denomination believe that we have to “work” to get our “reward” of eternal life? John is very plain on that. Jesus was very plain on that. The whole Bible is very plain on that. But all the churches have fallen and refuse to believe and obey the truth as taught in the Bible. But like the Jews of Christ’s day, how many reading this yawn and smile self-righteously and think that they are saved in their church. Totally asleep and dead in the world of sin.

Everyone who does not remain true to the teaching of the Messiah, but goes beyond it, does not have God. The person who remains true to the teaching of the Messiah has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you but does not present his teachings, do not receive him into your house or even welcome him, because the one who welcomes him shares in his evil deeds.

If you are reading this and refuse to “remain true to the teaching of the Messiah” you are not of God. God does not care what church or denomination you belong to. He doesn’t care what day you go to church on. He doesn’t care what you eat or don’t eat. All He cares about is, are you remaining “true to the teaching of the Messiah”? Do you believe Jesus when He says you must stop sinning, be perfect and keep the Ten Commandments to get your eternal life? If you are going to a church that does not teach what Jesus taught, you share “in his evil deeds”. You must come out. Your presence is giving acceptance to the lies of the devil. You are on the enemy’s side. Your influence is not for God but the devil. You are leading people to hell. Do not let your ego, pride, church office or feelings keep you in church. Come out and join Jesus by obeying Him. Open up your homes and start obeying Jesus by bringing people out of the church and into fellowship with the teachings of Jesus. Begin teaching people how to “obey everything I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:20.

Although I have a great deal to write to you, I would prefer not to use paper and ink. Instead, I hope to come to you and talk face to face, so that our joy may be complete. The children of your chosen sister greet you.

John was a personal person. He loved to personally be with you and share the love of God. On the night of the Passover supper, John was sitting next to Jesus with his head on the Lord’s chest. He love Jesus. But his love was not a love of convenience. It wasn’t only when things were good and peaceful. On the night Jesus was taken, he did not shrink from the danger but followed Jesus and stood as close as he could to his Savior. Where are you standing? With Peter by the fire keeping warm among the crowd who do not care? With the crowd in the church who are yelling and saying: “We can’t keep the Ten Commandments”, “We can’t be perfect”, “We are saved by grace”. “Away with this man Jesus and His teachings”? Or with John by the side of Jesus and the abuse that will come in obedience to His teachings?

From: The Elder,

To: My dear friend Gaius, whom I genuinely love. Dear friend, I pray that you are doing well in every way and that you are healthy, just as your soul is healthy. I was overjoyed when some brothers arrived and testified about your truthfulness and how you live according to the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are living according to the truth. Dear friend, you are faithful in whatever you do for the brothers, especially when they are strangers. They have testified before the church about your love. You will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God. After all, they went on their trip for the sake of the Name, accepting no support from gentiles. Therefore, we ought to support such people so that we can become genuine helpers with them.

I also have no greater joy than to hear of those who are living according to the truth. We need to be faithful in whatever we do for Jesus. God called this ministry and sent it on its way for the sake of the Name. May those who claim to be His people help to support this little ministry as it fulfills God’s calling.

I wrote a letter to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be in charge, will not recognize our authority. For this reason, when I come I will call attention to what he is doing in spreading false charges against us. And not content with that, he refuses to receive the brothers. He even tries to stop those who want to accept them and throws them out of the church. Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. The person who does what is good is from God. The person who does what is evil has never seen God.

How many churches and church members I have sent material to who act like Diotrephes. They do not want to hear the truth and refuse to share it with others. They throw “them out of the church”. One church called me in and put me on “the hot seat” and acted like the Sanhedrin in pointing fingers, hating and trying to destroy me. Why? They loved their Sabbath church. They will be held accountable to God.

Demetrius has received a good report from everyone, including the truth itself. We, too, can testify to this report, and you know that our testimony is true. Although I have a great deal to write to you, I would rather not write with pen and ink. Instead, I hope to see you soon and speak face to face. May peace be with you! Your friends greet you. Greet each of our friends by name.

May we all live as Demetrius, according to the truth. May each of you welcome this material that has come from the Spirit of God. May you support it, teach it, share it and live it. May we live so all will see that we have been with Jesus and live as He commands: perfect, sinless and commandment keeping.

Educating Children

There is danger of both parents and teachers commanding and dictating too much, while they fail to come sufficiently into social relation with their children, or their scholars. They often hold themselves too much reserved, and exercise their authority in a cold, unsympathizing manner, which cannot win the hearts of their children and pupils. If they would gather the children close to them, and show that they love them, and manifest an interest in all their efforts, and even in their sports, and sometimes be even a child among them, they would make the children very happy, would gain their love, and win their confidence. And the children would sooner respect and love the authority of their parents and teachers.

The principles and habits of the teacher should be considered of greater importance than even his literary qualifications. If the teacher is a sincere Christian, he will feel the necessity of having an equal interest in the physical, mental, moral, and spiritual education of his scholars. In order to exert the right influence, he should have perfect control over himself, and his own heart should be richly imbued with love for his pupils, which will be seen in his looks, words, and acts. He should have firmness of character; then he can mould the minds of his pupils, as well as instruct them in the sciences.

