Stairs to Heaven

My Dear Family in Christ,

To understand the letter Paul wrote to the Ephesians we need to understand a little bit about who they were. From my simple study I learned that they preferred love to war. Instead of fighting, arguing and debating, they loved philosophy and art. The temple of Artemis, which created such a stir in the book of Acts, was in Ephesus. Her image was widely circulated on coins.

An interesting concept I have found in the New Testament is the constant use of the word “Messiah”, the Hebrew word “mashiaẖ” translated as “Khristós” in the Greek from whence we get the word “Christ”. It is not just “used” but repeated so often that we in our modern-day easy-chairs rock right by it and do not understand its significance. Just so you understand the significance being placed on this word, Paul uses it 53 times in 49 verses in Ephesians. He could have just as easily used the words “Jesus” or “Lord”. But over and over again Paul and the New Testament writers add the word, “Khristós” or “Messiah” to the word “Jesus” as a modifier. Why? Go back to Artemis and the Ephesians. In Acts of the Apostles the Ephesians claimed that her image fell from heaven to earth. According to legend she was a great hunter, protecting and supplying food for the hungry. She brought blessing to her worshipers from the world of nature. The word “Artemis” possibly comes from the Persian root meaning “great, excellent and holy”. In essence, the Ephesians saw her “coming from heaven” as a “messiah” to protect and supply food for the poor. These pagan concepts Paul must now transfer from their former church worship of Artemis to the worship of Jesus, the true Khristos.

From: Paul, an apostle of the Messiah Jesus by God’s will.

To: His holy and faithful people in Ephesus who are in union with the Messiah Jesus. May grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, be yours!

For many people and churches Paul represents a “new gospel” in the Bible. They claim that Paul preached something different for those of us in the New Testament from that which was taught in the Old Testament. But Paul refutes that concept right in the beginning of his letter to the Ephesians. He states that he is an apostle of Jesus and is writing to those who are in union with Jesus.

To be an apostle of Jesus or to be in union with Jesus, it is imperative to believe what Jesus taught and live as Jesus lived. Jesus commanded His apostles and those who were in union with Him to go into all the world “teaching them to obey everything that I’ve commanded you.” Matthew 28:20. At no time does Jesus give any of His apostles, churches or believers any authority to change or “update” what He commanded. And what were those commands that Jesus wanted us to teach the world?

1. Be perfect – Matthew 5:48
2. Stop sinning – John 5:14; 8:11
3. Keep the Ten Commandments to get eternal life – Matthew 19:17
4. He did not come to destroy the Law or the prophets of the Old Testament – Matthew 5:17
5. He commands us to follow Him – Matthew 4:19

Since Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, every one of His apostles, disciples and followers today must teach and live as He taught and lived. That is the only way we can be in “union with the Messiah Jesus”. After all, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” Amos 3:3. Of course not! Nothing in Paul’s letters will contradict the teachings and life of Jesus. If they did, they would not be of God. The seemingly contradictions come not through Paul, but through modern day “ignorant and unstable” churches and their interpretations of Paul. 2 Peter 3:16.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah! He has blessed us in the Messiah with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm, just as He chose us in the Messiah before the creation of the universe to be holy and blameless in His presence. In love He predestined us for adoption to Himself through Jesus the Messiah, according to the pleasure of His will, so that we would praise His glorious grace that He gave us in the Beloved One.

The gospel Paul taught is the same that God gave to the Messiah “before the creation of the universe”. That gospel was for us “to be holy and blameless”. Nothing has changed since God is a God who cannot change His righteous and eternal law. That law, the Ten Commandments, is the character of God written out for us to see and understand. Those who obey the Ten Commandments will then “be holy and blameless in his presence.” Why? Because the Ten Commandments are holy and blameless. Sin is the breaking of the Ten Commandments. 1 John 3:4. Those who get to heaven will be those “who keep the commandments of God and hold fast to their faithfulness in Jesus”. Revelation 14:12. Our “faithfulness in Jesus” will be shown by our obedience to the Ten Commandments as Jesus was.

In union with Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our offenses, according to the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us, along with all wisdom and understanding, when He made known to us the secret of His will. This was according to His plan that He set forth in the Messiah to usher in the fullness of the times and to bring together in the Messiah all things in heaven and on earth.

How do we have “redemption”? How do we have “salvation”? By grace? No! By “believing”? No! By being in “union with Him”. How do we achieve this “union with Him”? Jesus said, “I am the vine, and you are the branches. . . stay joined to Me, and I stay joined to you . . . stay joined to Me and let My teachings become part of you.” John 15:5, 7. And the teaching of Jesus is, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” John 14:15. As God’s people in the Old Testament were to be in union with God by the keeping of His Ten Commandments, so God’s people in the New Testament are to be in union with God by the keeping of His Ten Commandments. Nothing has changed except the sacrifice. As those in the Old Testament looked forward in faith to the coming sacrifice of the Messiah; we in the New Testament look back in faith to the finished sacrifice of the Messiah.

Another concept in that paragraph is “to bring together in the Messiah all things in heaven and on earth”. We are not to bring together in the name of a “church”. We are not to bring together in the name of a denomination. It is only in Jesus we are to come together. We are to “press together” in obedience to Jesus.

In the Messiah we were also chosen when we were predestined according to the purpose of the one who does everything that He wills to do, so that we who had already fixed our hope on the Messiah might live for His praise and glory. You, too, have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed in the Messiah, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until God redeems His own possession for His praise and glory.

Did you notice? It is through the “gospel of your salvation” that we are saved. And what was the “gospel” that Jesus taught for our salvation? That “gospel must be proclaimed to all nations.” Mark 13:10. That “gospel” is the gospel Jesus taught: be perfect, stop sinning and keep the Ten Commandments to get your eternal life. Paul knew the gospel as Jesus had taught it. He taught the very same gospel. That is the only way Paul, you or I can be in “union with the Messiah”. God predestined every single person to be in “union with the Messiah”. That was His loving purpose. But God cannot force anyone to accept His predestined purpose. Each is free to accept whether or not he will live in union with the Messiah’s predestined purpose.

Therefore, because I have heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I never stop giving thanks for you as I mention you in my prayers. I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, the most glorious Father, would give you a wise spirit, along with revelation that comes through knowing the Messiah fully. Then, with the eyes of your hearts enlightened, you will know the confidence that is produced by God having called you, the rich glory that is His inheritance among the saints, and the unlimited greatness of His power for us who believe, according to the working of His mighty strength, which He brought about in the Messiah when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realm. He is far above every ruler, authority, power, dominion, and every name that can be named, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. God has put everything under the Messiah’s feet and has made Him the head of everything for the good of the assembly, which is His body, the fullness of the one who fills everything in every way.

Paul had heard of their faith in the Messiah which produced love for each other. Why did it produce love for one another? Because their faith was put into work by following the example of the Messiah. They followed His command “that you love one another as I have loved you.” John 15:12. And how did Jesus love us? He lived the perfect, sinless life by obedience to the Ten Commandments. That obedience led Him to the cross for us. Are you following the commands of Jesus? Are you sacrificing your life as He did?

