John the Apostle

Letters of John

My Dear Family in Christ,

John was the most beloved of all the disciples. He was the youngest and most susceptible to the love of Jesus. Being so young, he was more open without prejudice to the deep love and teachings of the Saviour and this produced the greatest love letters of the heart ever written. I pray that as you study with me, your hearts will be warmed and filled with the peace, joy and love of Jesus. Let us humbly bow before the Lord Almighty and simply accept His Word, His truth into our hearts.

We have been told, warned and counseled that in these last days, the Sabbath-keeping churches will fall just as did the Jewish, Sabbath-keeping church of Christ’s day. As it was in Christ’s day, it wasn’t the church that saved anyone, each had to work out his/her own salvation by being obedient to the teachings of Jesus. They each had to get out of the fallen church and live in obedience to the commands of Jesus to be saved. Those who stood by their church instead of Jesus were destroyed. They thought that their “church” was the “Church of God”. That it could never fall. But the “Church of God” is not made up of any man-made church or denomination. The “Church of God” is spiritual for God is Spirit. It is the “Kingdom of God” that is to be within each of us which is the “Church of God”. “I was shown that those who are trying to obey God and purify their souls through obedience to the truth are God’s chosen people, His modern Israel.” {2T 109}. That “Spiritual Kingdom” can never fall. It may seem to be falling because the outward, physical churches of man have fallen, but the Spiritual Kingdom will never fall. Jesus told the church of His day that it was left unto them desolate. Since they wanted to do it their way, Jesus left them to do it their way. The “Church of God” walked out of their church.

Do you know why the Jewish church killed Jesus, Stephen and tried to kill Paul and the other Christians? Simply because they told the truth that their “temple” or “church” was not needed for salvation. That struck at the pride of the people in their “temple”, “church” and “denomination”. They had more love in their church than they had for God and His children. Speaking against the “church” was a death penalty. So, they put God and His followers to death. “How terrible it will be for you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to make a single convert, and when this happens you make him twice as fit for hell as you are.” Matthew 23:15.

The same is true today. Our churches and denominations are left unto us “desolate”. The hate this ministry gets for teaching truth is beyond my comprehension. Church members would rather go to hell sitting in their church than go to Heaven in obedience to the truth Jesus taught. We must put down our egos, pride and selfishness and do exactly what God says. He is telling us now to come out of her My people so that we will not continue in her sins and be destroyed with her. We must change our characters from the bigoted, pharisaical, world living church members to the pure, righteous, holy, perfect and sinless character that will be accept into Heaven.

“Ministers should impress upon the people the necessity of individual effort. No church can flourish unless its members are workers. . . . I saw that nothing lasting can be accomplished for churches in different places unless they are aroused to feel that a responsibility rests upon them. Every member of the body should feel that the salvation of his own soul depends upon his own individual effort. Souls cannot be saved without exertion. The minister cannot save the people. . . . The people should feel that an individual responsibility rests upon them, not only to save their own souls, but to earnestly engage in the salvation of those who remain in darkness. Instead of looking to (the church) to help them out of their darkness, they should be earnestly engaged in helping themselves. If they should begin to hunt up those worse off than themselves, and should try to help them, they would help themselves into the light sooner than in any other way. If the people lean upon (the pastors) and trust in them, God will humble them among you or remove them from you. You must look to God and trust in Him. Lean upon Him, and He will not forsake you. He will not leave you to perish. Precious is the word of God. ‘Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life.’ These are the words of Christ. The words of inspiration, carefully and prayerfully studied and practically obeyed, will thoroughly furnish you unto all good works. Ministers and people must look to God.” {2T 120}

Unfortunately, the ministers of our churches no longer are giving us “that light”. Instead they are giving us darkness of human wisdom and church doctrine. They love the pride and ego it gives them to walk onto the platform of your church while you stand in worship of them. They love the pride and ego as you bow before them as a Catholic bows before the pope in prayer. Wake up! The system is pagan. They are not teaching you to “work out your own salvation”. They are not teaching you that “an individual responsibility rests upon them, not only to save their own souls, but to earnestly engage in the salvation of those who remain in darkness”. No, it is all about the church. Look to the church. Look to your pastor. Let the minister search for the “lost” and give the Bible studies. The whole edifice of the denomination is Catholic. It has totally fallen.

“If they should begin to hunt up those worse off than themselves, and should try to help them, they would help themselves into the light sooner than in any other way.” Please tell me, how are you doing that while sitting in church? What are we thinking?

Let us listen now to John and see the difference. John is not talking about a “church” and the responsibility of the “church”. John is talking about the responsibility that each member of the “Church of Christ” is to perform. Each has a work he is to do for his own salvation and the salvation of those in darkness. John lays it out so that there is no misunderstanding. Listen now and let the power of the Spirit of God remove the darkness from your mind. Break free from the brainwashing of your denomination, church and pastor and be obedient to Jesus and Jesus only.

This section is based on 1st John 1-3

What existed from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we observed and touched with our own hands—this is the Word of life!

Jesus has always “existed from the beginning”. He is the true “Church of God” which has “existed from the beginning”. The truths He taught have been from eternity. The “Church of God” is linear with no beginning and no end. It didn’t start at the cross or at the Reformation or in the 1840’s. All who live the perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life, “those who are trying to obey God and purify their souls through obedience to the truth are God’s chosen people” and belong to the “Church of God”. It will never fall.

It was Lucifer who began the rebellion in Heaven to live selfishly and in opposition to those truths. All churches and their members who follow Lucifer in opposition to those truths will be destroyed along with Lucifer, the originator of opposition. Like the Jews, it doesn’t matter if you “go to church” on Saturday. Your heart must be in agreement with the “Church of God”.

John heard those truths which have been from everlasting to everlasting. In the Bible it is called, the “Everlasting Gospel”. That gospel, or “good news”, is what had been spoken in Heaven from the beginning of time. All inhabitants of Heaven and the universe obey those eternal truths: the eternal gospel. John heard it, touched it and declared that good news as the Word of Life. All who obey it belong to the “Church of God” and will have eternal life.
This life was revealed to us, and we have seen it and testify about it. We declare to you this eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us.

Because Lucifer, and those who follow him in rebellion, had obscured the truth through the church, Jesus had to come personally in order to demonstrate to the world the high calling and possibility that awaits each and every person who accepts that “truth”. Jesus was born into a world of sin to demonstrate that, with the power of God, all things are possible, including the keeping of God’s Law perfectly. No church was necessary. Only obedience to truth.

Lucifer was “born” into a holy, sinless and commandment keeping environment. But that could not “save” him. Our “salvation” does not depend on circumstances, environment or church. Our salvation depends simply on obedience. It is a choice we must make. Salvation depends on our will. John saw that perfect life that was with the Father and he is declaring it to you so you can follow it. What Jesus declared was not a church. He never pointed to a church. He never taught church. The truth Jesus taught was personal responsibility for your own salvation. “Go and do thou likewise”. Luke 10:37. That salvation is not found in a church membership, but in obedience to the teachings of Jesus.

What we have seen and heard we declare to you so that you, too, can have fellowship with us. Now this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus, the Messiah.