The early education of youth generally shapes their character for life. Those who deal with the young should be very careful to call out the qualities of the mind, that they may better know how to direct their powers, and that they may be exercised to the very best account.

Many children have been ruined for life by urging the intellect, and neglecting to strengthen the physical powers. Many have died in childhood because of the course pursued by injudicious parents and school-teachers in forcing their young intellects, by flattery or fear, when they were too young to see the inside of a school-room. Their minds have been taxed with lessons, when they should not have been called out, but kept back until the physical constitution was strong enough to endure mental effort. Small children should be left as free as lambs to run out-of-doors, to be free and happy, and should be allowed the most favorable opportunities to lay the foundation for sound constitutions.

Parents should be the only teachers of their children until they have reached eight or ten years of age. As fast as their minds can comprehend it, the parents should open before them God’s great book of nature. The mother should have less love for the artificial in her house, and in the preparation of her dress for display, and should find time to cultivate, in herself and in her children, a love for the beautiful buds and opening flowers. By calling the attention of her children to their different colors and variety of forms, she can make them acquainted with God, who made all the beautiful things which attract and delight them. She can lead their minds up to their Creator, and awaken in their young hearts a love for their heavenly Father, who has manifested so great love for them. Parents can associate God with all his created works. The only school-room for children from eight to ten years of age should be in the open air, amid the opening flowers and nature’s beautiful scenery. And their only text book should be the treasures of nature. These lessons, imprinted upon the minds of young children amid the pleasant, attractive scenes of nature, will not be soon forgotten.

In order for children and youth to have health, happiness, vivacity, and well-developed muscle and brain, they should be much in the open air, and have well-regulated employment and amusement. Children and youth who are kept at school, and confined to books, cannot have sound physical constitutions. The exercise of the brain in study, without corresponding physical exercise, has a tendency to attract the blood to the brain, and the circulation of the blood through the system becomes unbalanced. The brain has too much blood, and the extremities too little. There should be rules regulating their studies to certain hours, and then a portion of their time should be spent in physical labor. And if their habits of eating, dressing, and sleeping were in accordance with physical law, they could obtain an education without sacrificing physical and mental health.

The patriarchs from Adam to Noah, with but few exceptions, lived nearly a thousand years. Since the days of Noah, the length of life has been tapering. Those suffering with disease were brought to Christ for him to heal, from every town, city, and village; for they were afflicted with all manner of diseases. And disease has been steadily on the increase through successive generations since that period. Because of the continued violation of the laws of life, mortality has increased to a fearful extent.

Disease has been transmitted from parents to children from generation to generation. Infants in their cradle are miserably afflicted because of the sins of their parents, which have lessened their vital force. Their wrong habits of eating and dressing, and their general dissipation, are transmitted as an inheritance to their children. Many are born insane, deformed, blind, deaf, and a very large class deficient in intellect. The strange absence of principle which characterizes this generation, in disregarding the laws of life and health, is astonishing. Ignorance prevails upon this subject, while light is shining all around them. With the majority, their principal anxiety is, What shall I eat? what shall I drink? and wherewithal shall I be clothed? Notwithstanding all that is said and written in regard to how we should treat our bodies, appetite is the great law which governs men and women generally.

The moral powers are beclouded, because men and women will not live in obedience to the laws of health, and make this great subject a personal duty. Parents bequeath to their offspring their own perverted habits; and loathsome diseases corrupt the blood, and enervate the brain. The majority of men and women remain in ignorance of the laws of their being, and indulge appetite and passion at the expense of intellect and morals, and seem willing to remain in ignorance of the result of their violation of nature’s laws. They indulge the depraved appetite in the use of slow poisons, which corrupt the blood, and undermine the nervous forces, and in consequence bring upon themselves sickness and death. Their friends call the result of their own course the dispensation of Providence. In this they insult Heaven. They rebelled against the laws of nature, and suffered the punishment of her abused laws. Suffering and mortality now prevail everywhere, especially among the children. How great is the contrast between this generation, and those who lived during the first two thousand years! I inquired if this tide of woe could not be prevented, and something done to save the youth of this generation from the ruin which threatens them. It was shown to me that one cause of the existing deplorable state of things is, that parents do not feel under obligation to bring up their children to conform to physical law. Mothers love their children with an idolatrous love, and they indulge their appetite when they know that it will injure the health of the children, and thereby bring upon them disease and unhappiness. This cruel kindness is carried out to a great extent in the present generation. The desires of children are gratified at the expense of health and happy tempers, because it is easier for the mother, for the time being, to gratify them than to withhold that for which her children clamor.

Had the system of education generations back been conducted upon altogether a different plan, the youth of this generation would not now be so depraved and worthless. The managers and teachers of schools should have been those who understood physiology, and who had an interest, not only to educate youth in the sciences, but to teach them how to preserve health, in order to use their knowledge to the best account after they had obtained it. There should have been in connection with the schools, establishments for various branches of labor, that the students might have employment, and necessary exercise out of school hours.