The power of God through Jesus Christ is the power of obedience. “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13. By putting our faith to work in the Messiah, we live in obedience to His commands. Then as we “strive” (Luke 13:24) to be obedient, the Spirit of God comes to strengthen us in our will to follow Jesus in His perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life. Those who live as such are now “the assembly, which is His body”. The “assembly” is not a man-made institution or denomination of this earth. The true “assembly of God” is made up of those who are in union with Jesus. The true assembly is spiritual.

“God has put everything under the Messiah’s feet and has made Him the head of everything.” That text shows plainly that Paul understood the fact that the Messiah was the head and was to be obeyed. Paul was not teaching another gospel. Paul is not the “head” of the church. Peter is not the “head” of the church. Paul is not to be understood in any doctrine as negating the teachings of Jesus who is the Head of the assembly. Jesus and Jesus only. Any church doctrine that does not agree with Jesus is not of God. All doctrine must agree with Jesus and His teachings. 2 John 1:8-11. It is amazing how most Protestants will condemn the Catholics for making Peter the head of their church. And yet, at the same time, most Protestants make Paul the head of their theology. Jesus and Jesus only is to be our Head.

You used to be dead because of your offenses and sins, that you once practiced as you lived according to the ways of this present world and according to the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit that is now active in those who are disobedient. Indeed, all of us once behaved like them in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of our flesh and senses. By nature we were destined for wrath, just like everyone else.

How true. We used to be dead. We were the walking dead. Zombies of a sinful world. All sin will be burned up. Those who live for the lusts of the flesh and in disobedience to the Ten Commandments will be “destined for wrath” and destroyed. That is what our old sinful nature destined us for. But the grace of God opened up the narrow way for eternal life. Those who walk in “union with the Messiah” on that narrow, commandment keeping way will have eternal life.

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love for us even when we were dead because of our offenses, made us alive together with the Messiah (by grace you have been saved), raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly realm in the Messiah Jesus, so that in the coming ages He might display the limitless riches of His grace that comes to us through His kindness in the Messiah Jesus.

There was and is nothing in us that deserved the rich mercy of God in opening up the narrow way of Salvation for us. We “were destined for wrath”. We all should have been destroyed because of our rebellious sins against God. But by His “grace you have been saved” from immediate death, in your sinful life. God in His grace gave us the Ten Commandments so that if we are willing, by faith, to change our lives and live in obedience to them, He will raise “us up with Him” when He comes to take His obedient children home. Grace does not save us eternally, grace saves us from immediate death. Remember, “Everyone who sins breaks God’s law, because sin is the same as breaking God’s law.” 1 John 3:4. And the “wages of sin is death”. Romans 6:23. So, we all deserve death, but the grace of God keeps us physically alive while we learn to live, by faith, in obedience to the Ten Commandments. Romans 1:5. What grace! Praise God for Grace!

For by such grace (keeping us alive physically), you have been saved (eternally) through faith. This does not come from you; it is the gift of God and not the result of actions, to put a stop to all boasting. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

What “does not come from you”? Eternal life. Grace opened the narrow way of salvation. God didn’t have to open it. Nothing in us required God to open the way of salvation. “We were destined for wrath” and death. Nothing in us or from us could open that narrow way of salvation. Only the grace and love of God was able to open the door to eternal life for all who “have been saved through faith”. It is “obedience that springs from faith” that saves us. Romans 16:26. Grace only opens the narrow way. Only those who “strive to enter in at the strait gate” and “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling” will have that eternal life that “does not come from you”. Luke 13:24; Philippians 2:12.

The grace given is not because of anything you have or can do. You cannot manufacture salvation. We all deserve death. The way of salvation is a free gift so no one can boast about their own good works. God did not have to open the way of salvation. He could have left us to die in our sins. But because of His grace, He opened up the narrow way to salvation. We now have an opportunity to earn, through faith, our personal eternal salvation by performing the “good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” And what are those good works? They are the Ten Commandments that Jesus told us to keep in order to get our eternal life. Matthew 19:17. No church works, no human works, no self-righteous works will get us into Heaven. Why? “To put a stop to all boasting”. Whether Jew or Gentile, the only way to eternal life is through obedience to the Ten Commandments in order to develop the character fit for living in a holy, sinless and commandment keeping Heaven.

So then, remember that at one time you gentiles by birth were called “the uncircumcised” by those who called themselves “the circumcised.” They underwent physical circumcision done by human hands. At that time you were without the Messiah, excluded from citizenship in Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise. You had no hope and were in the world without God.

Here Paul is reminding the gentiles that according to the Jews, they were not fit for eternal life. Notice, they were “excluded from citizenship in Israel”. They were not “excluded” from God. Because the Jews had excluded the gentiles from the knowledge of the Ten Commandments, the gentiles “had no hope and were in the world without God.” That was not God’s will. That was a result of the blindness, rebellion, ego and pride of the church of the Jewish nation. They became so bigoted and self-righteous they built up church walls between them and the world. They thought that the knowledge of their church, rituals, services, foods and traditions made them special, “the remnant” and saved while everyone else was lost. They hid their light under their church “bushels” and refused to let God’s light shine to the world. The same is true today in our churches.

But now, in union with the Messiah Jesus, you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of the Messiah. For it is He who is our peace. Through His humanity He made both groups one by tearing down the wall of hostility that divided them. He abolished the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that He might create in Himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, and reconciling both groups to God in one body through the cross, on which He eliminated the hostility.

Church is not our peace. Church is not our Saviour. Church has nothing to do with eternal life. All those services, rituals, traditions, foods and rites have nothing to do with eternal life. The death of Jesus, “abolished the law of commandments expressed in ordinances” of the church. It wasn’t the Ten Commandments that were abolished. It was the “commandments expressed in ordinances” that were abolished. Jesus, being the “Lamb of God”, did away with the church regulations and ordinances and left firmly in place the Ten Commandments as the only “narrow way” for salvation. The Jews took the pure system of Christ that was given to the whole world as a representative of His perfect salvation and defiled it for their own selfish means. How like our churches today. Just like the Jews of Christ’s day, the churches today make salvation explicit to themselves through rites, ceremonies, traditions, foods and ordinances. But Jesus is destroying the bigoted church systems and is reconciling everyone to Himself through the Ten Commandments.

“As I saw the dreadful fact that God’s people were conformed to the world, with no distinction, except in name, between many of the professed disciples of the meek and lowly Jesus and unbelievers, my soul felt deep anguish. I saw that Jesus was wounded and put to an open shame. Said the angel, as with sorrow he saw the professed people of God loving the world, partaking of its spirit, and following its fashions: ‘Cut loose! Cut loose! lest He appoint you your portion with hypocrites and unbelievers outside the city. Your profession will only cause you greater anguish, and your punishment will be greater because ye knew His will, but did it not.’

“Those who profess to believe the third angel’s message often wound the cause of God by lightness, joking, and trifling. I was shown that this evil was all through our ranks. There should be a humbling before the Lord; the Israel of God should rend the heart, and not the garment. Childlike simplicity is rarely seen; the approbation of man is more thought of than the displeasure of God. Said the angel: ‘Set your heart in order, lest He visit you in judgment, and the brittle thread of life be cut, and ye lie down in the grave unsheltered, unprepared for the judgment. Or if ye do not make your bed in the grave, unless ye soon make your peace with God, and tear yourselves from the world, your hearts will grow harder, and ye will lean upon a false prop, a supposed preparation, and find out your mistake too late to secure a well-grounded hope.’