The example of John and the disciples, after the cross, is to be ours. Why “after the cross”? Because, before the cross the disciples were very good “church people”. Their whole existence was for the church. They would have lived or died for the church. It wasn’t until after the cross that they realized how deadly their former life and belief was. They watched the church as it persecuted Jesus and all of God’s prophets. They watched the church argue with Jesus and His messengers. They watched the church keep the people away from Jesus. They watched the church put Jesus on the cross. They left the church and gave their heart to Jesus. They realized that it was fellowship with Jesus that saved them, not fellowship with church. We are to declare to the world what we personally have seen and heard of our fellowship with Jesus. But if we have no fellowship with Jesus, how can we declare it? If we are hiding our “light” under a church “bushel”, who will see it? If all we have is “church” fellowship, we have nothing to declare. We are no different than a Catholic, Mormon, Baptist, Muslim or any other “country club” person.

We need to develop a fellowship with Jesus. That fellowship can only be experienced when we get out of our churches, put our eyes on Jesus, and live in total obedience to every word that proceeds from His mouth. Then you will have something to declare. “I, the LORD, am the one, and I won’t give My name and glory to another, nor My praise to idols (churches).” Isaiah 42:8.

We are writing these things so that our joy may be full.

If your joy isn’t full, maybe it is time to “write”, share and let your light shine to those around you. Share it. Stop sitting in church. Stand up, walk out, pick up the book, “Change Your Life Biblically”, change your life and find the joy in fellowshipping with Jesus. God is waiting for you to take an active part in your salvation. Share the book with all around you. Share with our pen-pals.

This is the message that we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness—none at all!

There is no sin in Jesus. God is Light. We are to live as Jesus lived. We are to walk as Jesus walked. We are to let the perfect, sinless and Commandment keeping life of Jesus shine out of us. No sin, no darkness is to mar that light in our lives. If your church has sin in it, it is not walking with Jesus. You are not to partake of it.

Many claim that church is to be like a hospital. A place where sick sinners can come. Yes, that is true. But if the sick go to a hospital and are never cured, they will die in their sickness. Would you go to a hospital if all they did was tell you funny stories, put on entertainment and tell you peaceful things? How would you feel if all they did was tell you how sick you were and that their was no cure for your sickness? How would you feel if they told you that it was impossible to be sickness free. How would you feel if they told you that you must live with your sickness the rest of your life? How would you feel if all they did was open the medical books and describe your sickness? Did you not go to the hospital to be made well? Did you not go to the hospital with the understanding that the treatment may not feel good, it may hurt and be painful, but the end result is to be cured? If your church is not curing you of the virus of sin, you will die. Why are you going to your church if you still carry in you the deadly virus of sin? If church hasn’t removed it from you by now, it is time to go to the Heavenly Physician who will give you the antidote to your virus of sin. You can be cured - Now!

If we claim that we have fellowship with him but keep living in darkness, we are lying and not practicing the truth.

This is where “church” becomes so dangerous. It has become “anti” Christ. It is “lying and not practicing the truth” to you. How easy it is to deceive ourselves into thinking we are having “fellowship” with Jesus by going to church, while we sit complacently in our sins believing we are saved. But that would prove us to be “lying and not practicing the truth”. The ceremonies and rituals are very hypnotic and captivating, but they have nothing to do with eternal life. They come to us from the pagans through the Catholic Church. Why are you still in your church?

If you are not practicing the truth as Jesus taught it, to be perfect, sinless and Commandment keeping, you are lying to yourself, to God and to your church. No liars will be in Heaven. God hates liars. You disrespect God every time you go to church in your sinful life. Every time you go to church in your sinful life you break the third commandment. By going to church you are claiming to be a Christian. A Christian lives as Christ lived: perfect. Therefore, you are taking the name of God in vain. In His grace He has been merciful to you, giving you opportunity to love Him and change your life. But now that you know the truth, if you continue in your church-going habit without changing your life, your grace will run out. You will die eternally.

But if we keep living in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

Our “fellowship with one another” is not in a church name or in a church building. Our fellowship with one another is when we are living in the light as “He Himself is in the light”. Our only duty is to “keep living in the light as He Himself is in the light”. We have no other duty. We must live perfectly as Jesus did. Then we will have true “fellowship with one another”. And as we are in union with Jesus we will be in union with each other, then and only then can the “blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin”.

If we say that we do not have any sin, we are deceiving ourselves and we’re not being truthful to ourselves.

None of us can say that we have never been sinners. We all have been sinners. Most are still sinning. However, if you are in a church that is not helping you to overcome your sins, you are in essence saying, “I do not have any sin to overcome”. That would make you a liar. You are deceiving yourself and not being truthful. But if you will acknowledge that you are a sinner and need to change your life, then you will recognize that you must stop sinning and become perfect, sinless and commandment keeping. If you continue to live in your sin you will die. (Hebrews 10:26). But if you acknowledge that you are a sinner and stop sinning, God will take away your sin and you will have fellowship with Him. Remember, our “fellowship” is to be with Jesus, not church.

If we make it our habit to confess our sins, in his faithful righteousness he forgives us for those sins and cleanses us from all unrighteousness.

Notice, our “habit” is not to be going to church, but confessing “our sins”. In order to “confess our sins” we must first acknowledge our sins. We must look deeply into our lives by looking deeply into the Law of God to see where we do not conform to the Law of God. Then we will be able to confess our sins, put them away and stop sinning. Then He will be faithful and forgive us for those sins and cleans us from all unrighteousness. But if we are sitting in church, looking not into the Law but at those around us, we will believe we are as good as them and that we don’t need to “confess our sins”. If your church is not pointing our your sin, the sin or sins that need to be terminated, you are sitting in the wrong church.

If we say that we have never sinned, we make him a liar and his word has no place in us.

If we sit in church thinking we are saved in our sins, we will die. If we are listening to our pastors teach us smooth and peaceful words, we will die. Our churches are to be places where we realize we are sinners and need to change our lives and become like Jesus. We must stop sinning and live perfectly as He did. We need to emulate the disciples and early Christians who spent their “church” time reproving, rebuking and exhorting each other, in love, to put aside their sins and to become perfect in Christ. “I was shown that those who are trying to obey God and purify their souls through obedience to the truth are God’s chosen people, His modern Israel.” {2T 10}

Let us listen now to an example of such a meeting that took place in 1867. Oh how we need to bring back those meetings to our churches today. How far we have fallen!

“Our labors in Maine commenced with the Conference at Norridgewock the first of November. The meeting was large. As usual, my husband and myself bore a plain and pointed testimony in favor of truth and proper discipline, and against the different forms of error, confusion, fanaticism, and disorder naturally growing out of a want of such discipline. This testimony was especially applicable to the condition of things in Maine. Disorderly spirits who professed to observe the Sabbath were in rebellion and labored to diffuse the disaffection through the Conference. Satan helped them, and they succeeded to some extent. The details are too painful and of too little general importance to be given here.