The students’ employment and amusements should have been regulated with reference to physical law, and adapted to preserve to them the healthy tone of all the powers of the body and mind. Then their education in practical business could have been obtained, while their literary progress was being secured. Students at school should have had their moral sensibilities aroused to see and feel that society had claims upon them, and that they should so live in obedience to natural law that they could, by their existence and influence, by precept and example, be an advantage and blessing to society. It should be impressed upon youth that all have an influence that is constantly telling upon society, to improve and elevate, or to lower and debase it. The first study of youth should be to know themselves, and how to keep their bodies in health.

Many parents have kept their children at school nearly the year round. These children have gone through the routine of study mechanically, and they have not retained that which they learned. Many of these constant students seem almost destitute of intellectual life. The monotony of continual study wearies the mind, and they have but little interest in their lessons, and to many, the application to books becomes painful. They had not an inward love of thought, and ambition to acquire knowledge. They did not encourage in themselves reflection, and investigation of objects and things. {CE 7-12}

Dear Ronald,
I first want to start this letter talking about faith, because this is where the booklet starts off with. But before I talk about this I would like to apologize for not writing an essay to your liking, or to the standards you wanted it to be. I want to show you how serious I am about this new walk with the Lord because I am very new to this life. I am really interested in your book and learning more about our Lord and Savior.

First of all, I like how you use the example of faith by stating “a prisoner has faith in the system that if he behaves in a certain manner he will be rewarded and/or paroled earlier.” This is so true and I have faith in this as well. Now, using this faith in God I have a difficult time doing. I believe there is a God and that Jesus died for our sins. I have a hard time with faith in God because of all the pain and suffering that I go through. Maybe it’s me. Maybe God sees in my heart that I am not a true believer. I sit in this lonely cell and like you did, think what this word faith means. So how do I practice obedience that comes from faith? How do I become righteous and live by faith? I have to put the work in like you did. You too once was lost in prison like I am now. But you put the work in and look at where you are now in your life: free. I am a true believer in Christ and have 100% faith in God. So I am willing to put the work in and have obedience to do just that. It’s not going to be easy, but with the right help, I too can have the faith that God wants me to have and become a true follower of Christ. After reading this five times as you asked, I see now that I need to put a lot of work into being a true follower of Christ and have faith.

When I read the chapter on goodness, I had to put a smile on my face because I truly took the time to read this booklet this time. But when you said that many Christians believe in Jesus Christ only as their Savior, this was me. This is not the way I am supposed to be. This is not having faith in our Lord and Savior. This is not putting the work in like God wants us to and be obedient. I believed that is all we had to do. Boy was I mistaken. I see that my learning was off. I never put the work in my walk with Christ. Like Peter said, “Ignorant and unstable people distort the writings of Paul and the other Scriptures to their own destruction”. I believe this because this is what our church here teaches us, to believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and all we have to do is name the name of Christ and I will be saved in my sins. Wow, I am very ignorant to believe that’s all I had to do. No wonder why God never makes His presence to me because I was living with no true faith in God. Nor did I ever put all the pieces together. I have been very misled and can’t believe how I missed all of this when I read this booklet a month ago. Wow, thank you Ron for making or asking me to read this five more times. I want to live and not be one of the ones to be destroyed for any wickedness. I didn’t believe that I can do all things through Jesus. I did some things like go to church, which I hated here, but I wanted to please God, and that was good enough. I am very guilty of loving this world and the things of this world and not putting in the work in Christ as I would sports or for my pleasure. I always put the good in life for people here and not the good in Christ like I should be doing. I need to live by example and those around me will see what I have and wouldn’t be discouraged like I am now. I could change the people around me if I lived by example. They would want what I have like I want what you have. To be a true believer in Christ and to be happy and free and loving like God wants us to be with each other. I will do all the good that I can do and look at myself as a “volunteer missionary” and not an “inmate”. Who knows, maybe I could show and teach the chaplain here the real way to live by Christ and be a true believer and have faith.

I always blamed God for my troubles. In fact, I did it with you at the beginning of this letter. You are right, it’s not His fault. He is warning me. I ignored all my problems and they always lead to bigger problems. I didn’t have the right knowledge of the teachings because I never put the work into learning the teachings. I thought what I was doing was right and good enough. I stopped going to church because of this. I see “Christians” who really know the Bible. I mean could remember all of the Scriptures and speak with a good tongue. But as soon as church is over, you see this same man lying, stealing, gossiping (kinda like I did) and cheating on their women by writing other women. I was very turned off by this until I read your story and this booklet. I am trying to do His will but I see I have to try harder because I haven’t put the work in like you do, or live as I should. This man that knew the Scriptures by heart but didn’t know how to use the Scriptures in his life. I don’t want to be one of those inmates.