“I saw that some professed Sabbathkeepers spend hours that are worse than thrown away, in studying this or that fashion to decorate the poor, mortal body. While you make yourselves appear like the world, and as beautiful as you can, remember that the same body may in a few days be food for worms. And while you adorn it to your taste, to please the eye, you are dying spiritually. God hates your vain, wicked pride, and He looks upon you as a whited sepulcher, full of corruption and uncleanness within.’” {1T 133-134}

He came and proclaimed peace for you who were far away and for you who were near. For through Him, both of us have access to the Father by one Spirit. That is why you are no longer strangers and foreigners but fellow citizens with the saints and members of God’s household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, the Messiah Jesus Himself being the cornerstone.

Here again we find that Paul is not doing away with the Old Testament, but is upholding the Old Testament as the “foundation” all citizens and saints are to be built on. Jesus is very plain that He came not to abolish the Old Testament. Matthew 5:17. He came to abolish the temple sacrifices, festivals, church services and rituals. That is why at His death the curtain of the temple church was torn from top to bottom. The way to Christ is no longer shrouded in symbols and sacrifices, but by His living death. Jesus is the corner stone of the Old Testament. Without the Old Testament you have no Messiah. Without the Messiah you have no Old Testament. Our citizenship to Heaven does not include church membership or what foods you eat but obedience to the Ten Commandments through faith in union with the Messiah.

In union with Him the whole building is joined together and rises into a holy sanctuary for the Lord. You, too, are being built in Him, along with the others, into a place for God’s Spirit to dwell. For this reason I, Paul, am the prisoner of the Messiah Jesus for the sake of you gentiles. Surely you have heard about the responsibility of administering God’s grace that was given to me on your behalf, and how this secret was made known to me through a revelation, just as I wrote about briefly in the past. By reading this, you will be able to grasp my understanding of the secret about the Messiah, which in previous generations was not made known to human beings as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets. This is that secret: The gentiles are heirs-in-common, members-in-common of the body, and common participants in what was promised by the Messiah Jesus through the gospel.

The key word is “union”. Paul is very adamant about this concept. There is nothing new in the teachings of Paul. He is simply explaining the mystery that had been hidden for ages. The meaning of the temple church services and sacrifices had been lost by the church over time and had become mere rituals and routines that began to take on “salvation” importance to the church. Paul is simply revealing what had been lost by the church. The whole building, both Old and New Testaments, were to be raised up together, each complementing the other, each explaining the other. Keep in mind, when Paul told Timothy to study “Scripture” for his salvation, “Scripture” to Paul and the early Christians was only the Old Testament. There was no “New Testament”, as we have it today, until 300 years after Paul. The “secret” as Paul says, was that the Gentiles had always been members of God’s body. They were never excluded. It was the church system, under the control of man, which excluded the gentiles.

Chained to Ten Commandments“For this reason I, Paul, am the prisoner of the Messiah Jesus.” Paul is using his Roman prisoner experience as an allegory to show our “union” with Christ. We are to be prisoners of the Messiah. We are to be chained to Jesus. Our life is to be chained up with His. Whatever Jesus taught, however He lived, we are to follow His teachings and live as He lived as if we were chained directly to Him.

I have become a servant of this gospel according to the gift of God’s grace that was given me by the working of His power. To me, the very least of all the saints, this grace was given so that I might proclaim to the gentiles the immeasurable wealth of the Messiah and help everyone see how this secret that has been at work was hidden for ages in God, who created all things. He did this so that now, through the assembly, the wisdom of God in all its variety might be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realm keeping with the eternal purpose that God carried out through the Messiah Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and confident access through His faithfulness.

The church of man had hidden the mystery and plan of God. The church of man excluded others from the salvation that had been given to all men freely. Once the man-made organizations are swept away, the spiritual assembly of God can be revealed. The “hidden” truths of God can once more be radiated to the world through the spiritual assembly of Christ. The “eternal purpose that God carried out through the Messiah Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and confident access through His faithfulness.” The key word is “eternal”. God is the God of the whole world. He is no respecter of persons. Salvation was never limited to any one people, church or time. The Ten Commandments were given to Adam, then to Noah, then to Abraham and finally to the Israelites to give to the world. Just as they were given to the apostles, again, to be given to the world for our salvation. It was the church, after hundreds of years, that slowly walled in the “eternal purpose” of God from the world. Jesus came to take back His assembly and proclaim the truth the church had defiled. The churches today are doing the same thing. That is why Jesus commands us to get out of them and join His spiritual assembly.

So then, I ask you not to become discouraged because of my troubles on your behalf, which work toward your glory. This is the reason I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, from whom every family in heaven and on earth receives its name. I pray that He would give you, according to His glorious riches, strength in your inner being and power through His Spirit, and that the Messiah would make His home in your hearts through faith.

God does not dwell in man-made churches. He wants to “make His home in your hearts through faith”. That is the true assembly. The spiritual assembly of God, from Adam to now, is in the heart. It is the true “church of God”. The outward manifestation of the assembly in the heart is revealed by those who live as Jesus lived: perfect, sinless and obedient, “rooted and grounded” in the Ten Commandments of love.

Then, having been rooted and grounded in love, you will be able to understand, along with all the saints, what is wide, long, high, and deep—that is, you will know the love of the Messiah—which transcends knowledge, and will be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to the one who can do infinitely more than all we can ask or imagine according to the power that is working among us—to him be glory in the assembly and in the Messiah Jesus to all generations, forever and ever! Amen.

The fullness of God’s love did not begin in the New Testament. It has always been. The glory of God, His perfection, His sinlessness and His Ten Commandment keeping character is to be the “glory in the assembly”. But if church is no longer teaching us how to get that “glory” through obedience to the Ten Commandments, then “church” becomes a meaningless ritual of activities that does nothing for our eternal life. We must be “rooted and grounded” in the Ten Commandments of love in order to be part of God’s spiritual assembly.

I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, urge you to live in a way that is worthy of the calling to which you have been called, demonstrating all expressions of humility, gentleness, and patience, accepting one another in love. Do your best to maintain the unity of the Spirit by means of the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit. Likewise, you were called to the one hope of your calling. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, through all, and in all. Now to each one of us grace has been given proportionate to the measure of the Messiah’s gift.

Even though Paul is writing this as a Roman prisoner, he is not talking about his Roman imprisonment. He is talking about being “the prisoner of the Lord” in unity and obedience to the Ten Commandments as Jesus was. There has always been only “one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all”. Paul learned that concept from the Old Testament. Deuteronomy 6:4. Jesus is the One for all mankind. He is the One for all humanity. He has never changed. You must get into that One-ship if you want to travel to Heaven and have eternal life. Being in union, by faith, with God’s will of obedience to the Ten Commandments is the ticket to boarding that One-ship. If you belong to another “ship” you will be lost.