“It may be enough to say at this time that in consequence of this spirit of rebellion, faultfinding, and, with some, a sort of babyish jealousy, murmuring, and complaining, our work in Maine, which might have been done in two weeks, required seven weeks of the most trying, laborious, and disagreeable toil. Five weeks were lost, yes, worse than lost, to the cause in Maine; and our people in other portions of New England, New York, and Ohio were deprived of five general meetings in consequence of our being held in Maine. But as we left that state we were comforted with the fact that all had confessed their rebellion, and that a few had been led to seek the Lord and embrace the truth.” {1T 644}

How little of that is done in our churches today, if any. Oh, there is plenty of the “spirit of rebellion, faultfinding, and, with some, a sort of babyish jealousy, murmuring, and complaining”. But I don’t see the “plain and pointed testimony “ being given. No, we don’t want to offend anyone. Our pastors preach CC (Church Correctness) sermons in order to keep the money flowing without causing anyone to feel uncomfortable in their sins. Our churches have fallen. They have become the whores of Babylon. None are listening to Jesus. It is all about “embracing the church”. How Catholic they have become. By refusing to obey Jesus to be perfect, stop sinning and keep the Ten Commandments to get their eternal life, they have become “Disorderly spirits who professed to observe the Sabbath were in rebellion”. Sadly, those disorderly spirits have permeated throughout the whole Sabbath denomination from the top down. The only remedy is to dismantle the whole edifice and start over, as Jesus did with the Jewish church of His day. And that is what He is doing now. The “Loud Cry” cannot be given through the church. It has lost the voice of God. Now, it is only the voice of man that is heard in our churches. God is starting over with people who are obedient to the teachings of Jesus and coming out of their churches. The sifting took place at the time of Christ. “When many of his disciples heard this, they said, “This is a difficult statement. Who can accept it? . . . As a result, many of His disciples turned back and no longer associated with Him.” John 6:60, 66. So it is today. The shaking is taking place now. Are you turning back to your church, or will you stay with the teachings of Jesus?

My little children, I’m writing these things to you so that you might not sin. Yet if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus, the Messiah, one who is righteous.

How important that statement is. Just as this ministry was raised up to write you things “so that you might not sin”. Our battle is not against each other, our battle is against sin. We are to “press together” in our battle against sin. We are not to “press together” in the name of a church. We are to “press together” in the obedience of the teachings of Jesus. We are to help each other to become perfect, sinless and commandment keeping as Jesus was. We are to press together as soldiers in a firefight in order to keep the enemy of sin away. That is the duty of every Christian. Those who are not accomplishing that duty are aiding and abetting the enemy.

It is he who is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world’s.

It is Jesus who is our “atoning sacrifice”. Your church can’t save you. Your pastor can’t get you into heaven. Your denomination has nothing to do with your eternal life. Jesus and Jesus only. We must obey Jesus and live as He lived in order to have his “atoning sacrifice for our sins”. If your church, pastor or denomination is not teaching you to stop sinning and be perfect, get out now! The “atoning sacrifice” is about to come to an end. The books are soon to be closed in Heaven. If you have any sin in you when your book is closed, you will die eternally. Jesus cannot save one person who refuses to cleans himself of all sins.

“Now, while our great High Priest is making the atonement for us, we should seek to become perfect in Christ. Not even by a thought could our Saviour be brought to yield to the power of temptation. Satan finds in human hearts some point where he can gain a foothold; some sinful desire is cherished, by means of which his temptations assert their power. But Christ declared of Himself: ‘The prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in Me.’ John 14:30. Satan could find nothing in the Son of God that would enable him to gain the victory. He had kept His Father’s commandments, and there was no sin in Him that Satan could use to his advantage. This is the condition in which those must be found who shall stand in the time of trouble.” {GC 623}

This is how we can be sure that we have come to know him: if we continually keep his commandments.

How true that statement is. We prove we “have come to know Him” if we are living His perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life “continually”. If you are not being taught this in your church, why are you going to church? You are wasting valuable character developmental time by going to church. There is only so much time for you to develop the perfect, righteous and sinless life. Every moment you waste in church is a moment lost in developing your character for Heaven. When probation closes, if you have any sin in you, you will be lost.

The person who says, “I have come to know him,” but does not continually keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth has no place in that person.

If you are going to church thinking you are a Christian while continuing in sin, you are a liar and the truth is not in you. Only those who “continually keep His commandments” know Him. Christians live as Jesus lived: perfect, without sin. “But each of you had better tremble and turn from your sins. Silently search your heart as you lie in bed.” Psalm 4:4. If you continue in your sins the blood of Jesus cannot cleans you. Hebrews 10:26. It would be better for you to “lie in bed” Sabbath morning searching your heart than sitting in church in sin.

But whoever continually keeps his commandments is the kind of person in whom God’s love has truly been perfected. This is how we can be sure that we are in union with God:

How are we to be “in union with God”? “Whoever continually keeps His commandments”. This is no on-again-off-again experience. This is not going to church once a week. This is “continually”, moment by moment living the perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life. We must be grafted into the Vine, not just hopping on and off. We must be dead to the world, stop sinning and accept the perfect character of Jesus.

“This union with Christ, once formed, must be maintained. Christ said, ‘Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in Me.’ This is no casual touch, no off-and-on connection. The branch becomes a part of the living vine. The communication of life, strength, and fruitfulness from the root to the branches is unobstructed and constant. Separated from the vine, the branch cannot live. No more, said Jesus, can you live apart from Me. The life you have received from Me can be preserved only by continual communion. Without Me you cannot overcome one sin, or resist one temptation.

“‘Abide in Me, and I in you.’ Abiding in Christ means a constant receiving of His Spirit, a life of unreserved surrender to His service. The channel of communication must be open continually between man and his God. As the vine branch constantly draws the sap from the living vine, so are we to cling to Jesus, and receive from Him by faith the strength and perfection of His own character.” {DA 676}

Every time you walk into a church you separate yourself from the vine of God. You are putting your salvation into the hands of a church and man. Get out and give your salvation to Jesus through obedience to His teachings.

The one who says that he abides in him must live the same way he himself lived.

And how did Jesus live? Perfect, sinless and commandment keeping. If you claim to abide “in Him” then you must live the “same way He Himself lived.” Another aspect of this is that Jesus pointed all people to Himself or His Father and the Law of their Kingdom. Never did He point people to church or a pastor or a denomination. That would have been breaking the 1st commandment. He also brought people to perfection. How many people have you brought to perfection? Have you been bringing people to Jesus or to a church? Who do you follow? Jesus or the Pharisees of your church?

Dear friends, I am not writing to you a new commandment, but an old commandment that you have had from the beginning. This old commandment is the word you have heard.

John had the same problem in his day as we do today. The church had covered up the truth. John was letting the people know that he wasn’t writing anything “new” but it has been from “the beginning”. God’s truth is eternal. It has always been His purpose for us to walk the perfect, sinless life. It is the church that has taken that “purpose” away. That is why we must get out of our churches. The brainwashing that we receive in them is destroying us. By beholding we become changed. By listening to the lies of the church day-in-day-out we cannot hold out against it. That is why the devil will find any excuse to keep you in church. We must simply obey Jesus and walk out. “Bad company corrupts good character”. (1 Corinthians 15:33) How true Paul was. The churches are institutionalize “bad company” and we must get out.