I claimed Jesus as my Lord and Savior but I didn’t obey Him as Lord. I didn’t and still don’t have this self-control. But I want it. I need it. I grew up Catholic and a Catholic church teaches us that if we sin, as long as we confess our sins to Jesus, that we will still be saved, even if we know better not to, but don’t have the self-control to stop ourselves before we do commit sins. I knew this was wrong deep in my heart, but thought it was OK because I would always confess my sins. Not knowing this whole time that my sins are destroying me. I am still going through this, my body being tired, my mind confused, my heart heavy with pain because I never was cleansed of my sins. I was thinking what I was doing was right, but now I see it wasn’t. Now I see that you asked me to write you a five page letter about what I learned wasn’t for your liking, but it was to put the work in for God because He is worth the work and it is a Christian’s duty to test the spirits and to see if the person doing the claiming is of God. I see this is what you did to me. It’s like when you’re in prison and say you’re in a gang and claiming someone high in ranking and the lower ranking members test you to see if you really are right by your gang. Wow, I was way off when I wrote you the essay I sent to you. I don’t want to be lost and lose my salvation so I must change my way and do it God’s way. I want to do it the right way and to the fullest, not when it’s convenient for me. I must “serve wholeheartedly”. I must be a true Christian so I can have the right to call Jesus “Lord” and truly believe this in my heart.

I watch a lot of shows that I have no business watching. Recently I had a new TV and I woke up one morning to find it broken. I couldn’t understand why. I was heartbroken because I didn’t have the money to get another one and had no one to help me get another. I am studying this booklet and reading more of the Bible as I speak today because I don’t have a TV anymore. When I did, it was taking me away from reading and getting closer to God. I see this now and couldn’t understand why so much bad just happens to me, but God knows in my heart I want to love Him like He deserves to be loved. So I am in prison and no TV with no distractions turning me away from God. It shouldn’t be like this, I should want to, not because I don’t have a TV.

And you are 100% right when you said that we never yet resisted against sin to the point of shedding our blood. I never met anyone who would and I find this to be sad. I honestly thought I was righteous. After reading this booklet, I feel that I disappointed God. I feel this way because I lack faith and I know this to be true now because what I just learned about real faith. I still keep bad company and this corrupts me. This is why I am still able to sin and why I still don’t’ have the obedience not to sin anymore. I feel like I am not saved because I have been misled my whole life. Even when I first read through this booklet you sent me, I read it like a book, not even reading the true meaning and carefully listening to what you are telling me. You are right, we have it easy as Christians in America. I am by far not ready for heaven. I thought I was but I know I’m not now. I blamed God for my troubles because I’m not a man of perseverance and I don’t trust God like I thought I did. I have no right to blame God for my stupidity, but I did. I know the right way to become a man of perseverance and to trust God in my heart and not just say this, but mean it. I don’t fear God like I should, like Job did. Like I mentioned when I first started this letter, I always felt God could do anything: He’s God. Why else would He want people to suffer, right? This is what I’m around. No one sat me down and put it like you do in this booklet. He must follow the rules. He wants us to chose what’s right from wrong and our choices determine our lives here on earth.

I thought you were talking about “yoke” as in a center of the egg. So thank you for telling me what Jesus was talking about because I was really confused. I will be godly and not point the finger and maliciously talk. I truly have a lot to learn still and I am so grateful for getting the opportunity to write this letter and taking a good look at my life and teachings of God. I know I have come a long way, and I know I still have a ways to go, but I am changing and I know it’s because God has plans for me and I am becoming a true Christian. I know now that I have work to do, but I am willing to put the work in now and want to put the work in. It won’t be easy but I see that God has put people like you in my life to help me and guide me in the right direction. I feel so blessed right now and I am so thankful for you, Ron. What I learned in a day reading this booklet is more than I learned since I came to prison in 2003. I feel good and I really thank you again for taking the time to write me and ask me to re-read the booklet you sent.
Joseph, IL

Dear Brother Ron,
I received your wonderful book. I was so engrossed in it that time completely flew. I’ve completed it once and I’ll digest what I’ve learned for a few days and then I will start it again. I will not let it out of my sight. You don’t have to worry about that. I can’t really share what I’ve learned yet as I am locked down 24/7. Upon my release I plan to use your ministry as a vital resource in my arsenal against the devil. That also includes giving you my financial support. I would love to be associated with your ministry. I was compelled to write you after I surrendered my life to Christ. God clearly wanted to show me how He expected me to live or else I would have been deceived as all of the rest of the “saved by grace”. I’ve always known something was missing that my so-called salvation was “incomplete”. Without you and your “True teachings, my eternal soul was in danger of eternal death” for lack of the truth. None of the Bible studies I’ve done, nor any of the so-called religious publications I’ve read, teaches the truth as you do. I thank you for showing me the “Narrow Path”. I have been incarcerated continuously since 1998.
Thomas, FL

Dear Ron,
May I please be mailed your Bible studies and your book, “Change Your Life Biblically”? My cell mate has it and I love it. Thank you for your help with changing things for the better. We really appreciate you.
Jessica, NE

Dear Ron,
It is so good to meet a brother that believes as I do. Not many people take God seriously nor do they want to hear about Him. So, once again, it is such a blessing to meet you. I learned of your ministry from a sister in Christ. She truly is a blessing in my life. She introduced me to your book, “Change Your Life Biblically”. I am very intrigued with your knowledge and wisdom of God and your salvation. I am writing in hopes that you would please send me your book and any other studies that you may have to help my spiritual growth in the Lord.
Veronica, NC

Dear Ron,
I am writing this letter asking you to please send me a “Change Your Life Biblically” so that I can know the real truth about the way of living for Christ Jesus. I am writing you hoping that I can really get something that will help me and really tell me about the way to live and how to really be the way Christ wants me to be in this world right now. The churches tell you to have this relationship but don’t really tell you how. I need to really, really know.
Eugene, KY