That is why God says, “When He went up to the highest place He led captives into captivity and gave gifts to people.” Now what does this “He went up” mean except that He also had gone down into the lower parts of the earth? The one who went down is the same one who went up above all the heavens so that all things would be fulfilled. And it is He who gifted some to be apostles, others to be prophets, others to be evangelists, and still others to be pastors and teachers, to equip the saints, to do the work of ministry, and to build up the body of the Messiah until all of us are united in the faith and in the full knowledge of God’s Son, and until we attain mature adulthood and the full standard of development in the Messiah.

Nothing has changed from Old Testament to New Testament. He who is gifting people in the New Testament also gifted people in the Old Testament for the purpose of building “up the body of the Messiah until all of us are united in the faith”. From Adam to now God has been working to draw us, building us up, “until all of us are united in the faith”. That faith was broken by Adam and Eve when they disobeyed God. Since then it has been the grace of God to lead us back to “faithful obedience” to the Ten Commandments. Romans 1:5.

Then we will no longer be little children, tossed like waves and blown about by every wind of doctrine, by people’s trickery, or by clever strategies that would lead us astray. Instead, by speaking the truth in love, we will grow up completely and become one with the head, that is, one with the Messiah, in whom the whole body is united and held together by every ligament with which it is supplied. As each individual part does its job, the body builds itself up in love.

Paul is reiterating over and over again that he is not to be lifted up, idolized or made the “head”. No church is to be our “head”. We are all to “grow up completely and become one with the head, that is, one with the Messiah.” Don’t be little children led about by your church, your pastor or your denomination claiming that Paul is teaching a “new” doctrine or “new” salvation. Their “trickery”, or their “clever strategies” are only to beguile you and keep you in the bondage of sin. Don’t let them “lead you astray” from Jesus. Paul, in all his writings, is bringing us back to the Rock, Jesus Christ, His life, His teachings and His Ten Commandments.

Therefore, I tell you and insist on in the Lord not to live any longer like the gentiles live, thinking worthless thoughts. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of their ignorance and hardness of heart. Since they have lost all sense of shame, they have abandoned themselves to sensuality and practice every kind of sexual perversion without restraint.

If your church is teaching you that the Ten Commandments are done away with, and you no longer have to keep them or any portion of them, you are being taught “worthless thoughts”. If they are teaching you “church” instead of “Jesus” or the concept that you can’t live the perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life, “They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of their ignorance and hardness of heart”.

However, that is not the way you came to know the Messiah. Surely you have listened to Him and have been taught by Him, since truth is in Jesus. Regarding your former way of life, you were taught to strip off your old nature, which is being ruined by its deceptive desires, to be renewed in your mental attitude, and to clothe yourselves with the new nature, which was created according to God’s image in righteousness and true holiness.

Paul again is bringing you back to Jesus. “Surely you have listened to Him and have been taught by Him, since truth is in Jesus.” However, I know of no churches, denominations or pastors today who are bringing people to Jesus. It is all about “our church”. Paul is not the truth. Paul is not our head. Church is not “the truth”. Church is not our head. Paul is simply a signpost directing us to listen to Jesus who is our teacher and the truth. We are to have the new nature of Christ’s perfection, sinlessness and obedience to the Ten Commandments. Anything else is “your old nature” and you must strip it off. You must strip off your church and its falsehood.

Therefore, stripping off falsehood, “let each of us speak the truth to his neighbor,” for we belong to one another. “Be angry, yet do not sin.” Do not let the sun set while you are still angry, and do not give the devil an opportunity to work. The thief must no longer steal but must work hard and do what is good with his own hands, so that he might earn something to give to the needy. Let no filthy talk be heard from your mouths, but only what is good for building up people and meeting the need of the moment. This way you will administer grace to those who hear you.

“Stripping off falsehood”. All churches are filled with “falsehood”. They teach the “antichrist” teachings, those teachings that are “in place of” the teachings of Christ. The Truth of Jesus tells us to stop sinning, the lying church and its members tell us “you can’t”. The Truth of Jesus tells us to be perfect, the lying church and its members tell us “you can’t”. The Truth of Jesus tells us to keep the Ten Commandments for our eternal life, the lying church and its members tell us “you can’t”. Your lying church and its members are “antichrist”. Strip it off and “Come out of her, My people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues”. Revelation 18:4.

Do not grieve the Holy Spirit, by whom you were marked with a seal for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, quarreling, and slander be put away from you, along with all hatred. And be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another just as God has forgiven you in the Messiah. So be imitators of God, as His dear children. Live lovingly, just as the Messiah also loved us and gave Himself for us as an offering and sacrifice, a fragrant aroma to God.

“Do not grieve the Holy Spirit.” How did Adam and Eve “grieve the Holy Spirit” of God? By disobedience to the command of God. They placed their own wills, desires and feelings above the will, desire and feelings of God. To live as God wants us to live, to be imitators of God, is to live in obedience to the Ten Commandments as Jesus lives in obedience to them. That is how we show our love to God and love to each other. By living in obedience to the Ten Commandments, the Holy Spirit then marks us with the seal of God. That seal is the keeping of the 7th day Sabbath. That 7th day Sabbath is the 4th commandment of the Ten Commandments. The Old Testament tells us that those who keep it are sealed in God. “Bind up the testimony, seal the law among My disciples.” Isaiah 8:16. “Moreover also I gave them my Sabbaths, to be a sign between Me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.” Ezekiel 20:12.

However, going to church is not keeping the Sabbath. Church-going has nothing to do with Sabbath keeping. Nowhere in all the Bible are we commanded to go to church. To keep the Sabbath holy we must be holy. The whole day and life is to be kept holy for Jesus. But if you continue in your sins, you are not holy and you are not keeping the Sabbath holy. “I was shown that those who are trying to obey God and purify their souls through obedience to the truth are God’s chosen people, His modern Israel.” 2T 109.1

Do not let sexual sin, impurity of any kind, or greed even be mentioned among you, as is proper for saints. Obscene, flippant, or vulgar talk is totally inappropriate. Instead, let there be thanksgiving. For you know very well that no immoral or impure person, or anyone who is greedy (that is, an idolater), has an inheritance in the kingdom of the Messiah and of God. Do not let anyone deceive you with meaningless words, for it is because of these things that God becomes angry with those who disobey. So do not be partners with them. For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light, for the fruit that the light produces consists of every form of goodness, righteousness, and truth. Determine what pleases the Lord, and have nothing to do with the unfruitful actions that darkness produces. Instead, expose them for what they are. For it is shameful even to mention what is done by these disobedient people in secret. But everything that is exposed to the light becomes visible, for the light is making everything visible. That is why it says, “Wake up, sleeper! Arise from the dead, and the Messiah will shine on you.’’ So, then, be careful how you live. Do not be unwise but wise, making the best use of your time because the times are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Stop getting drunk with wine, which leads to wild living, but keep on being filled with the Spirit. Then you will recite to one another psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; you will sing and make music to the Lord with your hearts; you will consistently give thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah; and you will submit to one another out of reverence for the Messiah.