One person who writes me keeps telling me how he has been going to the same Sunday churches for years in order to bring them the 3 Angels’ Messages. What he doesn’t understand is, the pastors are laughing at him behind his back. The devil has had him listening to their lies for years and he has been changed by beholding them. He has been playing with the devil and has lost his salvation. It became so bad, he called the teachings of Jesus “B.S.” He doesn’t even realize how lost he is. In 30 years in the Sabbath church, not one person has he brought to Jesus. He hasn’t even brought himself to Jesus. It is all about church for him. All he did was move from his former Catholic Church to his new Sabbath church. Unfortunately, he did not leave his Catholic doctrine behind, he brought it with him. He is a very good Catholic sitting in a Sabbath church.

On the other hand, I am writing to you a new commandment that is truly in him and in you. For the darkness is fading away, and the true light is already shining.

Because the truth had been hidden for so long by the church of John’s day, in a sense, he was writing “a new commandment that is truly in Him.” What truth? The truth that we must live perfect, sinless and commandment keeping was not and cannot be found in the church. It can only be found in Jesus. It is the same today. Our churches have “hidden” the truth and now when we teach it, it seems “new” and foreign to those who go to church.
The person who says that he is in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness.
Hate comes in many forms. Refusing to listen to the truth is a form of hate. Criticizing, complaining, griping and putting down the teachings of Jesus is a form of hate. Anything that comes between us and doing what Jesus has commanded us to do is hate towards God. It is “anti” Christ. Therefore, if you refuse to be obedient to the teachings of Jesus to be perfect, to stop sinning and to keep the Ten Commandment to get your eternal life, you hate God. You are hating your brother by not living the perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life to him. You love the devil and his lies.

The person who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no reason for him to stumble.

Remember, “love is keeping the Ten Commandments”. “If ye love Me, keep My commandments.” John 14:15. If you truly love your brother, you are living the perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life. You are “in the light” and you will not stumble for you see clearly. But if you are not living the perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life, you do not love your brother and you abide in darkness.

But the person who hates his brother is in the darkness and lives in the darkness. He does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

Those sitting under the “bushel” of church truly do not know where they are going. They are the blind leading the blind to eternal death. Those who are not living as Jesus commands, perfect, sinless and commandment keeping, are truly living in sin and darkness. They hate their brothers because their own actions are sinful and sin is destructive. The darkness of evil has truly blinded the eyes of the church. In order to see the Light, we must step out from under the “bushel” of our church and lift our eyes to Jesus and follow Him.

I have a sister who is a board member of her Sabbath church. She is a teacher. They love her because she bribes them with your tithes and offerings. She is very active in her Sabbath church. She loves putting on pagan pageants for the church at Christmas and Easter to get her pats on the back. Getting the kids to show off on stage, beating their drums and making music that has nothing to do with humbly obeying the commandments. It is all for pride, show and “keep the kids in the church”. If we have to bribe them, obviously, they have not been taught to love Jesus. However, after putting her time in at the church, she goes off to ball games on Sabbath.

She hates me and has nothing to do with me since I don’t belong to her church. She looks at me and tells others that this is a “cult”. Why? because she does not believe in the teachings of Jesus. She believes in the teachings of her church that she can be saved in her sins by grace. Two weeks after rejecting this ministry and the book, “Change Your Life Biblically”, she got sick and had to go on disability. The doctors tell her she will die. I told her that if she would read, study, obey, live, teach and support the teachings of this ministry, she would be healed. She told me, “That’s not going to happen”. She will die physically and eternally because she is looking to the church and man instead of God to heal her. Will you do the same? Or will you listen, obey and be healed?

I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name.

The “little children” John is referencing here are those who had accepted Jesus and His teachings. They were “children” of God. They were living the perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life. They had come out of their church and stopped listening to the church teachers teaching lies. They were now “forgiven on account of His name”. They didn’t need a church, all they needed was obedience to Jesus.

I am writing to you, fathers, because you have known the one who has existed from the beginning. I am writing to you, young people, because you have overcome the evil one. I have written to you, little children, because you have known the Father. I have written to you, fathers, because you have known the one who has existed from the beginning. I have written to you, young people, because you are strong and because God’s word remains in you and you have overcome the evil one.

“Overcome”! That is the theme of the entire Bible. We must be overcomers. In order to live in Heaven, where everyone lives in obedience to the teachings and commands of God, we must practice overcoming sin and living in strict obedience to the Law of God. No deviation will be allowed in Heaven. God kicked out those who deviated from that Law. He will not allow you in as a sinner. Now, while we are on “probation”, we must put in place habits of perfection, sinlessness and commandment keeping.

Stop loving the world and the things that are in the world. If anyone persists in loving the world, the Father’s love is not in him.

Today, “church” has become a thing of “the world”. We must stop loving everything that is of this world. The churches of today have been molded, not in the mold of Jesus, but in the mold of our selfish, sinful lives. The churches of today reflect our own pride, ego and arrogance. We must get out. If you “persist in loving the world” and the churches of the world, the love of the Father is not in you. To love God is to be obedient to Him. “The person who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me.” John 14:21. He commands us to come out of the churches of the world today. You must cleans your soul of church.

For everything that is in the world—the desire for fleshly gratification, the desire for possessions, and worldly arrogance—is not from the Father but is from the world.

I do not understand how we can call ourselves “Christian” while we do nothing that is “Christian”. Going to church is not “Christian”. How arrogant churches are. Nowhere in all the Bible are we commanded to go to church. There was no “church” until about 3500 years after Adam. And then, the “church” was modeled after the pagan churches. The Catholic church “Christianized” the pagan church system. All churches today are involved in that pagan system. Folks, get out. Our lives are to be bound up in obedience to the teachings of Jesus in order to be a “Christian”. And yet, we stand in judgment of the teachings of Jesus deciding what we will and will not obey as if we have that right. How arrogant. Since our churches do that, we feel that we have the same right. How “anti-Christ”.

And the world and its desires are fading away, but the person who does God’s will remains forever.

How true. But how few are listening. Church members and the world are grasping for the last fading sins while they reject their duty to be obedient to “God’s will”.

Little children, it is the last hour. Just as you heard that an antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have appeared. This is how we know it is the last hour.

It is truly the “last hour”. And the “anticrist” is here in the form of our churches, pastors and denominations. It isn’t “one” “antichrist”. John says, “many” have appeared. Everything that stands “in the place of” Christ is “anti” Christ. Listening to your church and pastors instead of Jesus makes them “antichrist”. You go to church and sit quietly listening to your pastor. But during the week, are you sitting quietly for hours each day listening to Jesus by reading His Word and obeying it? Or are you too busy listening to the TV, radio, computer and other activities? When will you put as much energy in sitting in the presence of God and His Word as you do your church and worldly activities?

They left us, but they were not part of us, for if they had been part of us, they would have stayed with us. Their leaving made it clear that none of them was really part of us.