To Whom It May Concern,
I’m serving a life sentence and have given my life over to Jesus. I’m wanting, starving for, and so very much am longing to totally learn and understand all there is to know about Jesus and how to obey and live to follow all of His ways and teachings. You had sent a Christian brother of mine here, that I attend church with, a book called, “Change Your Life Biblically”. He let me look at it and I like it very much. And I’d absolutely love to receive a copy of the book and teach myself much more about Jesus, please. I feel I can really benefit from it. Could you please send me a copy of your book so I can learn to follow Jesus closer.
Mark, CA

Brother Ron,
1st and foremost, I pray everyday for you and your ministry that God will keep blessing you and keep guarding you on the narrow track. Once again “thank you” for the letter. I have written my second part of the certification process. This was quite difficult. Two of the three were. But I feel I did as good as I could. I am so happy now and at peace being sure and certain of my salvation. Without your guidance in this book, I would of never known the fellowship that I am enjoying with my living God. I hope these essays are what you wanted.
Sean, CA

I am requesting a Bible and pen-pal and newsletters, etc., please. I am currently in jail. I am facing a good bit of time and I don’t have family to help so it would be wonderful to receive a Bible and letters from you.

Walk in the Light

I was shown that God’s people dwell too much under a cloud. It is not His will that they should live in unbelief. Jesus is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. His children are the children of light. They are renewed in His image, and called out of darkness into His marvelous light. He is the light of the world, and so also are they that follow Him. They shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. The more closely the people of God strive to imitate Christ, the more perseveringly will they be pursued by the enemy; but their nearness to Christ strengthens them to resist the efforts of our wily foe to draw them from Christ.

Today, “God’s people” are living under a cloud of church and unbelief. They do not believe in the teachings of Jesus. They have been brainwashed by their denominations. Their churches are teaching them to doubt the teachings of Jesus and to believe the lies the churches are teaching.

We are to be “children of light”. That light is the perfection and sinless character of Jesus. You cannot be a “light in the world” if you are walking in the darkness of the world. The “light of life” is living as Jesus commands us: perfect. All Heaven lives in that perfect light of sinlessness. Jesus came to demonstrate how we can live in this world of sin in “His marvelous light” of perfection. But the churches today are under a cloud of unbelief. They do not believe Jesus when He teaches them that they can live in His perfection and sinlessness. They are walking in darkness when He is calling them out of the darkness of sin and into His marvelous light of perfection. As we “strive to imitate Christ” and His perfect, sinless character, the devil will pursue us, but God will come to our rescue. Let us throw off the darkness of sin from our lives and walk in the perfect light of Jesus. You must “resist the efforts of our wily foe (the devil and his churches) to draw” you away from the teachings of Christ.

I was shown that there was too much comparing ourselves among ourselves, taking fallible mortals for a pattern, when we have a sure, unerring pattern. We should not measure ourselves by the world, nor by the opinions of men, nor by what we were before we embraced the truth. But our faith and position in the world, as they now are, must be compared with what they would have been if our course had been continually onward and upward since we professed to be followers of Christ. This is the only safe comparison that can be made. In every other there will be self-deception. If the moral character and spiritual state of God’s people do not correspond with the blessings, privileges, and light which have been conferred upon them, they are weighed in the balance, and angels make the report, Wanting.

My dear family in Christ, what is your “report”? Are you found “Wanting”? Have you allowed yourself to judge your Christian walk by your church, your pastor and the entertainment your church provides? Are you complacent, asleep and satisfied with your life? If so, it is because you have not listened to nor beheld the perfect character of Jesus. You have been brainwashed by your church. Are you striving each day to become more perfect, more sinless in the power that Jesus offers you? What sins have you walked away from in the last 36 hours? What sins are you working on now? If you have been in your church for at least a year, what sins have you overcome? What have you done to change your life other than what day you go to church on? Each day we are to rise up, pick up our weapons of warfare and begin the fight anew saying “no” to temptation and ridding our lives of the sins we know of. Then it is our duty to search out and find those sins that are hidden from us. We must pray for the Spirit of God to illuminate our minds with the light of heaven to see what we must do to overcome each and every sin in our lives. At this time in Earth’s history, with the knowledge and wisdom that God has poured out upon His children, their is no excuse to be walking in sin. Only those who walk in perfection will be translated off this earth without seeing death.

With some the knowledge of their true state seems to be hidden from them. They see the truth, but perceive not its importance or its claims. They hear the truth, but do not fully understand it, because they do not conform their lives to it, and therefore are not sanctified through obeying it. And yet they rest as unconcerned and well satisfied as though the cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night, as token of God’s favor, went before them. They profess to know God, but in works deny Him. They reckon themselves His chosen, peculiar people, yet His presence and power to save to the uttermost are seldom manifested among them. How great is the darkness of such! yet they know it not. The light shines, but they do not comprehend it. No stronger delusion can deceive the human mind than that which makes them believe that they are right, and that God accepts their works, when they are sinning against Him. They mistake the form of godliness for the spirit and power thereof. They suppose that they are rich, and have need of nothing, when they are poor, wretched, blind, and naked, and need all things.