Perfection! Everything the Bible teaches revolves around perfection. God is perfect. What pleases God? To be perfect like Him. That is why Jesus commanded us to be perfect, stop sinning and to keep the Ten Commandments for our eternal life. In all we do, we are to live as He lived. Every thought, every word, every action, every attitude is to reflect the perfect will of God. That is why our churches are so deceptively deadly today. We look to our churches instead of to Jesus. By beholding we become changed. By going to church we lower ourselves to the level of the church. Our eyes are on sinful humans who sit in church and have no desire to change their lives. “So do not be partners with them”, otherwise you are settling down into a church-sleep and will be destroyed. “Wake up, sleeper!” Wake up and have nothing to do with those who are only putting on an act and a show. Stay home and open your Bibles and find out “what pleases the Lord” and give Him your whole life.

Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of his wife as the Messiah is the head of the assembly. It is He who is the Savior of the body. Indeed, just as the assembly is submissive to the Messiah, so wives must be submissive to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives as the Messiah loved the assembly and gave Himself for it, so that He might make it holy by cleansing it, washing it with water and the word, and might present the assembly to Himself in all its glory, without a spot or wrinkle or anything of the kind, but holy and without fault.
All creation symbolizes the character of God. The relationships of humanity are to symbolize and represent the relationship between humanity and God. As wives are to submit to the authority of their husbands, giving their whole lives to their husbands, so Christians are to submit to the authority of Jesus. For a wife to submit to another man would be adultery. For a Christian to submit to a church or another entity is adultery. And as Jesus is purifying the assembly by His love, husbands are to purify their wives by their love. In both cases, we are to represent the perfection that is to be represented in marriage, without a spot or wrinkle.

In the same way, husbands must love their wives as they love their own bodies. A man who loves his wife loves himself. For no one has ever hated his own body, but he nourishes and tenderly cares for it, as the Messiah does the assembly. For we are parts of His body—of His flesh and of His bones. “That is why a man will leave his father and mother and be united with his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” This is a great secret, but I am talking about the Messiah and the assembly. But each individual man among you must love his wife as he loves himself; and may the wife fear her husband.

Anarchy has entered the world today. Why? Because anarchy has entered the church and then the family. As the churches have separate from their “Husband” and live as they please, teaching what they please, believing what they please, so the world is following the example of the churches. Anarchy is the result. Marriage is no longer a union and oneness. It is simply two or more people living together for convenience as they please. The teaching of “saved by grace” by the church is an abomination that is destroying the world. Since the churches are teaching “saved by grace” we can live any way we want and still be saved. It has seeped into every aspect of our lives destroying the very fabric of society. Since the churches are teaching us that we no longer need to be obedient to God’s Laws, we and our children no longer live in obedience to the laws of family or society. Hence, anarchy. As children were commanded to obey their parents, so we, children of God, are to be obedient to Jesus in living as He commands us: perfect, sinless and commandment keeping.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. “Honor your father and mother...” (This is a very important commandment with a promise.) “ that it may go well for you, and that you may have a long life on the earth.” Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up by training and instructing them about the Lord. Slaves, obey your earthly masters with fear, trembling, and sincerity, as when you obey the Messiah. Do not do this only while you’re being watched in order to please them, but be like slaves of the Messiah, who are determined to obey God’s will. Serve willingly, as if you were serving the Lord and not merely people, because you know that everyone will receive a reward from the Lord for whatever good he has done, whether he is a slave or free. Masters, treat your slaves the same way. Do not threaten them, for you know that both of you have the same Master in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.

We are to be slaves of Jesus Christ “determined to obey God’s will”. We are to be children living in obedience to our Father and Jesus Christ. Nothing of this world is to separate us from living in obedience to God. We are not to go to church putting on a show while people watch. We are to live perfect at all times, for God has no favoritism. All will be judge by the Ten Commandments. All will live or die by their actions.

Finally, be strong in the Lord, relying on His mighty strength. Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the devil’s strategies. For our struggle is not against human opponents, but against rulers, authorities, cosmic powers in the darkness around us, and evil spiritual forces in the heavenly realm. For this reason, take up the whole armor of God so that you may be able to take a stand whenever evil comes. And when you have done everything you could, you will be able to stand firm. Stand firm, therefore, having fastened the belt of truth around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and being firm-footed in the gospel of peace. In addition to having clothed yourselves with these things, having taken up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to put out all the flaming arrows of the evil one, also take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times with every kind of prayer and request. Likewise, be alert with your most diligent efforts and pray for all the saints. Pray also for me, so that, when I begin to speak, the right words will come to me. Then I will boldly make known the secret of the gospel, for whose sake I am an ambassador in chains, desiring to declare the gospel as boldly as I should. So that you may know what has happened to me and how I am doing, Tychicus, our dear brother and a faithful minister in service to the Lord, will tell you everything. I am sending him to you for this very reason, so that you may know how we are doing and that he may encourage your hearts. May peace and love, with faith, be with the brothers, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus, the Messiah! May grace be with all who sincerely love the Lord Jesus, the Messiah!

How few are taking up and putting on the whole armor of God. Instead, they put on church. They put on entertainment. They put on videos. They put on music. They put on games. But few know of, or understand, what the armor of God is. As the Roman soldier covered himself from head to foot with armor, so we are not to leave any part of our minds, bodies and lives vulnerable to the darts and arrows of the evil one and the world. By study, not just reading, studying, hours every day in the Word of God, we are to fortify our minds in the truth of God. Learning how to fight the good fight of faith and live as Jesus lived: perfect, without sin. Then you will know how to “declare the gospel as boldly” as God wants you to. Then you will be in union with the Messiah, Jesus.

The Inspiration of the Word of God

This is a time when the question with all propriety may be asked, “When the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8).

Spiritual darkness has covered the earth and gross darkness the people. There are in many churches skepticism and infidelity in the interpretation of the Scriptures. Many, very many, are questioning the verity and truth of the Scriptures. Human reasoning and the imaginings of the human heart are undermining the inspiration of the Word of God, and that which should be received as granted, is surrounded with a cloud of mysticism. Nothing stands out in clear and distinct lines, upon rock bottom. This is one of the marked signs of the last days.

This Holy Book has withstood the assaults of Satan, who has united with evil men to make everything of divine character shrouded in clouds and darkness. But the Lord has preserved this Holy Book by His own miraculous power in its present shape—a chart or guidebook to the human family to show them the way to heaven.

But the oracles of God have been so manifestly neglected that there are but few in our world, even of those who profess to explain it to others, who have the divine knowledge of the Scriptures. There are learned men who have a college education, but these shepherds do not feed the flock of God. They do not consider that the excellencies of the Scriptures will be continually unfolding their hidden treasures as precious jewels are discovered by digging for them.

There are men who strive to be original, who are wise above what is written; therefore, their wisdom is foolishness. They discover wonderful things in advance, ideas which reveal that they are far behind in the comprehension of the divine will and purposes of God. In seeking to make plain or to unravel mysteries hid from ages from mortal man, they are like a man floundering about in the mud, unable to extricate himself and yet telling others how to get out of the muddy sea they themselves are in. This is a fit representation of the men who set themselves to correct the errors of the Bible. No man can improve the Bible by suggesting what the Lord meant to say or ought to have said.