“They” may be sitting in church, singing the songs and looking like they belong, but their hearts have left Jesus. Those who go to church were never “really part of us”. They refuse to be obedient to the commands of Jesus. Their hearts are in this world. They are simply putting on a show but are denying the power of God to change their lives. They hate God and His commands. They love their church which lets them continue in their sins. They have left the “Church of God” for their worldly church. “As a result, many of His disciples turned back and no longer associated with Him.” John 6:66. Why are you turning back to your church?

You have an anointing from the Holy One and know all things.

I have learned from experience that those whose will is on the side of Jesus have “an anointing from the Holy One”. Those who teach, live, promote and support the teachings of Jesus to be perfect, sinless and to keep the Ten Commandments to get eternal life, are of God.

I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because lies don’t come from truth.

Those who “know the truth”, no lie is found in their mouths. Those who refuse to acknowledge the truth are filled with lies. Every breath they take and word they speak is a lie since they refuse to accept the truth as Jesus taught it. Every act and thought is motivated by their lies of selfishness and rebellion against the Law of God. Going to church is one big lie.

Who is a liar but the person who denies that Jesus is the Messiah? The person who denies the Father and the Son is an antichrist.

How do we deny Jesus? By refusing to believe His teachings. You claim His name, pray long and loud and go to church, but if you are not living in obedience to the teachings of Jesus, you deny that He “is the Messiah”. You have become “antichrist”. “The one who does not love Me does not keep My words.” John 14:24.

No one who denies the Son has the Father. The person who acknowledges the Son also has the Father.

Those who refuse to accept the teachings of Jesus to stop sinning, be perfect and to keep the Ten Commandments to get our eternal life, deny Jesus and do not have the Father. Jesus stated that He came to speak exactly what His Father commanded Him to say. To have the Father’s approval, we must also speak exactly what was commanded through Jesus. That is how we acknowledge the Son. “But I am doing what the Father has commanded Me to let the world know that I love the Father.” John 14:31.

What you have heard from the beginning must abide in you. If what you have heard from the beginning abides in you, you will also abide in the Son and in the Father.

That is the problem with “church”. Instead of abiding in the truth we are abiding in church. Instead of hearing truth from the mouth of Jesus, we hear from our churches that change it, modify it and adapt it for their own selfish purposes. Again, churches are very dangerous because we tend to think of them as “places of God”. But in reality they have become “antichrist”. They have become demon possessed. They are constantly teaching and doing that which stands “in the place” of Christ. God has left the churches of today as He did the temple in His day. Revelation is very plain, Jesus is outside knocking at the door to be let in. Go out and be with Jesus.

The message that the Son himself declared to us is eternal life.

How true. Jesus came to show us how to get to Heaven. He demonstrated and taught that “way”. He lived the perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life. Then He told us to follow Him. He commands us to live perfectly and sinlessly. And how do we do that in order to have eternal life? Jesus answered that. “If you want to have eternal life, you must obey the commandments.” Matthew 19:17.

I have written to you about those who are trying to deceive you.

For nineteen years God has been instructing this ministry to write “to you about those who are trying to deceive you”. But how few are listening. They love their churches, they love their pride, they love their ego, they love their pastors, but how few love Jesus and show it by obedience to His commands. How much longer will God’s grace hold out? Will you listen? If you continue in rebellion, your grace will be withdrawn.

The anointing you received from God abides in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you this. Instead, because God’s anointing teaches you about everything and is true and not a lie, abide in him, as he taught you to do.

How few have the anointing from God. To have that anointing you must be in “union” with God. You must “abide in him”. To be in “union” with God you must live and obey the Ten Commandments as God does. Therefore, how true that statement, that to have the anointing of God we must live “as He taught you to do”. If you had the “anointing” you would not “need anyone to teach you this”. You would not need church. You would not need a pastor. You do not need to belong to a denomination. All you need is the anointing of God which comes through obedience to Jesus and His truth to be perfect, stop sinning and to keep the Ten Commandments to get your eternal life.

Even now, little children, abide in him. Then, when he appears, we will have confidence and will not turn away from him in shame when he comes.

Jesus stated that it is those who thought they would be saved who would gnash their teeth and wail at the coming of Jesus. (Matthew 8:12) Why? Because, when they come face to face with purity, holiness and love, they will realize that they made church their god and lived in rebellion against the commandments of God. They refused to acknowledge the teachings of Jesus to live perfectly, sinlessly and commandment keeping. They have been unfaithful to Jesus. Therefore, when Jesus comes, they will be ashamed and turn away in horror, calling out for the rocks to fall on them and to hide them from Him whom they have fought against their whole lives. How hard it is for the prideful heart to humble itself and simply believe the teachings of Jesus: stop sinning, be perfect and keep the Ten Commandments to get your eternal life. So few will be saved.

Since you know that he is righteous, you also know that everyone who practices righteousness has been fathered by God.

If you are living perfect, sinless and commandment keeping, you are practicing righteousness. Since righteousness and wickedness cannot dwell together, you are either one or the other. Any sin is wickedness. To be almost saved is to be totally lost. To be “fathered by God” is to have the “seed” of God in us. That seed of God has no sin in it. By your works, your fruits and your life it can be seen who has “fathered” you: God or the devil. Going to church is not a “fruit” or work of righteousness but is the “fruit” of wickedness that takes the place of righteous living.

The leaders of the church of Christ’s day had the truth, went to church on Sabbath and paid their tithes. But Jesus said, “Your father is the devil, and you do exactly what he wants. He has always been a murderer and a liar. There is nothing truthful about him. He speaks on his own, and everything he says is a lie. Not only is he a liar himself, but he is also the father of all lies.” John 8:44. Those who do not teach the teachings of Jesus to stop sinning, be perfect and to keep the Ten Commandments for their eternal life are children of the devil as the Pharisees were. They teach lies.

Think how much the Father loves us. He loves us so much that he lets us be called his children, as we truly are. But since the people of this world did not know who Christ is, they don’t know who we are.

How true. Those of us who are truly the children of God because we obey Him and believe His teachings, are not understood or “known” by the people who have been fathered by the devil of lies. They fight against us, gripe, complain, look for defects and refuse to believe Jesus while sitting in their churches. They throw their verbal “stones” at us. They crucify Jesus by their words and acts that crucify us in our hearts and feelings. How we are hated by the church. “‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is worthless, because they teach human rules as doctrines.’ You abandon the commandment of God and hold to human tradition. Then he told them, ‘You have such a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to keep your own tradition!’” Mark 7:6-9. Church-going is a tradition of man, not of God!

My dear friends, we are already God’s children, though what we will be hasn’t yet been seen. But we do know that when Christ returns, we will be like him, because we will see him as he truly is.

We are God’s children when we live in obedience to Him. Then, when He comes, we will see Him for who He is because His sinless, righteous and perfect character has been living within us.

This hope makes us keep ourselves holy, just as Christ is holy.

If you believe you are a “child of God”, are you living just as He lived: perfect? Are you maintaining His perfection in your life? Are you keeping “yourselves holy, just as Christ is holy”?

Everyone who sins breaks God’s law, because sin is the same as breaking God’s law.