The churches today are incased in such deep darkness that their members have no idea of the thick cloud that envelopes them. There seems to be no light from God that can cut it. They do not want the light of God to cut it. They are satisfied in their sins. They love their delusions. Their pastors and denominations are very satisfied in continuing to propagate their delusions. Like the Jews of old, modern Israel has rejected their God for a Catholic form of godliness. They have been totally brainwashed. Some are reading this, but their minds have been so tainted with lies from their church they cannot comprehend the truths of Jesus. They have made church their “form of godliness”. Please wake up. Please listen to what the Spirit is saying.

There are some who profess to be Christ’s followers, yet put forth no effort in spiritual things. In any worldly enterprise they put forth effort, and manifest ambition to accomplish their object, and bring about the desired end; but in the enterprise of everlasting life, where all is at stake, and their eternal happiness depends upon their success, they act as indifferent as though they were not moral agents, as though another were playing the game of life for them, and they had nothing to do but wait the result. Oh, what folly! what madness! If all will only manifest that degree of ambition, zeal, and earnestness for everlasting life that they manifest in their worldly pursuits, they will be victorious overcomers. Everyone, I saw, must obtain an experience for himself, each must act well and faithfully his part in the game of life. Satan watches his opportunity to seize the precious graces when we are unguarded, and we shall have a severe conflict with the powers of darkness to retain them, or to regain a heavenly grace if through lack of watchfulness we lose it.

The churches have lost their heavenly grace. The church members have been told over and over again that they do not need to “work out” or “pursue” their eternal life. They are told over and over again that Someone else is playing the game of life for them. All they need to do is sit back in church and enjoy the ride. Let Jesus do it all. Just believe. Just come to church on Saturday and be saved by grace. Get dunked in our church and put your name on our membership role and you are saved. What madness! The devil is jumping for joy over you.

But I was shown that it is the privilege of Christians to obtain strength from God to hold every precious gift. Fervent and effectual prayer will be regarded in heaven. When the servants of Christ take the shield of faith for their defense, and the sword of the Spirit for war, there is danger in the enemy’s camp, and something must be done. Persecution and reproach only wait for those who are endowed with power from on high to call them into action. When the truth in its simplicity and strength prevails among believers, and is brought to bear against the spirit of the world, it will be evident that there is no concord between Christ and Belial. The disciples of Christ must be living examples of the life and spirit of their Master.

It is amazing how many claim to believe in the modern-day prophet and yet, like their “belief” in Jesus, refuse to listen and obey what the prophets of God say. What Madness! There is no concord between Perfection and sin. There is no concord between sinlessness and sinfulness. You cannot be both. Either you are obedient to Jesus and living the perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life or you are sitting in church sound asleep to your sins and the destruction about to consume you. You are one or the other. There is no “middle” lane. One is going in one direction, the other is going in the opposite direction. If you attempt to straddle the lanes, you will get in an accident. Not God’s fault. He told you to get out of the middle of the road and stay on the Narrow Way to eternal life. If you would simply believe the “truth in its simplicity” what a difference your life would make in the world. Just believe Jesus to stop sinning, to be perfect and to keep the Ten Commandments to get your eternal life. Teach that, live it and with a Loud Cry promote it.

Young and old have a conflict, a warfare, before them. They should not sleep for a moment. A wily foe is constantly on the alert to lead them astray and overcome them. Believers in present truth must be as watchful as their enemy and manifest wisdom in resisting Satan. Will they do this? Will they persevere in this warfare? Will they be careful to depart from all iniquity? Christ is denied in many ways. We may deny Him by speaking contrary to truth, by speaking evil of others, by foolish talking or jesting, or by words that are idle. In these things we manifest but little shrewdness or wisdom. We make ourselves weak; our efforts are feeble to resist our great enemy, and we are conquered. “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh,” and through lack of watchfulness we confess that Christ is not in us. Those who hesitate to devote themselves unreservedly to God make poor work of following Christ. They follow Him at so great a distance that half the time they do not really know whether they are following His footprints or the footsteps of their great enemy. Why are we so slow to give up our interest in the things of this world and take Christ for our only portion? Why should we wish to keep the friendship of our Lord’s enemies, and follow their customs, and be led by their opinions? There must be an entire, unreserved surrender to God, a forsaking and turning away from the love of the world and earthly things, or we cannot be Christ’s disciples.

Why should we wish to keep the friendship of our Lord’s enemies, and follow their customs, and be led by their opinions?” Church going is a pagan custom that has no authority in the Bible. Yet, like good Catholics, we cling to our pagan ways instead of clinging to Jesus and His truth. Going to church in today’s world is as pagan as worshiping an idol. In the eyes of God, it is idol worship. “We may deny Him by speaking contrary to truth.” If you, your pastor, your church or denomination are speaking contrary to the truth by claiming that we cannot be perfect, or that we cannot stop sinning or that we cannot keep the Ten Commandments to get our eternal life, you are lost. There is no salvation contrary to truth. Jesus is the truth.