Some look to us gravely and say, “Don’t you think there might have been some mistake in the copyist or in the translators?” This is all probable, and the mind that is so narrow that it will hesitate and stumble over this possibility or probability would be just as ready to stumble over the mysteries of the Inspired Word, because their feeble minds cannot see through the purposes of God. Yes, they would just as easily stumble over plain facts that the common mind will accept, and discern the Divine, and to which God’s utterance is plain and beautiful, full of marrow and fatness. All the mistakes will not cause trouble to one soul, or cause any feet to stumble, that would not manufacture difficulties from the plainest revealed truth.

God committed the preparation of His divinely inspired Word to finite man. This Word, arranged into books, the Old and New Testaments, is the guidebook to the inhabitants of a fallen world, bequeathed to them that, by studying and obeying the directions, not one soul would lose its way to heaven.

Those who think to make the supposed difficulties of Scripture plain, in measuring by their finite rule that which is inspired and that which is not inspired, had better cover their faces, as Elijah when the still small voice spoke to him; for they are in the presence of God and holy angels, who for ages have communicated to men light and knowledge, telling them what to do and what not to do, unfolding before them scenes of thrilling interest, waymark by waymark in symbols and signs and illustrations.

And He [God] has not, while presenting the perils clustering about the last days, qualified any finite man to unravel hidden mysteries or inspired one man or any class of men to pronounce judgment as to that which is inspired or is not. When men, in their finite judgment, find it necessary to go into an examination of scriptures to define that which is inspired and that which is not, they have stepped before Jesus to show Him a better way than He has led us.

I take the Bible just as it is, as the Inspired Word. I believe its utterances in an entire Bible. Men arise who think they find something to criticize in God’s Word. They lay it bare before others as evidence of superior wisdom. These men are, many of them, smart men, learned men, they have eloquence and talent, the whole lifework [of whom] is to unsettle minds in regard to the inspiration of the Scriptures. They influence many to see as they do. And the same work is passed on from one to another, just as Satan designed it should be, until we may see the full meaning of the words of Christ, “When the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8).

Brethren, let not a mind or hand be engaged in criticizing the Bible. It is a work that Satan delights to have any of you do, but it is not a work the Lord has pointed out for you to do.

Men should let God take care of His own Book, His living oracles, as He has done for ages. They begin to question some parts of revelation, and pick flaws in the apparent inconsistencies of this statement and that statement. Beginning at Genesis, they give up that which they deem questionable, and their minds lead on, for Satan will lead to any length they may follow in their criticism, and they see something to doubt in the whole Scriptures. Their faculties of criticism become sharpened by exercise, and they can rest on nothing with a certainty. You try to reason with these men, but your time is lost. They will exercise their power of ridicule even upon the Bible. They even become mockers, and they would be astonished if you put it to them in that light.

Brethren, cling to your Bible, as it reads, and stop your criticisms in regard to its validity, and obey the Word, and not one of you will be lost. The ingenuity of men has been exercised for ages to measure the Word of God by their finite minds and limited comprehension. If the Lord, the Author of the living oracles, would throw back the curtain and reveal His wisdom and His glory before them, they would shrink into nothingness and exclaim as did Isaiah, “I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of people of unclean lips” (Isaiah 6:5).

Simplicity and plain utterance are comprehended by the illiterate, by the peasant, and the child as well as by the full-grown man or the giant in intellect. If the individual is possessed of large talents of mental powers, he will find in the oracles of God treasures of truth, beautiful and valuable, which he can appropriate. He will also find difficulties, and secrets and wonders which will give him the highest satisfaction to study during a long lifetime, and yet there is an infinity beyond.

Men of humble acquirements, possessing but limited capabilities and opportunities to become conversant in the Scriptures, find in the living oracles comfort, guidance, counsel, and the plan of salvation as clear as a sunbeam. No one need be lost for want of knowledge, unless he is willfully blind.

We thank God that the Bible is prepared for the poor man as well as for the learned man. It is fitted for all ages and all classes.—Manuscript 16, 1888 {1SM 15-18}

As you can see, any deviation from the Word of God to stop sinning, be perfect and to keep the Ten Commandments for our eternal life is not of God. Those who propagate such satanic concepts will be destroyed. Those who fight against this ministry, criticize it, find fault with it and try to hinder its mission are not of God.

Dear Brother,
I was wondering if you would send me a book called, “Change Your Life Biblically”, a Bible study and a pen-pal, please? I am a born again child of God and I love the Lord. I have been walking with God for about a year right now. I fell a little but I have turned my life back over to Christ and I’m living one day at a time.
Demetris, CA

Dear Jesus Christ Prison Ministry,
I read over the study guide you sent me and I really love it. I would love to take the course and learn more about the Bible. If possible, I would also like to have a pen-pal website and someone to write to. Plus, a free Bible. I think that I’ll enjoy the study course and for someone to help me with questions and someone to keep me on the right track.
Dewand, NC

May I please receive a copy of the Bible study, “Change Your Life Biblically”?
William, SC

Praise the Lord,
I am writing because I would like to become a member of your ministry. I would like to have your Bible study lessons. I want to earn a “Change Your life Biblically” book. I learned of your ministry through a female inmate here.
Nettie, GA

I am here doing 16 months. A friend of mine showed me this book, “Change Your Life Biblically”. He told me to write and you would send me one. I am new to this so I am trying to understand as much as I can. If you have any other books that could help me, I would like that a lot.
Nathan, CA

Dear Sir,
I received your contact info from a resource list put out by “So Blessed Ministries”. I don’t have anybody out there that writes me. The family I do have is upset with me coming to prison. I’m praying to change this. Thank God I came to know Jesus. Coming here, wow, awesome, and I have had some real neat Christian mailings from the list. It is awesome to get mail while here. So whatever you can mail me, I would really appreciate it. Anything! I love anything Jesus related. Thank you for doing the Lord’s work.
Steven, NV

Dear Ron,
I received the Introductory Issue. I really enjoyed it. I am in the process of changing my life. I am building a foundation, one that is strong enough that I can stand on when I get out from behind these walls. I want to know if I can receive “Change Your Life Biblically”? I would greatly appreciate it. I want to thank you for your time on this matter.
Sean, CA

I am very interested in your program and I would love to receive positive material as well as have some positive people in my life to write.
Shanna, NC

Dear Friends,
I saw your ad posted in the chapel on the wall. I would love to receive the free Bible. I also would like to enrol for your free complete Old and New Testament along with Bible studies, pen-pals, web page and monthly newsletter.
Rodney, FL

I would like you to send me a copy of your book, “Change Your Life Biblically”, please. I’m very interested.
Bernardo, CA

Dear Ron,
As a presently incarcerated man, I draft this brief missive in an effort to receive a copy “Change Your Life Biblically”. I am both sincerely interested and intrigued in the literature and your personal story. I have ample time to complete all coursework. As a multi-term offender, I am absolutely hungry for change. I believe that your teachings can provide great assistance in furthering my progress.
Ryan, CA

I’m writing you guys to see that help me try to get closer to God. I would love to have a Bible that I can study. I am trying to change so much but the devil is still riding my back. But I ask God to help me every night now.
Gerald, FL