If you don’t believe you can live without sin, then you don’t care if you sin. Therefore, you are breaking the Law of God and the wages of sin is death. But if you believe the teachings and commands of God to stop sinning, then you will “strive” to make sure you are living perfectly in obedience to God’s law. You will not be striving to go to church. You will not be striving to listen to your pastor. You will not be striving to do what your denomination says. You will be striving to be obedient to the Ten Commandments and every word that comes from God. You will be striving to make time, hours each day, spent in God’s Word, learning to be obedient to every word He commands.

You know that Christ came to take away sins. He isn’t sinful, and people who stay one in their hearts with him won’t keep on sinning. If they do keep on sinning, they don’t know Christ, and they have never seen him.

Over and over again the whole Bible teaches us that if we claim to be a child of God, we cannot “keep on sinning”. God is providing “probation” in order to give us time to develope a perfect, sinless character that will be able to live in Heaven for eternity without sinning. If you can’t do it here, you won’t do it there. Lucifer chose to sin in a perfect environment. God will not take anyone to Heaven who will again choose to sin. Therefore, you must now develop the habit of choosing not to sin so you can do it for eternity in Heaven. Christ gave His life to give us not only the example but the power to overcome sin in our lives. That is how we know who has God in their lives, by whether or not they are living perfectly.

Children, don’t be fooled. Anyone who does right is good, just like Christ himself. Anyone who keeps on sinning belongs to the devil. He has sinned from the beginning, but the Son of God came to destroy all that he has done. God’s children cannot keep on being sinful. His life-giving power lives in them and makes them his children, so that they cannot keep on sinning.

Until we understand the magnitude of that statement, we will never enter heaven. If the power of a righteous, sinless and commandment keeping God is living within you, you cannot live in sin. The only way to sin is to voluntarily choose sin over the power of God to keep you from sinning. And the only way we can do that “is by beholding, we become changed”. But if you don’t “behold” Jesus or know that you can live without sin, then you won’t be able to live without sin and will die eternally. “Beholding” your church, pastor or church media “super-stars” will do nothing for your eternal life.

You can tell God’s children from the devil’s children, because those who belong to the devil refuse to do right or to love each other. From the beginning you were told that we must love each other. Don’t be like Cain, who belonged to the devil and murdered his own brother. Why did he murder him? He did it because his brother was good, and he was evil.

As the verse says, it is all about choice. Those who “belong to the devil refuse to do right”. Going to church is not “right”. Living as Jesus lived: perfect, sinless and commandment keeping is right. We “murder” each other by refusing to be obedient to the commands of God. We kill by hating those who teach the commands of Jesus. We kill each other by treating un-Christlike those who teach what Jesus taught. And why? Because we love our church and our sins. Our pride and ego refuse to bow in humble submission to the truth and teachings of Jesus. It is too much of a sacrifice. If you are not helping those who are sitting next to you in church to stop sinning, you are murdering them. Every day, those you pass by without sharing with them the teachings of Jesus will die. You are killing them.

My friends, don’t be surprised if the people of this world hate you. Our love for each other proves that we have gone from death to life. But if you don’t love each other, you are still under the power of death.

If you are talking against those who are being obedient to the teachings of Jesus, you hate them and Jesus. If you gripe and complain against those who teach the teachings of Jesus, you show your true character, no matter how much church going you do, you are “still under the power of death” and a follower of the devil. But if you love, you will show it by teaching people to live in obedience to the teachings of Jesus to be perfect, stop sinning and to keep the Ten Commandments so they can have eternal life. That is the example of our loving Creator.

If you hate each other, you are murderers, and we know that murderers do not have eternal life. We know what love is because Jesus gave his life for us. That’s why we must give our lives for each other. If we have all we need and see one of our own people in need, we must have pity on that person, or else we cannot say we love God. Children, you show love for others by truly helping them, and not merely by talking about it. When we love others, we know that we belong to the truth, and we feel at ease in the presence of God. But even if we don’t feel at ease, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything. Dear friends, if we feel at ease in the presence of God, we will have the courage to come near him.

Very few people feel at ease in the presence of God. This ministry is the “presence” of God since it teaches the teachings of God. If you do not feel at ease while reading this, it is because you do not know God. You may know church, but church has nothing to do with eternal life or God. Those who can read the material from this ministry with a clear conscience are those whose characters have been purified by the Spirit of God.

He will give us whatever we ask, because we obey him and do what pleases him. God wants us to have faith in his Son Jesus Christ and to love each other. This is also what Jesus taught us to do. If we obey God’s commandments, we will stay one in our hearts with him, and he will stay one with us. The Spirit that he has given us is proof that we are one with him.

Do you want Jesus to answer your prayers? Do you need healing? Those who obey the teachings of this ministry are healed. Obedience is the only visual proof that we have the Spirit of God in us. Light and darkness cannot dwell together. Claiming to have the Spirit of God, or to be one of “the Remnant” or “child of God” will do you no good in the judgment if you have not lived by the Spirit of God and have truly become a “child of God” by living as His children live: perfect and sinless. Very few will be saved! I plead with you to look closely at your life and see who you are following.

The Power of Education

It is the nicest work ever assumed by men and women to deal with youthful minds. The greatest care should be taken in the education of youth to vary the manner of instruction so as to call forth the high and noble powers of the mind. Parents and teachers of schools are certainly disqualified to educate children properly, if they have not first learned the lessons of self-control, patience, forbearance, gentleness, and love. What an important position for parents, guardians, and teachers! There are very few who realize the most essential wants of the mind, and how to direct the developing intellect, the growing thoughts and feelings of youth.

There is a period for training children, and a time for educating youth. And it is essential that both of these be combined in a great degree in the schools. Children may be trained for the service of sin or for the service of righteousness. The early education of youth shapes their character in this life, and in their religious life. Solomon says: “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” [Proverbs 22:6.] This language is positive. The training which Solomon enjoins is to direct, educate, and develop. In order for parents and teachers to do this work, they must themselves understand the way the child should go. This embraces more than merely having a knowledge of books. It takes in everything that is good, virtuous, righteous, and holy. It comprehends the practice of temperance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love to God, and to each other. In order to attain to this object, the physical, mental, moral, and religious education of children must have attention.

(How our schools, churches and healthcare institutions have fallen. Not one is understanding “the way the child should go”. None are teaching the teachings of Jesus: to be perfect, stop sinning and to keep the Ten Commandments to get eternal life. They are all following the world.)

In households and in schools the education of children should not be like the training of dumb animals; for children have an intelligent will, which should be directed to control all their powers. The dumb animals need to be trained; for they have not reason and intellect. The human mind must be taught self-control. It must be educated to rule the human being, while the animal is controlled by the master. The beast is trained to be submissive to his master. The master is mind, judgment, and will for his beast. A child may be so trained as to have, like the beast, no will of his own. His individuality may even be submerged in the one who superintends his training, and the will is, to all intents and purposes, subject to the will of the teacher.

Children who are thus educated will ever be deficient in moral energy and individual responsibility. They have not been taught to move from reason and principle. Their will was controlled by another, and the mind was not called out, that it might expand and strengthen by exercise. They were not directed and disciplined with respect to their peculiar constitution and capabilities of mind, to put forth their strongest powers when required. Teachers should not stop here, but give special attention to the cultivation of the weaker faculties, that all the powers may be brought into exercise, and carried forward from one degree of strength to another, that the mind may attain to due proportions.