You can call yourself a Baptist, a Mormon, a Jehovah’s Witness, a Catholic, a Seventh-day Adventist, a Lutheran or any other religion, but you are not a Christian if you are not obedient to the commands and teachings of Jesus to be perfect, stop sinning and keep the Ten Commandments to get your eternal life. Only Christians are going to heaven. No church, no denomination, no religion will get you into Heaven. Only obedience to the teachings of Jesus will put you on “The Way” to “Eternal Life”. Why are you following the customs of the world in believing “saved by grace” or “unconditional love”?

The life and spirit of Christ is the only standard of excellence and perfection, and our only safe course is to follow His example. If we do this He will guide us by His counsel and afterward receive us to glory. We must strive diligently and be willing to suffer much in order to walk in the footsteps of our Redeemer. God is willing to work for us, to give us of His free Spirit, if we will strive for it, live for it, believe for it; and then we can walk in the light as He is in the light. We can feast upon His love and drink in of His rich fullness. {1T 405-408}

The Jews of Christ’s day thought their religion, their church, their denomination would get them into Heaven. They thought they could sit with God in the Kingdom of Heaven while they put Him on the cross in their actions. They refused to believe His teachings. They refused to live by His example. They refused to humble their hearts in obedience to the Law of the Kingdom of Heaven. How arrogant to think they were God’s special people when the only “special” thing they did was deny Him and put Him on the cross. And so it is with all churches and denomination of today. If you do not come out, you are saying to God, “I do not want this Man to be my God. I have chosen Caesar as my king and church as my god. I choose to sit in a man-made building listening to man pontificate and lift up himself above God by refusing to teach the teachings of Jesus.” The Spirit of God has been kicked out of the church for the spirit of man. Rebellion has taken control of all churches and denominations. That spirit is in you unless you obey Jesus and get out of your church. Open up your home and do everything you can to bring people to the teachings and perfection of Jesus.

God would have a health institution established which will in its influence be closely connected with the closing work for mortals fitting for immortality, one that will have no tendency to weaken the religious principles of old or young and which will not improve the health of the body to the detriment of spiritual growth. The great object of this institution should be to improve the health of the body, that the afflicted may more highly appreciate eternal things. If this object is not continually set before the mind and efforts are not made to this end, it will prove a curse instead of a blessing, spirituality will be regarded as a secondary thing, and the health of the body and diversion will be made primary.

How all of our “Christian” and church institutions have fallen. They do not lift up the teachings of Jesus. They are not showing the way to eternal life. All they do is lift up “pride” in the “health of the body” and other diversion tactics. None of it is for the glory of God. Pagan church, money, power and show is all they teach.

I saw that the high standard should not be lowered in the least in order that the institution may be patronized by unbelievers. If unbelievers choose to come while its conductors occupy the exalted spiritual position which God designs they should, there will be a power that will affect their hearts. With God and angels on their side, His commandment-keeping people can but prosper. This institution is not to be established for the object of gain, but to aid in bringing God’s people into such a condition of physical and mental health as will enable them to rightly appreciate eternal things and to correctly value the redemption so dearly purchased by the sufferings of our Saviour. This institution is not to be made a place for diversion or amusement. Those who cannot live unless they have excitement and diversion will be of no use to the world; none are made better for their living. They might just as well be out of the world as to be in it.

According to that one paragraph we would have to close all of our churches, educational and health institutions. They are nothing but places to have “excitement and diversion”. Sabbath services, Saturday night fun and games, talent shows to show off our pride and ego, and of course, they are so expensive, not many “believers” can attend or be patronized. Our educational institutions that were raised up to train men for the advancement of the truth are now training men and women in sports, money making and worldly enterprises. They are filled with “unbelievers”, not only as subjects but as employees. God has been kicked out for profit, power and worldly gain. How far “God’s people” have fallen. I am afraid they are beyond saving. As with the Jews of Christ’s day, their institutions have been left unto them desolate.

. . . Satan found his way into Eden and made Eve believe that she needed something more than that which God had given for her happiness, that the forbidden fruit would have a special exhilarating influence upon her body and mind, and would exalt her even to be equal with God in knowledge. But the knowledge and benefit she thought to gain proved to her a terrible curse.

All of our churches, educational and health institutions no longer remain true to God’s simple spiritual truth. Now we have to add “Spiritual Reformation” or other man-made wisdom to teach us that we need “something more than that which God has given”. Like the Catholic Church, all churches have fallen. All are adding or subtracting in order to fit their sinful, selfish and rebellious hearts.

There are persons with a diseased imagination to whom religion is a tyrant, ruling them as with a rod of iron. Such are constantly mourning over their depravity and groaning over supposed evil. Love does not exist in their hearts; a frown is ever upon their countenances. They are chilled by the innocent laugh from the youth or from anyone. They consider all recreation or amusement a sin and think that the mind must be constantly wrought up to just such a stern, severe pitch. This is one extreme. Others think that the mind must be ever on the stretch to invent new amusements and diversions in order to gain health. They learn to depend on excitement, and are uneasy without it. Such are not true Christians. They go to another extreme. The true principles of Christianity open before all a source of happiness, the height and depth, the length and breadth of which are immeasurable. It is Christ in us a well of water springing up into everlasting life. It is a continual wellspring from which the Christian can drink at will and never exhaust the fountain.