Dear Ron,
I found a paper that had some info about your ministry. I’m not saved. But I got the introductory issue when I sent for it. Life has been rough. I don’t know my real parents. I’ve been in and out of foster homes, group homes til I was 18. I decided to leave the foster home system. I thought I had it all figured out: party scene, clubbing. That led to drugs, drinking. I would prostitute myself to make money. I ended up being beaten, raped and held against my will for 8 months at the age of 19. I struggle with homosexuality. I lived with guys to have a place to stay, putting myself out there for sex. I have lived on the streets chasing women a and men. Brother Ron, I need help. Why should I trust Jesus who I’ve never met? What does He see in me? I’m tired of living the way I’ve been living. I want the peace, love, friendship that you have along with others. Where in the Bible should I start reading? I’m interested in reading the book, “Change Your Life Biblically”. A dude told me he read it and it changed his life. I’m supposed to be getting out of prison sometime in 2023. I got to change before something bad happens to me. I’ve tried suicide 5 times in the past. I’m now 28 years old. I really need some guidance and encouragement. I cry about 30% of the day. Hope to hear from you.
Robert, VA

Dear JCPM,
One of the guys in here put his form with my form with my .49 stamp. You sent him the Introductory Issue and I got no letter or Introductory Issue.
Kenny, NC

Could you please send me any stuff you offer inmates? I have 2 life terms without parole plus 30 years. I’m only 42 and been in over 10 years.
Waylon, GA

Dear JCPM,
Can I please get a copy of the book, “Change Your Life Biblically”? I would like to work for this ministry.
Bryon, CA

I have been raised up in church. But when I was in the world and 24 years old, the last thing I wanted to think about is God or Jesus or even read the Bible. It wasn’t until I came to prison that life really hit me. I’m on the bottom, lying on my back, the only place I could look was up. I have been in here 17 years now. Whether I make parole this time or not, it doesn’t matter since I have truly given my life to God and accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior. I haven’t ever felt so free in my life. I was raised in an abusive lifestyle, both sexual and physical by older women. I never had a role model in life. All I care about is getting closer to God. But it is hard being in here. Everyone that isn’t a Christian is hard to be around. But I stand firm. Will you send me a study Bible and Christian literature.
David, TX

Dear Prison Ministry,
I’ve come across your leaflet in our multi-purpose room and yes, I would love to receive your book, Bible studies and newsletters. I can surely use a great Christian pen-pal. I’m on my eighth year of a 10 year sentence and God has brought me a long way from the person I used to be. God is constantly changing my life and I’m so eager to learn as much as I can about Jesus. I want to share my knowledge with my unsaved family and anyone who will listen. Please allow me to be involved in your offer as well as to receive any literature on what I may do to help your ministry from within these fences. I pray that your ministry will teach me and strengthen my relationship with Jesus.
George, MS

I am in state prison and I would love to be part of your ministry. Would you please send me the book so I can get started? Thank you and God bless you.
Don, CA

Dear Sir,
I have 23 years left on my sentence. So I need to change my life for my family and friends out there.
Clayton, FL

I would like to go farther into reading and studying the Lord’s Word through your ministry. However, I am very low on funds. So my mailing returns will be a little slow. Please send me the next step after the Introductory Issue.
Charnette, GA

I am a Muslim inmate. The reason why I am writing your Christian organization is because I want to know about Jesus Christ Himself. Maybe you will share that information with me. No, I cannot go to the prison chapel for the information. My brothers will not like that at all. That is why I’m writing for a pen-pal who can write me. I spent 25 years in the gang life and 10 years in Islam itself. I am in prison for 3 counts of murder serving 95 years. Maybe you will allow me to enter into your Christian program.
Dewayne, WA

I would like to receive a Bible and do your Bible study. I would also like a pen-pal. Thank you so much and may God bless.
Pam, NC

Dear JCPM,
I have a request that hopefully can be fulfilled... My fiance is currently in St. Francisville parish prison and we are expecting our first child. His faith in God is beautiful to me!!! I found out about this ministry in 2014 and I think it would be wonderful for him if possible can you send him some info on your ministry please?? I can only hope I’m going about this correctly please let me know if the request needs to be done differently thank you so much for your time!!

My Dear Family in Jesus,

The churches today are under the control of Lucifer. All are finding fault with the Word of God and teaching doctrines that go totally against the teachings of Jesus. They have become “Anti” Christ. Let us listen now to our duty to Jesus.

I saw that we should not put off the coming of the Lord. Said the angel: “Prepare, prepare, for what is coming upon the earth. Let your works correspond with your faith.” I saw that the mind must be stayed upon God, and that our influence should tell for God and His truth. We cannot honor the Lord when we are careless and indifferent. We cannot glorify Him when we are desponding. We must be in earnest to secure our own soul’s salvation, and to save others. All importance should be attached to this, and everything besides should come in secondary.

“Earnest to secure our own soul’s salvation, and to save others” is not sitting in church. It has nothing to do with reading your church material and sitting in your easy chair listening to “Christian” music or watching “Christian” TV programs. It has nothing to do with conspiracy theories or symbols or digging up dirt about your church or church members. It starts with you living the perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life. Then you are to take that message to all around you. Especially to those in your church. Get them out now for their own salvation.

I saw the beauty of heaven. I heard the angels sing their rapturous songs, ascribing praise, honor, and glory to Jesus. I could then realize something of the wondrous love of the Son of God. He left all the glory, all the honor which He had in heaven, and was so interested for our salvation that He patiently and meekly bore every indignity and slight which man could heap upon Him. He was wounded, smitten, and bruised; He was stretched on Calvary’s cross and suffered the most agonizing death to save us from death, that we might be washed in His blood and be raised up to live with Him in the mansions He is preparing for us, to enjoy the light and glory of heaven, to hear the angels sing, and to sing with them.

And therein lies the most astounding dilemma. It was church people who heaped upon Jesus every indignity and slight, wounding, smiting and bruising Him. And so it is today. Every critical word spoken against this ministry, every slight, every wound is against Jesus. When will church people wake up, rise up and work with God, through this little ministry He raised up, in presenting to the lost world the teachings of Jesus to stop sinning, be perfect and to keep the Ten Commandments to get their eternal life. Jesus is waiting. Whose side are you on?

I saw that all heaven is interested in our salvation; and shall we be indifferent? Shall we be careless, as though it were a small matter whether we are saved or lost? Shall we slight the sacrifice that has been made for us? Some have done this. They have trifled with offered mercy, and the frown of God is upon them. God’s Spirit will not always be grieved. It will depart if grieved a little longer. After all has been done that God could do to save men, if they show by their lives that they slight Jesus’ offered mercy, death will be their portion, and it will be dearly purchased. It will be a dreadful death; for they will have to feel the agony that Christ felt upon the cross to purchase for them the redemption which they have refused. And they will then realize what they have lost—eternal life and the immortal inheritance. The great sacrifice that has been made to save souls shows us their worth. When the precious soul is once lost, it is lost forever.