Children should be taught to respect experienced judgment, and be guided by their parents and teachers. They should be so educated that their minds will be united with the minds of their parents and teachers, and so instructed that they can see the propriety of heeding their counsel. Then when they shall go forth from the guiding hand of their parents and teachers, their characters will not be like the reed trembling in the wind.

God never designed that one human mind should be under the complete control of another human mind. And those who make efforts to have the individuality of their pupils submerged in themselves, and they be mind, will, and conscience for their pupils, assume fearful responsibilities. These scholars may, upon certain occasions, appear like well-drilled soldiers. But when the restraint is removed, there will be seen a want of independent action from firm principle, existing in them. But those who make it their object so to educate their pupils that they may see and feel that the power lies in themselves to make men and women of firm principle, qualified for any position in life, are the most useful and permanently successful teachers. Their work may not show to the very best advantage to careless observers, and their labors may not be valued as highly as the teacher who holds the will and mind of his scholars by absolute authority, but the future lives of the pupils will show the fruits of the better plan of education. {CE 5-7}

Brothers in Christ,
I am on my fourth trip back to prison. I’ve been struggling for years with my relationship with God. I always feel not good enough and like a complete failure. Hence, my massive addiction to drugs and alcohol. For years I’ve been trying to get my relationship with God back. The kind of relationship I had with Him when I was 8. 21 years later all I feel is falling short. I was reading the bulletin on my unit one day when I came across your brochure. It touched my heart and I knew your studies would help me. I’ve always known I need God in my life. Just never felt confident enough to be bold in my faith as St. Paul was. As scared of change as I am, I know I can’t continue down the path I’ve been on since I was 10. That path leads to prison, jails, treatment, and eventually death. I want so much more for my life. I have so many dreams and desires to help young people not fall into the temptations this world has to offer, but to fall in love with God and all He stands for. But first, I really need some guidance in the right direction. Guidance from God Himself as well as much more mature Christians. I am hopeful that you as my big brother could help me get back on track. I’m excited about my journey of coming back to Christ and leaving the old me behind. I really want to join your ministry.
Patricia, MT

Dear JCPM,
I just wanted to say “thank you” for sending me the booklet. I have read it five times. I am very interested in the free book. They make it really hard here to get to the library.
Jeffrey, CT

Jesus Christ Prison Ministry,
I was looking for a book in the library and I found your flyer. I’m interested in the “Change Your Life Biblically” study. Please send all you have.
Albert, IA

Dear Brother Ron,
Thank you for your prompt response. As I took out my book to re-read it, the answer sheets are still here. Your letter is awesome confirmation of what our Lord has taught me. I “get it” now that the plan of salvation is eternal. It is, “Be Perfect, stop sinning and obey the 10 Commandments to have eternal life.” Jesus is God and He embodied the plan of salvation while He was on earth. I have been led to believe that Jesus Himself was the Savior. It is a critical distinction to me to see that Jesus embodied the plan of salvation and died on the cross out of sacrificial love so I can be justified and have the chance to choose to be saved. It seems to me that Jesus taught us how to be perfect in the sermon on the mount. Overall, your ministry is a bright light in much darkness.
Donna, CA

I ran into a book called, “Change Your Life Biblically”. I was able to get an address to the ministry who carries this book. I was wondering if you guys can please bless me with a copy of this book.
Daniel, CA

To Whom It May Concern,
My current roommate has your book, “Change Your Life Biblically”. I am interested in receiving a free copy of that same book.
Jasmyn, NE

Dear Ron,
Please send me “Change Your Life Biblically”. I want the real truth and not man-made twisted truth.
Traci, IA

Dear Ron,
Thank you for sending me the “Introductory Issue”. It was great to read about your story. It gives me encouragement and hope that once released, even before release, I can help others and be used by God as He has used you. I’m looking forward to receiving your book, “Change Your Life Biblically”. I truly believe doing the studies will give me better understanding for Christ Jesus and strengthen my walk. It has been a long road in this prison system. But with people such as yourself who do care about us on the inside, it makes the hardships lessor and hopeful. Because you can relate to what I’m going through, you know how important it is to keep faith when there seem to be no hope in the future. Finding about “Jesus Christ Prison Ministry” is yet a blessing. Thank you for putting in place something that truly will change lives if implemented in daily actions.
John, NC

I would like to ask you for help. I want a new life. I was facing a lot of time and started to pray and my prayers got answered. I would like to see if you can send me an easy reading Study Bible? I would like your “Change Your Life Biblically” as well.

My Dear Family in Christ,

At the Conference at Battle Creek, May 27, 1856, I was shown in vision some things that concern the church generally. The glory and majesty of God were made to pass before me. Said the angel: “He is terrible in His majesty, yet ye realize it not; terrible in His anger, yet ye offend Him daily. ‘Strive to enter in at the strait gate;’ ‘for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.’” These roads are distinct, separate, in opposite directions. One leads to eternal life, the other to eternal death. I saw the distinction between these roads, also the distinction between the companies traveling them. The roads are opposite; one is broad and smooth, the other narrow and rugged. So the parties that travel them are opposite in character, in life, in dress, and in conversation.

How broad the churches have made the way to eternal death. The devil has taken over our churches and is using them to seduce you to death. If you are not following Jesus by living the perfect, sinless and commandment keeping life, you are on the broad way.

Those who travel in the narrow way are talking of the joy and happiness they will have at the end of the journey. Their countenances are often sad, yet often beam with holy, sacred joy. They do not dress like the company in the broad road, nor talk like them, nor act like them. A pattern has been given them. A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief opened that road for them, and traveled it Himself. His followers see His footsteps, and are comforted and cheered. He went through safely; so can they, if they follow in His footsteps.

“Christians” claim to be following Jesus, yet I see no difference between those who go to church and those who don’t. Those who go to Sunday church from those who go to Saturday church. I would like to ask you, are you on that “narrow way”? Are you following His footsteps of perfection, sinlessness and obedience to the Ten Commandments? Church members have no idea how to converse on Heavenly themes. Why? Because their hearts and minds and actions are on this world. When church members get together, not a word is spoken about the narrow way. It is all about the broad way. Do you follow in the footsteps of the One who sacrificed His life for you? Or do you own boats, motorcycles, skiing equipment and other hobbies that are taking up your conversation, God’s money and time? Are our thoughts on the latest in videos, movies and music instead of on our obligations and duties to Jesus and the “Christian” life?

In the broad road all are occupied with their persons, their dress, and the pleasures in the way. They indulge freely in hilarity and glee, and think not of their journey’s end, of the certain destruction at the end of the path. Every day they approach nearer their destruction; yet they madly rush on faster and faster. Oh, how dreadful this looked to me!

I saw many traveling in this broad road who had the words written upon them: “Dead to the world. The end of all things is at hand. Be ye also ready.” They looked just like all the vain ones around them, except a shade of sadness which I noticed upon their countenances. Their conversation was just like that of the gay, thoughtless ones around them; but they would occasionally point with great satisfaction to the letters on their garments, calling for the others to have the same upon theirs. They were in the broad way, yet they professed to be of the number who were traveling the narrow way. Those around them would say: “There is no distinction between us. We are alike; we dress, and talk, and act alike.”