Since our church institutions no longer have “Christ in us a well of water springing up into everlasting life” we have to manufacture our own springs of happiness and joy. We go to great lengths to put on “spiritual” shows and entertainment to keep the members “happy” and full of “joy”. But we no longer show the simple life of Jesus and teach it to be our joy. How many find pleasure in simply holding a Bible study with another person? How many in your church are holding Bible studies and prayer meetings in their homes earnestly seeking to stop sin in their lives and reflect the perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life of Jesus?

That which brings sickness of body and mind to nearly all is dissatisfied feelings and discontented repinings. They have not God, they have not the hope which reaches to that within the veil, which is as an anchor to the soul both sure and steadfast. All who possess this hope will purify themselves even as He is pure. Such are free from restless longings, repinings, and discontent; they are not continually looking for evil and brooding over borrowed trouble. But we see many who are having a time of trouble beforehand; anxiety is stamped upon every feature; they seem to find no consolation, but have a continual fearful looking for of some dreadful evil.

How true, how true. We listen to every conspiracy theory that comes our way. We dwell upon, brood over and borrow more trouble than God wants us to have. We are always listening to and looking for the wrongs of individuals, pastors, churches and denominations. And yet, how many are looking to Jesus and learning to be obedient to His teachings to stop sinning, be perfect and to keep the Ten commandments in their own lives. No, gossip is far more interesting than obedience to Jesus.

Such dishonor God, and bring the religion of Christ into disrepute. They have not true love for God, nor for their companions and children. Their affections have become morbid. But vain amusements will never correct the minds of such. They need the transforming influence of the Spirit of God in order to be happy. They need to be benefited by the mediation of Christ, in order to realize consolation, divine and substantial. “For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.” Those who have an experimental knowledge of this scripture are truly happy. They consider the approbation of Heaven of more worth than any earthly amusement; Christ in them the hope of glory will be health to the body and strength to the soul.

But the church just keeps the “amusement” coming. More energy and money is spent on sports in our church schools than eternal life. Everything possible to keep the minds of its members constantly occupied with the things of this world, even if wrapped in “spiritual” information. But it is all a diversion to keep us from the “transforming influence of the Spirit of God”. Great debates about the age of the Earth has nothing to do with living perfect. Great debates on women ordination has nothing to do with living perfect. Great debates on food has nothing to do with living perfect. Yes, our churches and denominations are filled with a thousand ways to keep you from sitting quietly and listening to Jesus tell you to stop sinning, be perfect and to keep the Ten Commandments to get your eternal life.

The simplicity of the gospel is fast disappearing from professed Sabbathkeepers. I inquire a hundred times a day, How can God prosper us? There is but little praying. In fact, prayer is almost obsolete. Few are willing to bear the cross of Christ, who bore the shameful cross for us. I cannot feel that things are moving at the (church institutions) as God would have them move. I fear that He will turn His face from it. I was shown that physicians and helpers should be of the highest order, those who have an experimental knowledge of the truth, who will command respect, and whose word can be relied on. They should be persons who have not a diseased imagination, persons who have perfect self-control, who are not fitful or changeable, who are free from jealousy and evil surmising, persons who have a power of will that will not yield to slight indispositions, who are unprejudiced, who will think no evil, who think and move calmly, considerately, having the glory of God and the good of others ever before them. Never should one be exalted to a responsible position merely because he desires it. Those only should be chosen who are qualified for the position. Those who are to bear responsibilities should first be proved and give evidence that they are free from jealousy, that they will not take a dislike to this or that one, while they have a few favored friends and take no notice of others. God grant that all may move just right in that institution. {1T 564-566}

And not just “that institution” but all of our institutions have fallen. They no longer take in the poor and needy. No, it costs a fortune to go to any of our institutions. And for what? Not one of them is teaching how to get to Heaven. They put on a show while they teach and live for the world. My heart is broken as God has shown me the state of “His People” who are no longer “His People”. They have been lied to by the church, betrayed by the institutions and led by the devil. Who will return to the Lord with a humble heart and believe and obey His teachings? Who will stand up and speak with the Loud Cry that we must get out of all this distraction and return to Jesus and His perfect, sinless life? Who will take our material and please God by spreading it around the world? Who will “sacrifice” to help us prepare a people for the close of probation?

“From what has been shown me, Sabbathkeepers are growing more selfish as they increase in riches. Their love for Christ and His people is decreasing. They do not see the wants of the needy, nor feel their sufferings and sorrows. They do not realize that in neglecting the poor and the suffering they neglect Christ, and that in relieving the wants and sufferings of the poor as far as possible, they minister to Jesus.” {2T 24.1}

Here is where you can begin proving to Jesus that you are ready to sacrifice to relieve the wants and sufferings of the poor. Here you can help us put out the book, “Change Your Life Biblically” that the Holy Spirit dictated and directed. It is helping poor and suffering sinners to become rich in Jesus.

I want to thank each of you who are so faithful to Jesus in supporting this ministry each month. We are in financial need at this time. We are receiving so many request for the book. Any extra help is appreciated.

Love in Christ,