How many have lost their soul. They gripe, complain, criticize and sit around in their churches finding fault with this little ministry which is simply teaching the Words of Jesus. Like Jesus, John the Baptist, the disciples and the early Christians, this ministry was raised up by God to bring the world back to obedience to Jesus and His truth. But few are willing to accept the sacrifice obedience would bring. Few want to be “persecuted” by their church, family and friends for Jesus. It is much easier to put on a show and pretend than to become a “new creature” in Jesus.

I have seen an angel standing with scales in his hands weighing the thoughts and interest of the people of God, especially the young. In one scale were the thoughts and interest tending heavenward; in the other were the thoughts and interest tending to earth. And in this scale were thrown all the reading of storybooks (videos, movies, music), thoughts of dress and show, vanity, pride, etc. Oh, what a solemn moment! the angels of God standing with scales, weighing the thoughts of His professed children—those who claim to be dead to the world and alive to God. The scale filled with thoughts of earth, vanity, and pride quickly went down, notwithstanding weight after weight rolled from the scale. The one with the thoughts and interest tending to heaven went quickly up as the other went down, and oh, how light it was! I can relate this as I saw it; but never can I give the solemn and vivid impression stamped upon my mind, as I saw the angel with the scales weighing the thoughts and interest of the people of God. Said the angel: “Can such enter heaven? No, no, never. Tell them the hope they now possess is vain, and unless they speedily repent, and obtain salvation, they must perish.”

This is talking about people who go to church on Sabbath. This is not about the world. God is trying to wake up those who claim to be “His people”, “The Remnant”. But they are fast asleep in their churches, reading their church papers, listening to their church programs and sound asleep to the fact that if they do not “speedily repent, and obtain salvation, they must perish.”

A form of godliness will not save any. All must have a deep and living experience. This alone will save them in the time of trouble. Then their work will be tried of what sort it is; and if it is gold, silver, and precious stones, they will be hid as in the secret of the Lord’s pavilion. But if their work is wood, hay, and stubble, nothing can shield them from the fierceness of Jehovah’s wrath.

If your church is not preaching “the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine” it is not of God. (2 Timothy 4:2) If it is not rebuking “them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith” they are not working for Jesus. Our church is to be preparing people for heaven, not earth. Sitting in church listening to your pastor give you “peace and safety” messages will not get you into heaven.

The young, as well as those who are older, will be required to give a reason for their hope. But the mind, designed by God for better things, formed to serve Him perfectly, has dwelt upon foolish things, instead of eternal interests. That mind which is left to wander here and there is just as well able to understand the truth, the evidence from the word of God for keeping the Sabbath, and the true foundation of the Christian’s hope, as to study the appearance, the manners, the dress, etc. And those who give up the mind to be diverted with foolish stories and idle tales, have the imagination fed, but the brilliancy of God’s word is eclipsed to them. The mind is led directly from God. The interest in His precious word is destroyed.

The fantasies being taught in our churches about “saved by grace”, the “unconditional” love of God, “can’t stop sinning” and “can’t be perfect” along with many more sophistries that go totally against the teachings of Jesus are foolish stories and “idle tales” that are taking church members to eternal destruction.

A book has been given us to guide our feet through the perils of this dark world to heaven. It tells us how we can escape the wrath of God, and also tells of the sufferings of Christ for us, the great sacrifice that has been made that we might be saved and enjoy the presence of God forever. And if any come short at last, having heard the truth as they have in this land of light, it will be their own fault; they will be without excuse. The word of God tells us how we may become perfect Christians and escape the seven last plagues. But they took no interest to find this out. Other things diverted the mind, idols were cherished by them, and God’s Holy Word was neglected and slighted. God has been trifled with by professed Christians, and when His Holy Word shall judge them in the last day, they will be found wanting. That word which they have neglected for foolish storybooks, tries their lives. That is the standard; their motives, words, works, and the manner in which they use their time are all compared with the written word of God; and if they come short then, their cases are decided forever.

How our churches have become our idols and “foolish storybooks”. We listen to and obey our churches while we turn our backs on the One who died for us. How “Catholic” we have become. When He tells us to stop sinning, we look to our church to tell us we can’t. When Jesus tells us to be perfect, we look to our church to tell us we can’t. When Jesus tells us to keep the Ten Commandments to get our eternal life, we look to our church to tell us we don’t have to. Those who refuse to take their salvation into their own hands and study the Word of God for themselves will be lost. Sitting in the church is like the man who built his house upon the sand. When the time of trouble comes and the plagues are poured out they will be swept away. Those who obey Jesus and get out of their churches and stand on the Word of God alone, will stand solidly on the Rock of their salvation.

I saw that many measure themselves among themselves, and compare their lives with the lives of others. This should not be. No one but Christ is given us as an example. He is our true Pattern, and each should strive to excel in imitating Him. We are co-workers with Christ, or co-workers with the enemy. We either gather with Christ or scatter abroad. We are decided, wholehearted Christians, or none at all. Says Christ: “I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of My mouth.”

The churches are lukewarm. They are asleep in the devil. Peace and safety messages have flooded the churches of the world. “Stay in the church” is the cry of the churches and denominations. Everything the church teaches is “anti” Christ. Everything it teaches and does is “in the place” of Jesus and what He teaches. To be almost saved is to be totally lost.

"I saw that some hardly know as yet what self-denial or sacrifice is, or what it is to suffer for the truth’s sake. But none will enter heaven without making a sacrifice. A spirit of self-denial and sacrifice should be cherished. Some have not sacrificed themselves, their own bodies, on the altar of God. They indulge in hasty, fitful temper, gratify their appetites, and attend to their own self-interest, regardless of the cause of God. Those who are willing to make any sacrifice for eternal life, will have it; and it will be worth suffering for, worth crucifying self for, and sacrificing every idol for. The far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory swallows up everything and eclipses every earthly pleasure." {1T 123-126}

From the commencement of our labors we have been called to bear a plain, pointed testimony, to reprove wrongs and spare not. And all the way there have been those who have stood in opposition to our testimony, and have followed after to speak smooth things, daub with untempered mortar, and destroy the influence of our labors. The Lord would rein us up to bear reproof, and then individuals would step right in between us and the people to make our testimony of no effect. Many visions have been given to the effect that we must not shun to declare the counsel of the Lord, but must occupy a position to stir up the people of God, for they are asleep in their sins. But few have sympathized with us, while many have sympathized with the wrong and with those who have been reproved. These things crushed us, and we felt that we had no testimony to bear in the church. We knew not in whom to confide. As all these things forced themselves upon us, hope died within us. {1T 247.2}

That is precisely what is happening to this ministry. How my heart aches. Who is preparing their hearts for Heaven?

For those of you not in prison, this ministry has cases of the book, “Change Your Life Biblically”. It is perfect for handing out, placing in laundromats, in parks, bus stops and other places. Please ask for a case or two and begin working for Jesus. Sacrifice yourself, get out and do something for Jesus. The angels of God are watching. What do they see? What will they write about you? “Here sat one in church”? Or “here was one working for the salvation of others”? Where is your attention? What world are you working for? Hand the books out to everyone you come in contact with. Give one to every member in your church. Use it to form Bible study groups. It was dictated by the Holy Spirit for this purpose. Will you neglect so great a salvation? Thank you folks for your support. God Bless you.

Love in Christ,