Then I was pointed back to the years 1843 and 1844. There was a spirit of consecration then that there is not now. What has come over the professed peculiar people of God? I saw the conformity to the world, the unwillingness to suffer for the truth’s sake. I saw a great lack of submission to the will of God. I was pointed back to the children of Israel after they left Egypt. God in mercy called them out from the Egyptians, that they might worship Him without hindrance or restraint. He wrought for them in the way by miracles, He proved and tried them by bringing them into strait places. After the wonderful dealings of God with them, and their deliverance so many times, they murmured when tried or proved by Him. Their language was: “Would to God we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt.” They lusted for the leeks and onions there.

How many are sitting in Sabbath churches sleeping through the “peace and safety” sermon while murmuring and lusting for the world. They refuse to be obedient and cut loose from the world. Their bodies sit in church while their hearts are living in the world. Unless you are living the perfect, sinless life of Jesus, churchgoing will do you no good. The church has fallen.

I saw that many who profess to believe the truth for these last days think it strange that the children of Israel murmured as they journeyed; that after the wonderful dealings of God with them, they should be so ungrateful as to forget what He had done for them. Said the angel: “Ye have done worse than they.” I saw that God has given His servants the truth so clear, so plain, that it cannot be resisted. Wherever they go, they have certain victory. Their enemies cannot get round the convincing truth. Light has been shed so clear that the servants of God can stand up anywhere and let truth, clear and connected, bear away the victory. This great blessing has not been prized, or even realized. If any trial arises, some begin to look back and think they have a hard time. Some of the professed servants of God do not know what purifying trials are. They sometimes make trials for themselves, imagine trials, and are so easily discouraged, so easily hurt, self-dignity is so quick to feel, that they injure themselves, injure others, and injure the cause. Satan magnifies their trials and puts thoughts into their minds that if given way to, will destroy their influence and usefulness.

Yes, the truth is so very plain. Jesus is the Truth. He taught the truth. He lived the truth, but how few believe the truth. He commands us not only to live perfect and sinless, but He commands us to teach others to “obey everything I have commanded”. Matthew 28:20. But how few follow Jesus. They love their church, follow their church, obey their church and think they are saved while totally disobeying the teachings of Jesus.

Some have felt tempted to take themselves from the work, to labor with their hands. I saw that if the hand of God should be taken from them, and they be left subject to disease and death, then they would know what trouble is. It is a fearful thing to murmur against God. They do not bear in mind that the way which they are traveling is a rugged, self-denying, self-crucifying way, and they must not expect everything to move on as smoothly as though they were traveling in the broad road.

I saw that some of the servants of God, even ministers, are so easily discouraged, self is so quickly hurt, that they imagine themselves slighted and injured when it is not so. They think their lot hard. Such realize not how they would feel should the sustaining hand of God be withdrawn, and they pass through anguish of soul. They would then find their lot tenfold harder than it was before, while they were employed in the work of God, suffering trials and privations, yet withal having the Lord’s approbation. Some that are laboring in the cause of God know not when they do have an easy time. They have had so few privations and know so little of want or wearing labor or burden of soul that when they have an easy time, when they are favored of God and almost entirely free from anguish of spirit, they know it not and think their trials great. I saw that unless such have a spirit of self-sacrifice, and are ready to labor cheerfully, not sparing themselves, God will release them. He will not acknowledge them as His self-sacrificing servants, but will raise up those who will labor, not slothfully, but in earnest, and will know when they have an easy time. God’s servants must feel the burden of souls and weep between the porch and the altar, crying: “Spare Thy people, O Lord.”

Have you taken yourself from the work? Are you sitting in church letting the “church” do the work? Today, the workers in the church are not working for God. They are not “employed in the work of God”. They don’t want to because they don’t want to suffer trials and privations. If they are not teaching people to stop sinning and to be perfect, they do not work for God. The early workers, those of the 1840’s and 1850’s worked for God. But by the 1870’s, the church began moving away from the teachings of Jesus and by the 1950’s had apostatized. Today, the church is nothing but a playground for the devil. He controls it and uses it for his own pleasure. No one is standing up in the churches and raising their voices with the Loud Cry that they must get out and stop sinning and live perfectly in order to go to heaven.

Some of the servants of God have given up their lives to spend and be spent for the cause of God, until their constitutions are broken down, and they are almost worn out with mental labor, incessant care, toil, and privations. Others have not had and would not take the burden upon them. Yet just such ones think they have a hard time, because they have never experienced hardships. They never have been baptized into the suffering part, and never will be as long as they manifest so much weakness and so little fortitude, and love their ease so well. From what God has shown me, there needs to be a scourging among the ministers, that the slothful, dilatory, and self-caring ones may be scourged out, and there remain a pure, faithful, and self-sacrificing company who will not study their ease, but will minister faithfully in word and doctrine, willing to suffer and endure all things for Christ’s sake, and to save those for whom He died. Let these servants feel the woe upon them if they preach not the gospel, and it will be enough; but all do not feel this. {1T 127-130}

“We believe without a doubt that Christ is soon coming. This is not a fable to us; it is a reality. We have no doubt, neither have we had a doubt for years, that the doctrines we hold today are present truth, and that we are nearing the judgment. We are preparing to meet Him who, escorted by a retinue of holy angels, is to appear in the clouds of heaven to give the faithful and the just the finishing touch of immortality. When He comes He is not to cleanse us of our sins, to remove from us the defects in our characters, or to cure us of the infirmities of our tempers and dispositions. If wrought for us at all, this work will all be accomplished before that time. When the Lord comes, those who are holy will be holy still. Those who have preserved their bodies and spirits in holiness, in sanctification and honor, will then receive the finishing touch of immortality. But those who are unjust, unsanctified, and filthy will remain so forever. No work will then be done for them to remove their defects and give them holy characters. The Refiner does not then sit to pursue His refining process and remove their sins and their corruption. This is all to be done in these hours of probation. It is now that this work is to be accomplished for us.

“We embrace the truth of God with our different faculties, and as we come under the influence of that truth, it will accomplish the work for us which is necessary to give us a moral fitness for the kingdom of glory and for the society of the heavenly angels. We are now in God’s workshop. Many of us are rough stones from the quarry. But as we lay hold upon the truth of God, its influence affects us. It elevates us and removes from us every imperfection and sin, of what ever nature. Thus we are prepared to see the King in His beauty and finally to unite with the pure and heavenly angels in the kingdom of glory. It is here that this work is to be accomplished for us, here that our bodies and spirits are to be fitted for immortality.” {2T 355)

I want to thank each of you who have been so faithful over the years in supporting this little ministry. Hearts are being touched and changed almost over night as they read the book. The Spirit of God waters every seed we plant. Your donations help us to scatter more seed. The field is large, dry and barren. Your help is needed. Right now we are in need of funding to cover more of the field with seed. God bless you as you continue serving the Lord by helping us plant the seed of present truth: stop sinning, be perfect and to keep the Ten Commandments to get our eternal life.

Love in Christ
